Yes, I'd sell my house if I'd secured somewhere else to live. Certainly wouldn't sell and then stand in the street shouting "don't worry i can live anywhere now!"

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 11:59

But everything was that great in the EU.
Leaving people to wonder if something different might make things better.
Just because your stuck in a marriage you don't like and have money and a nice house, doesn't mean you stay and be unhappy, you leave not knowing what life will bring but hoping that the move means you can change things and find a better life.
Because if something is better than not knowing but hoping, why are there so many divorces.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/08/2017 12:05

Wonderful mummy let's hope santa Claus brings me a mountain bike this year. Political decisions should not be made on a whim.

Bearbehind · 18/08/2017 12:06

we are housing feeding clothing EU members from other countries who moved here because of EU FOM, we are not talking about 1 or 2 people but Millions.

mummy could you share your source for this comment because it's absolute bollocks.

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 12:24

Why are we getting a Divorce?
Because I don't
love you anymore.
Luv EU anymore.

There is your new soundbite.

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 12:33

Your right I miss typed and should have added the Millions of Pounds at the end.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/08/2017 12:42

EU citizens who work in our hospitals, universities.. any thoughts on the skills shortages mummy? Gonna take years and millions of quid to fix.

SapphireStrange · 18/08/2017 12:50

I'll back up the call for a source or two for your housing feeding clothing EU members from other countries who moved here because of EU FOM, we are not talking about 1 or 2 people but Millions of Pounds
comment, mummy.

Im really interested in seeing the figures.

Carolinesbeanies · 18/08/2017 12:58

"Im really interested in seeing the figures"

Wasnt there an 'accepted' figure of 3m but an acknowledgement that in fact nobody counts? Didnt the DWP issue of NI numbers cause a bit of a furore blowing the 3m figure way out of the water?

Think the same observation comes from the leave side too saphire.

Bare in mind we all cost more each year than we pay in tax.

Mummmy So you admit that many of the problems in this country such as austerity and the cost of housing have nothing to do with the EU but happened to occur while we were members so we should leave?
That makes as much sense as me cancelling my gym membership because my train is always late.
And, as for saying that the EU should do something about it, I thought Brexit was all about taking back control and not being bossed about by unelected Brussels bureaucrats? Confused

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 13:11

www.migrationwatchuk.org/key-topics/employment-welfare

read the welfare bit.

Carolinesbeanies · 18/08/2017 13:12

Howabout, there was a chart knocking around here at some point, showing the population impact from EU FOM across the UK. From memory, youre right. Scotland, Wales, NI remained relatively unchanged, England exploded. It merely added to the sense of divide between the regions, as yes, Scotland relatively unaffected. What issues? Effin English complaining again.

Im going from memory though.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/08/2017 13:17

Migrants will go where there are jobs so no surprises that would predominantly be large English cities. Incidentally most of which voted remain.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/08/2017 13:21

So with Brexit can i expect the end to low paid jobs, the gig economy etc? We wouldn't want low paid British people to be a drain on public services now would we? Or do they fall under the benefit scrounger narrative? Gonna need a new bogeyman when EU membership is ended.

SapphireStrange · 18/08/2017 13:25

Oh, MigrationWatch, that famously neutral body.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/08/2017 13:26

It's slightly better than the daily mail though Grin people aren't influenced by tabloids Hmm

MsHooliesCardigan · 18/08/2017 13:27

Caroline Wales has virtually no immigration and voted to Leave. London has the highest rate of immigration in the UK by a mile and voted to remain.
The North East also has very low levels of immigration but voted Leave.
Londoners aren't generally bothered by 'immigrants' because, on the whole, they just see them as people and couldn't give a flying fuck where they were born.

histinyhandsarefrozen · 18/08/2017 14:00

Ok forget the twenty years of pain (although I've seen/heard dozens of brexiteers say this- one actually suggested 100 years, that's brexiteers btw not remainers) just a list of ways my and dcs life is set to improve because of brexit would be heart-warming to read and certainly help to 'get over it.'

Carolinesbeanies · 18/08/2017 14:36

Histy, I suppose Id need your expectations. Happy to answer to some degree, but what were your expectations for your DCs as a member of the EU? What do you believe youre losing that makes your DCs future appear so bleak?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 18/08/2017 14:44

Answering a question with a question Caroline? How are young people's lives going to be enhanced post Brexit? You don't know do you?

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 15:19

It's the divorce again, you don't know when you leave your husband and take the kids, but your so blooming happy it;s over you don't care what the future will bring you do it anyway.

And just how many people take this leap of faith every year?

Bearbehind · 18/08/2017 15:23

mummy your rhetoric and bravado is plain bonkers.

In your divorce analogy you'd need to have a reason why things are so bad with your husband you must leave.

To roll your points about the state of the country, which are nothing to do with the EU, into this analogy which are you're effectively leaving your husband because your boss is a wanker. Hmm

histinyhandsarefrozen · 18/08/2017 15:24

But I don't want to leave my husband, mummy. Confused we have a nice life together.
Just give me some tangible reasons of how our life is going to improve when we leave.
I'm not getting why this is proving such a problem for you.

mummmy2017 · 18/08/2017 15:29

No your reading that way,
Husband EU
Wife UK

We fell out of love with our controlling husband, and his bullying ways.
We do have a job but give the husband some of the money each month for bills.
But we were So unhappy we walked.
The children had no choice, but as a parent we felt we had to go.
We have no idea what the future will bring but then nor do most women who get a Divorce.
