Put it to the People March 23rd March

www.peoples-vote.uk/march

While it's cutting things rather fine, the next People's vote is on March 23rd. It's clear the politicians have no clue. They still can't agree on what brexit should look like. Time to take it back to the people.

To people who respond to tell me things like 'we won, get over it',
I'd like to thank you in advance for bumping the thread.

I want a "The British in Europe are People Too (and so are the 3 Million)" placard but I don't want one enough to make one at home and then pay Ryanair to transport it.

Going to try to hook up with a friend who is a British in Europe organiser.

Will we beat the 700k last time? My completely apolitical best friend - who is in the "most affected" category, as a British single mother who is a cross-border worker and has a French child (neither has dual nationality) -is trying to organise to come. I'll pay for her hotel if she can book transport ...

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/03/2019 13:02

First weather forecast for the day (early days, so will change)

Rather wet in Scotland and northern England, so wrap up those placards well on the way to transport. In the South, dry and low wind.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/03/2019 14:16

If I manage to come I won't have a placard as I only have one arm so can't spare the hand for it, sadly.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/03/2019 14:16

One arm at present, for clarification!

ADarkandStormyKnight · 13/03/2019 20:42

Sooooo... not writing my placard in permament ink just yet.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/03/2019 20:47

If the WA passes before the march does it make it moot, just a show of opposition to what's gone on? That would be a shame.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 13/03/2019 20:54

It feels like literally anything could happen between now and 23rd.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/03/2019 20:55

It won't pass before the march, but if it did, we've still a lot to fight fore, remember the WA isn't actually a deal.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/03/2019 20:56

Rather it isn't The Deal.

NormHonal · 13/03/2019 20:56

Hoping to be there!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/03/2019 20:58

Can someone prod me to update the coaches on Friday morning, there are more to add but I'm knackered tonight and I've a hectic day tomorrow.

OP posts:
NoWordForFluffy · 13/03/2019 20:59

No, true. I'm just fatigued by this week's shenanigans I think!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/03/2019 13:02

Me too.

Patrick Stewart is to pay for a Yorkshire coach :)

I'm so sorry if any of that is getting a bit confusing!

The weather forecast for next Saturday is thankfully much more benign than this weekend, so at present we don't have to worry about concussing each other with our placards. Phew. My current forecast is for dry, light winds, temps around 10-12C. It may change though, a while to go yet.

KennDodd · 15/03/2019 16:44

Anybody else yet the message that there are now 180 coaches booked to go to London, plus the train!

Songsofexperience · 15/03/2019 16:49

Is this more than last time? Does anyone know how it might compare?

RhubarbCrumbled · 16/03/2019 06:48

Hello, I've been quietly watching all the Brexit threads and have finally been able to juggle everything to come on the March! I'd kick myself forever if I didn't.

Are there any plans for a mumsnet group or meet? I'll be on my own and feel like I could do with some company. Coming into Victoria but can meet up anywhere. I have an A-Z and London knowledge if that helps!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2019 08:07

Well done Rhubarb :)

I think there are a few people coming by themselves. I think I'm going up with a group of friends. I can help facilitate a mn gathering point close to the march if people would like that. PM me if interested.

If anyone is struggling to come because of travel costs then get in touch with www.facebook.com/getmetothemarch/ they are crowd funding to pay travel costs (including for spaces on the chartered buses and trains).

People contributing are either those who live a cheap train/tube ride from the March of those pervented from coming themselves due to ill - health etc. They are also very keen to provide assistance for anyone who feels a disability might be a barrier to coming.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2019 08:26

That is such a great initiative!

UnspiritualHome · 16/03/2019 08:27

Where can I pick up a placard?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/03/2019 08:44

There will be a lot on the roads leading towards the march on the day. Or you can print your own: www.peoples-vote.uk/march_materials

Even an A3 bit of card with a Sharpie slogan can be effective.

You might be able to pick something up at one of these events:www.peoples-vote.uk/events
Where it could be also a good way of connecting with others who are going.

OP posts:
Littlespaces · 16/03/2019 09:59

I have done my placard. :)

stayathomegardener · 16/03/2019 10:19

I've ordered tiny dog a slogan hi viz jacket, hopefully image attached!

The train from Cheshire looks like being £80 so very tempted to drive and tube from Shepherds Bush.
