Westminstenders: Competitive Stupidity

RedToothBrush · 10/02/2019 16:00

A week of wondering which MP is going to be the most dumb.

There is stiff competition between parties and remain / leave.

Expect incredible bids of ignorance and incompetence to curl your toes, with a bit of constitutional craziness thrown in for good measure.

Valentine's Day beckons...

... And so does the No Deal Divorce.

I'm totally down with saying "You People"

I'm a tad miffed not to be a sort or a kind Grin

PerverseConverse · 12/02/2019 13:59

I see the shit sprouter is back

PerverseConverse · 12/02/2019 14:01

So May has asked for more time to secure things? She's been asking since December Hmm

TheElementsSong · 12/02/2019 14:02

You exist here in a complete echo chamber

It'll be of great help in dispersing the echo chamber, and doubtless very reassuring to any undecided lurkers, if only there would be a link to the 500-page Brexit White Paper which contains the answers to All Things Brexit and which is supposedly being deliberately forgotten.

LonelyandTiredandLow · 12/02/2019 14:02

DG yesterday on my dog walk a teen girl told my dog he was 'Hench'.
I had to look it up Blush

BigChocFrenzy · 12/02/2019 14:03

My late dad fought at Dunkirk.

I resent how UK fascists keep basking in the reflected glory of 6 years fight against fascism
The kind of things they post make me suspect they'd have been lining up then with "Hurrah for the Blackshirts"

Dad ^did NOT regard it as a victory,
just a bloody terrifying series of cockups by the higher ups, that left him and his mates^ fighting for their lives with totally inadequate kit.

It was only declared a victory by some because the country needed the distraction and a morale booster,
^rather than a hunt for who screwed up.

So a lot of squaddies died in the mud or the water, paying for someone else's mistakes
^
Churchill:
"we must be very careful not to assign to this deliverance the attributes of a victory.
Wars are not won by evacuations."

StepLadders007 · 12/02/2019 14:03

Afternoon, PC.

I'll only be here for a bit, you can get back to slapping yourselves on the back, re-writing history, democracy and totalitariansim later on. Cheers.

StepLadders007 · 12/02/2019 14:04

Talking of re-writing history......

FishesaPlenty · 12/02/2019 14:04

I also know that the shareholders would need to be convinced about the viability of a case before risking expenditure on legal action.

You know that do you? You genuinely believe that a public listed company consults its shareholders before taking legal action? You really believe that?

TheElementsSong · 12/02/2019 14:05

re-writing history

Like inventing a 500-page Brexit White Paper, sort of thing?

StepLadders007 · 12/02/2019 14:05

My late dad fought at Dunkirk

Have you just made that quote up, because I don't really recall anyone saying that on this thread. I could be wrong.

DGRossetti · 12/02/2019 14:06

You know that do you? You genuinely believe that a public listed company consults its shareholders before taking legal action? You really believe that?

The board represents the shareholders and is charged to act in their best interests.

And no amount of barracking me, or my comments is going to change the fact that HMG are being taken to court by Eurotunnel, which was the fact that started this. The only opinion that matters now, is the courts.

Hazards · 12/02/2019 14:06

Got to add echo chamber to bingo list.

DGRossetti · 12/02/2019 14:10

Ar Cnfprer Gebtybqlgnehz

BigChocFrenzy · 12/02/2019 14:10

I've posted a few times on Westministenders over the past couple of years about my dad at Dunkirk

Destiel · 12/02/2019 14:11

And my grandfather fought on d day.

Does from his wounds many years later.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/02/2019 14:11

I'm wondering if anyone could genuinely be ignorant enough to claim Brexit is against globalisation,
but still support the Tory ERG Brexit - which is Globalisation on Steroids.

Of course, that someone could instead be a Lexiter like Corbyn or Milne
and just enjoy letting the Tories hang themselves on No Deal

... or they could just be mindlessly repeating buzzwords from Brexit Central & Breitbart.

BiglyBadgers · 12/02/2019 14:12

You exist here in a complete echo chamber

But I am here, poised and ready to be educated about how best to cook sovereignty and how it can negate the need for medication.

Please do go ahead and break our echo chamber by telling me about all the great things I will have when we have gained this wonderful sovereignty of which you speak.

Destiel · 12/02/2019 14:12

And my dcs grandfather was killed in 1943 when his shop was torpedoed.

StepLadders007 · 12/02/2019 14:12

I've posted a few times on Westministenders over the past couple of years about my dad at Dunkirk

So you're quoting yourself as an excuse to talk about non-existence fascists?

Fair play.

1tisILeClerc · 12/02/2019 14:12

This thread may be a bit of an echo chamber but there is a lot of diverse stuff going on, from pets, poetry, music, gardening, cake making (of the practical edible sort) and art. Then there are the views on Brexit gleaned from news channels in the UK and abroad and some delving into more obscure corners.
A tad more interesting than 'we won, get over it'.

Destiel · 12/02/2019 14:12

Shop? Ship.

Destiel · 12/02/2019 14:13

I'd rather quote myself than neo nazis.

Destiel · 12/02/2019 14:13

Where are we on our brexit bingo card btw?

DGRossetti · 12/02/2019 14:14

Better to rule in hell than serve in Heaven, I guess ....
