Well done and thank you to everyone who marched. So glad it went well and very disappointed not to have been there myself.

Yes children we could get nowhere near Parliament Sq, and at one point I got a bit panicky about how squashed it felt as more and people kept arriving. Fantastic though!

ScouseQueen · 20/10/2018 18:51

We couldn't get into the square either as the crowds were so big. On way back now, exhausted but very happy to have contributed to the turnout. Sorry didn't see any fellow MNers, it was too busy!

TeddyIsaHe · 20/10/2018 18:55

Infinite are you as dim as you sound? Poor turn out? What like the massive 1200 who rocked up to the leave means leaves rally? 1 in every 100 people went to the march. I don’t count that as a poor turn out.

Yaralie · 20/10/2018 18:56

Well done, all of you Mumsnetters and your families and friends who went on the March.

Cobblersandhogwash · 20/10/2018 19:01

It was amazing. I've never seen so many people. They just kept on coming. It was far bigger than two previous marches I've been on.

Keep up the pressure. We deserve the right to choose.

Miljah · 20/10/2018 19:16

Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their weekend to attend this march.

I salute you x

Miljah · 20/10/2018 19:19

teddy, were there really only 1200 at the Leave demo? That must be quite embarrassing for infinite.....

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/10/2018 19:27

What a really good march today. Did anyone else see the teeny tiny group of counter protestors? Couldn't get anywhere near Parliament square but watched the speeches on a screen at Whitehall. What a good range of speakers.

FridayThirteenth · 20/10/2018 19:31

I thought I saw some counter protesters but then it appeared to be something about PTSD?

I didn't see any obvious Leave protesters

FridayThirteenth · 20/10/2018 19:32

And @InfiniteSheldon

Grin thanks for the LOLs...

eurochick · 20/10/2018 19:42

We couldn't get past park lane but I am very happy I went. I think it was chocka all the way to Westminster. It was totally peaceful. Lots of children (including my four year old). Plenty of humorous placards. The crowds were vast. I'm very glad to have been part of it.

UnnecessaryFennel · 20/10/2018 19:46

It was fab. I'm absolutely shattered and I even think I may be a bit sunburnt from standing around in Hyde Park for over two hours before we could even move off. We couldn't get down more than halfway down Whitehall for sheer numbers of people.

Wonderful atmosphere; everyone friendly, happy and supportive. That's the kind of Britain I want to live in.

Sheldon, bless you. It takes a special kind of mental gymnastics to call over 600K people in one place 'a poor turnout' but if it makes you feel better about yourself, so be it. Today belonged to us.

UnnecessaryFennel · 20/10/2018 19:48

Although, I have to ask - bribery? Really?

If you know where I can send my expenses claim to, do let me know Grin

yawning801 · 20/10/2018 19:55

Well done to everyone who marched today - I was in London for something else and had to smile when I saw a dog with a little scarf on!

Urbanbeetler · 20/10/2018 19:57

Ohyoubadkitten, I saw one rather strange man right at the start with a home made placard saying that Boris Johnston was sent by God to do God’s will in the matter or some such twaddle! Everyone left him alone.

Bearbehind · 20/10/2018 19:58

It was rammed.

It didn't move at Hyde Park corner for 2 hours because it was so busy in front.

The tail end went through Trafalger square at about 4.30pm.

That's a shit load of people walking along a street that wide for 4 hours plus.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/10/2018 20:03

The counter demo was on Whitehall about 200m from Downing street. Maybe 15 people?

Urbanbeetler · 20/10/2018 20:04

One of the nicest moments for me was when theee girls of about 13 or 14 were leading a ‘What do we want?’ chant and hundreds of adults were responding. We were beside the girls and they were so fired up about the response they were getting. You had the sense that it was the beginning of political activism seeding itself in their young minds. A sense of them realising they had a political voice and were considered worth being listened to by people.

FridayThirteenth · 20/10/2018 20:05

@OhYouBadBadKitten maybe I did see them? It was so small I couldn't quite work out what it was though Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/10/2018 20:09

I suspect so Grin Anyway we just chanted loudly so who knows what they were saying.

Childrenofthesun · 20/10/2018 20:21

Was it the leprechaun? He turns up at every march with that placard Grin.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 20/10/2018 21:00

Have just seen the coverage of the march. Such a civilised event considering the enormity of the issue. Well done to each and everyone who marched.

Hazardswan · 20/10/2018 21:03

Estimated at over 700,000 people there today! More people I wanna smooch and say thank you to Grin

Urbanbeetler · 20/10/2018 21:23

Childrenofthesun the Boris Johnston bit had clearly been pasted over another name so I’m sure you’re right!
