WELLLLL

Its just before 2.00am.

So far its the YouGov model all the way. Still a long way to go but, the Cons are not getting the top of their target list and Labour are doing very well in seats they just 'shouldn't be'.

Corbyn is now favourite to take the poison chalice of Brexit, but they may not be the largest party yet.

This is looking right now like 1974 not 1983.

May's potted regardless. I look forward to her resignation speech. Its still entirely possible that our next government is a Tory Minority under another leader.

The LDs are having a rough night so far. They are loosing deposits all over the place as they are squeezed out. But they still might hold the balance of power yet. Though they are pledged not to go into coalition.

Another election in the autumn? Brexit delayed and going soft and squishy?

Faisal Islam @faisalislam
Most marginal Lab seat - City of Chester stays Labour. Chris Matheson defended majority of just 93, in seat where UKIP stood aside (4K 2015)

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 04:11

Right that's me done.....sleep

With the Stormont situation as it is, Brexit and the DUP making the noises it's making re propping up the Tories, this is a Rubicon moment for SF lala

lalalonglegs · 09/06/2017 04:13

Then there's not much point standing in the WM elections, especially if it leaves only Unionist voices representing NI in parliament. I get why SF haven't taken up the seats in the past but, given the likely outcome of this election, it's a principle too far.

LadyLance · 09/06/2017 04:13

Would Sinn Fein take their seats to oppose the DUP? They could hold the balance of power =/

Conservatives have just overtaken Labour.

I agree this is potentially a good result for Brexit/the uk/democracy.

BREAKING: Labour say Philip Davies has held Shipley after all #GE2017

'Gamble backfires', words to that effect..

'Theresa Dismay' from The Sun.

lalalonglegs · 09/06/2017 04:15

JRM on the telly and rumours of Philip Davies holding Shipley Shock. Time for bed.

LemonSalad · 09/06/2017 04:15

Urgh, that's a pity re Davies! I'm also off to bed.

lalalonglegs · 09/06/2017 04:16

I agree, Rhythm.

RhythmAndStealth · 09/06/2017 04:18

Wouldn't say this was the night to trade in political certainties math.

No Stormont, DUP pulling UK govt strings, Good Friday crumbling, SDLP wiped out. It's a (Russell's) paradox of an elench as a political moment.

LemonSalad · 09/06/2017 04:18

Theresa May: “Hold my Pimms."

The questions that inspired the non-taking of seats remain - i.e. reunification of Ireland, the illegality of partition, the illegitimacy of NI. Therefore the non-taking of seats is still the basic element of the platform on which SF campaigns. That is their fundamental point and I doubt it will be negotiable.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 09/06/2017 04:20

Salmons loses his seat to tories

squoosh · 09/06/2017 04:20

Alex Salmond has lost his seat to the Tory!

Badders123 · 09/06/2017 04:20

Fuck.
Davies and soubry both 're elected

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 09/06/2017 04:20

Salmond!

mathanxiety · 09/06/2017 04:20

Recount in Richmond Park (Goldsmith).

squoosh · 09/06/2017 04:21

Bed for me now I think 🛌

RhythmAndStealth · 09/06/2017 04:22

I know math. My point is this that real change comes fast, at times like these.

RhythmAndStealth · 09/06/2017 04:24

And that change isn't the same as negotiation of concessions.

squoosh · 09/06/2017 04:24

Soubry isn't the worst I think. Goldsmith though. And worst of all Davies however.....

whatwouldrondo · 09/06/2017 04:24

So we had Vince Cable on earlier with some good sense about now needing a more moderate consensus approach to Brexit and then JRM comes on still clinging to the wreckage the no deal is better than a bad deal soundbite......

JustAnotherPoster00 · 09/06/2017 04:25

Phillip Davis kept it? WTF?

whatwouldrondo · 09/06/2017 04:27

Ruth Davidson on now, bantering about her lustre, no chance of her getting the leadership instead of Boris the Buffoon? She just got asked, long awkward smiley silence.......
