What happened to the Brexit Arms?

Have I missed it somewhere?

Or has it disappeared? 18 months ago it was a hot bed of cheering, braying and smug crowing. What went wrong?

Now, 'What the Chuff are we Actually Going To Do?' threads get one, token Brexiteer, isolated, arguing their corner? Slapped down every second ensuing post?

This makes me very worried. It almost makes me thing that the post-Brexit fears of Remainers can't be relied upon as a source of mirth anymore.

So, c'mon! Where are you? Once you've parked 'Project Fear'/'Remoaners'/'We won, you lost, get over it?'/'It'll be fine'

Please tell me you've kept some powder dry!

Please give me hope that at least some of you can post a coherent reply assuring us that this won't be the biggest - to quote Angela- 'shitstorm' in our recent history?

Do you sort of wonder why your cheer-squads went silent?

Does that worry you, too?

{it will be almost summer, and this will help move us onward... If people avoid holidays abroad for 12 months then that will help as well.}
Er no!!
The 2008 world financial crash, and the bits that affected the UK was a 'blip' and the UK still hasn't got back to it's original position, unlike much of Europe.
In contrast Brexit is multiple organ failure primarily affecting the UK, with a blip outside the UK.

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 12:31

The UK is not going to be a headless chicken like you claim...
Will we starve... No.
Will people die in their millions... NO.
Will we stop importing goods from outside the EU... NO.
Will all financial dealings worldwide stop... No.
Will the EU stop selling us goods... No

Your trying to imply that no one will be able to enter a shop and find anything to buy at all... Things will be different... We all agree that. But we will not suddenly become Africa and send our children to collect water from 5 miles away.

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 12:34

"Your trying to imply that no one will be able to enter a shop and find anything to buy at all... "

Strawman no one said that.

But the government and businesses have been stockpiling, what does that tell you.

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 12:39

Imply... Means an unspoken thing..
And I refuse to accept that this is not what is be implyed by the fear posts.

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 12:45

Wow, for someone whose spelling and grammar is so poor, I wouldn't be trying to educate people on use of words.

In fact the "fear posts" are all justified as they are backed with information from gthe government and industry bodies.

Your posts show stupefying ignorance .

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 12:48

I don't care about my spelling and grammar, all I care about is how your comments on the need to stockpile prove you think stores will be empty....

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 12:50

But the need to stockpile is so that the stores won't be empty?

We need to stockpile because if we left it down to using the same systems as we do now the stores would be empty.

Oh and I do care about your spelling and grammar if you are going to be pedantic about other things. People in glass houses and that.

1tisILeClerc · 11/01/2019 12:52

{The UK is not going to be a headless chicken like you claim...
Will we starve... No.
Will people die in their millions... NO.
Will we stop importing goods from outside the EU... NO.
Will all financial dealings worldwide stop... No.
Will the EU stop selling us goods... No}

I implied nothing of the sort.
If your brain is unable top process the idea of proportionality, so that everything has to be black or white, that is your problem, because apart from death everything is a mixture of good and bad.
Those who voted leave were sold on the great benefits that it would bring to the UK making it better than being in the EU. So far we have suffered loss of growth and income and most normal activities have been downgraded to 'survival'. Like many who voted remain, I await the plans that show growth above and beyond the amount we would have had within the EU. JRM's comment it could take 50 years doesn't cut it for me.

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 12:57

MN is not normal life...
It is a biased towards remain... We all know that.
Most people just want us to move forward, and if no deal is the way forward they are fine with it, as it will mean we are not in limbo.
If the country did not feel this way, why do you think Parliament will vote TM down...

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 13:03

You really aren't very bright.

"and if no deal is the way forward they are fine with it"

Actually most people seem not to be in favour of no deal, just die hard leavers like you who don't understand the consequences and attempt to dismiss concerns with ridiculous arguments,

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 13:07

Tory poll was leave no deal above WA.
Labour will vote against WA.
DUP will vote against the WA.

Result no deal.....

Yep hands up I don't know where I got this idea...

bellinisurge · 11/01/2019 13:08

@BorisBogtrotter is right, do you have any idea how bad No Deal is going to be for you personally? Do you think all the preparation being done at a national level is just to piss you off.
On what possible basis have you concluded "it'll be fine".
Beggars belief you are still holding this opinion.
Bluster all you like but please start making domestic preparations.

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 13:10

Result no deal... or no leave.

1tisILeClerc · 11/01/2019 13:13

It was announced last night that in NI there will be 150 'authorised personnel' to be stationed at 75 petrol stations to oversee the rationing of petrol and diesel in the event of no deal.
This suggests to me that the effects will be rather more serious than hiking the price of petrol up by 10p per litre.
I don't remember seeing petrol rationing on the referendum paper.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/01/2019 13:14

One other poster agreed with you, more than one other poster didn't see where the offence came from

I was much too late to that thread to say anything

But i agree with Bellini and surfer

There is absolutely no need to bring kids into it

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 13:16

Eu have said it will be leave...
Why can't you see that...
Your crutching at straws, I have said this again and again.
No one can agree on anything. How do you think we can now, when each side is still so far apart.

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 13:17

"There is absolutely no need to bring kids into it"

Except it wasn't brought into the debate as a nasty thing, it was repeating what surfer had said.

BorisBogtrotter · 11/01/2019 13:18

The EU have also said that we can withdraw article 50 up till the 11th hour.

So it could be remain.

I am not "crutching" (sic) at anything.

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 13:21

Don't you just love auto correct....

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/01/2019 13:21

Doesnt matter to me boris

you may not have meant it nastily but bringing up something said months ago about someones child isnt on in my book

even if i say something when im frustrated and upset i don't expect it to be thrown back at me months later

But im happy to agree to disagree on this one

Bearbehind · 11/01/2019 13:28

rufus can I just say that the conversation has moved on and it’s now you who is dragging this out.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 11/01/2019 13:40

Of course you can say that bear

And indeed you did

Bearbehind · 11/01/2019 13:51
Grin

I just wish we could have sensible, inactive conversations, about the actual facts without all the constant deflections, whatever they may be.

At this stage Leavers should be furious that this opportunity has been so thoroughly screwed up but instead they are still just saying ‘it’ll all be fine’

mummmy2017 · 11/01/2019 13:55

But Bear until they finally say what is happening, I am still In with a large chance of getting out of it all...
I just don't see how people could accept a back track on it all.
It would be like a judge telling you to go back husband you left.

bellinisurge · 11/01/2019 14:01

But @mummmy2017 , why do you think No Deal would be fine. I can't believe you think it would be.
