When is lying not lying. When you can get enough of your mates to agree it is not lying.

And so we have David Davis, who has made two statements to parliament which deliberately contradict each other and must constitute some sort of lie to parliament at some point however you cut it.

Will the Speaker risk the wrath of his party to uphold democratic values? We watch carefully.

Davis also reveals and exposes May too though. May one way or another is complicit in Davis’s lie, either through not doing her job in reading the reports or by protecting Davis when she knew the reports did not exist. This is gross misconduct in her inability to ensure her staff do their bloody jobs. All so she can keep her own job.

This is where whistleblowers in other institutions pop up.

It has also become apparent that May has not had THE conversation with the Cabinet over what shape Brexit should take. After 18months.
Why not? Is she incapable of consensus building or is she just incompetent?

And then we have the DUP seemingly not being properly being involved in the wording of the all important document.

Vote Leave’s Oliver Norgrove is perfectly right in saying that Hard Brexit is all but dead. Don’t let that make you feel happier. Hard Brexiteers know that there only option now, is No Deal and that’s what they will try and pursue.

There is no deal until everything is settled. Right now, nothing is settled, not even what the UK want out of Brexit, never mind the EU position.

May might well have blown the only opportunity for a deal too, because of her failure over NI and the DUP. Where does she go from here? The idea that she will stand up to anyone, is ludicrous given her track record.

We might all wish we could John Lennon's song was apt when it comes to this Christmas and Brexit, it seems the war for our future post Brexit, it seems it is only just starting.

Great news from Alabama! This has really cheered me up this morning!

Oh wow
Great news to wake up to!
In other news the telegraph is "shocked" that brecitveill make the UK poorer

Indie profile of "thick as mince, (alias DD)

"The Brexit Secretary, a man who exists in a state of permanent self-satisfied intoxication from the aroma of his own farts" (PA)** GrinGrin

https://edition.independent.co.uk/editions/uk.co.independent.issue.121217/data/8104186/index.html

… a month shy of the referendum and the man who would be about to become the UK’s chief Brexit negotiator accidentally made a public declaration of his utter ignorance of how EU trade deals work:

“The first calling point of the UK’s negotiator immediately after Brexit will not be Brussels, it will be Berlin, to strike a deal,”
he said, before laying out this utterly deluded plan in glorious detail.

“Post Brexit a UK-German deal would include free access for their cars and industrial goods, in exchange for a deal on everything else,” he said.

“Similar deals would be reached with other key EU nations. France would want to protect £3bn of food and wine exports. Italy, its £1bn fashion exports. Poland its £3bn manufacturing exports.”

That a few weeks into the job he declared that the UK would, after exit,
have free-trade deals ready to sign to create a free-trade area “10 times larger” than the single market is also, well, disappointing.

At the most conservative estimate, the European Union accounts for 20 per cent of global GDP.

A free-trade area 10 times larger than this would have to incorporate free-trade deals with people from other planets,
and even with Liam Fox in charge of the process, that seems unlikely. Grin Grin

Swedish thanks for posting the Express story 'Brexit SHOCK warning: Britain will be WORSE OFF out of the EU under ALL Brexit scenarios.'

Strange, as I could have sworn the Express front page splash headline yesterday contradicted that. Being duplicitous, stupid or just hoping that most people only read the front page?

Excellent news, maybe the fightback is beginning.

lonelyplanetmum · 13/12/2017 08:25

Brilliant news here too if the Express is the first tabloid to do a volte face, but how can they say it's a 'shock'? Don't they subscribe to the wisdom of MN.

Cailleach1 · 13/12/2017 08:33

Barnier also rejected Davis’s claim that a future trade treaty could be signed on 30 March 2019 – the day after the UK’s EU exit. Barnier said he expected the EU and UK to sign “a political declaration” on the future relationship. “But it cannot be anything else. In technical, legal terms it simply is not possible to do anything else. And David Davis knows that full well.”

This has me wondering about DD. It is out of propaganda then and spin, not just thickness. He is playing to the Brexit cohort in the gov't. He knew full well he wouldn't be going to Berlin instead of Brussels. Knows full well UK has to be 3rd country for trade deal discussions.

Keir Starmer
@Keir_Starmer
Labour will back Dominic Grieve's amendment giving Parliament a proper say on the Brexit deal if he pushes it to a vote tonight. The terms of our future are not for the government alone to determine.

So, if anyone likes this resistance., and the great Alabama result, Let's do what Obama advised and get out there, you just need a clipboard and a badge, or just yourself.

Today is #No10Vigil outside parliament.
If you can't get there, please retweet any #FBPE if you are on twitter.

Hackney is so brilliant. I just heard a youth refer to dumping a girl as "Brexiting" her ie leaving her without thinking about the consequences.

..as rebels already had pics on front pages, traduced as “mutineers”, strange dark web campaigns against them, some say nothing to lose now

@faisalislam
...in lengthy 8 hour debate on Henry VIII powers, ministers were not, shall we say, at their absolute peak against Grieve’s forensic powers

@faisalislam
..and finally, one so-called “mutineer” said it was “a joke” Steve Baker asking them to be loyal given role in organising Cameron rebellions

Yeah, that's loyal Steve Baker folks.

City millionaire says Vote Leave directed his donation decision

Anthony Clake claims he was advised to give £50,000 to fashion student who was part of another Brexit campaign

A millionaire who gave £50,000 to a 23-year-old fashion student to spend on the campaign to exit the EU says that he was advised to make the donation by the Brexit-backing campaign group Vote Leave.

Hedge fund manager Anthony Clake told the Guardian that he had intended to give the money to Vote Leave, as the official leave campaign, but was encouraged by the group not to do so because “they were close to their spending limits”.

Instead, Clake was advised to give the money to Darren Grimes, who had a separate spending limit as an independent pro-leave campaigner. Grimes passed the money straight to a social media consultancy also hired by Vote Leave. Under UK electoral law, it could be an offence if Vote Leave colluded with Grimes to pass the money to the consultancy, which is called AggregateIQ.^

Grimes is already facing an Electoral Commission inquiry over whether his spending was co-ordinated with Vote Leave.

There is no suggestion of wrongdoing by Clake. But the businessman’s revelation that he was encouraged to donate the money to Grimes by Vote Leave puts new pressure on the organisation over its approach to campaign spending. His statement is the first evidence that Vote Leave encouraged a potential donor to give money to other leave campaigns.

Apparently twitter and Facebook are the devil's work too according to the patriotic free press. Can't think why? Grin #FBPE #StopBrexit.

People also use #Brexit hashtag so to link in with leavers having second thoughts, or anyone, really.

#HopenotHate seems to have annoyed them the most though. Smile
