Stack em high, sell em cheap, and make me a billionaire

Sounds like standard Tory party mindset.

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 20:23

Sorry Rufus - hope things are ok FlowersFlowers

Carolinesbeanies · 12/06/2017 20:35

Rufus, its far far from funny. But propping up a life or death service on transient, temporary staffing was always a disaster waiting to happen.

"Tories caused Brexit - applications from EU countries down for NHS jobs
Tories scrap bursaries for nurses - applications from Brits down."

Youll find Ghost, the outcome of the referendum caused Brexit. The people demanded a referendum. Blair promised one. Brown promised one. Cameron promised one, and delivered.

Why shouldnt they scrap bursaries, when theres an infinite stream of ready and willing, arriving every week across the channel, and our 'home' trained medical staff, (you know, the expensive ones) are rushing off to make their personal fortunes in private health services overseas?

Im amazed at peoples logic sometimes.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/06/2017 20:43

Cameron held a referendum to silence the euro sceptics in his party - the people who had plagued the Tories since John Major's days. Party before country.

If FoM ends you have less european NHS staff. If you scrap bursaries applications from Brits goes down. You have a problem, as we do now. Its really quite simple to understand, unless of course you believe in Brexit at any cost.

Carolinesbeanies · 12/06/2017 21:30

Blair promised a referendum. Then u turned. Brown then promised a referendum. Then u turned. If remain had won Ghost, Id agree with you. But for over a decade the nation called for a referendum, and the result tells you why.

"If FoM ends you have less european NHS staff. " Yes, youre right. But they are paid for out of capital budgets that should be spent on NHS investment. I think we all agree on underinvestment, but throwing huge amounts at 'temporary' staffing bills is madness, as mad as throwing huge amounts at white elephant IT projects. The issue is, we are now over a barrel, propped up by temporary staffing, with a bill we cant just transfer to staff 'investment'. We will have to pay twice, simply because of the EUs body shop staffing model.

Blair should have given us the referendum he promised us back in 2004, (and again in 2005). Instead, he went on to make himself a 60million fortune. Where do you think he made his money? PMs salary?

The country is limbo because of Tory actions over the last few years. The NHS under the Tories is a humanitarian crisis and at risk of further privitisation. Read up on the Naylor report, virgin healthcare etc.

What Brexit means changes everyday as the Tories lurch from one crisis to the next. People are getting fed up hence no Tory landslide. The country is dangerously divided and compromise will have to be met. Hard Brexiteers will be disappointed.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/06/2017 21:53

It is becoming clear that Brexit is not going to be the answer to Britain's woes. Corbyn was successful on an anti austerity ticket. Britain's problems are at home, caused by Tory policy. People saw that in the Tories disastrous manifesto. Let may keep digging a bigger hole.

Carolinesbeanies · 12/06/2017 22:08

Badders, google Mavis Skeet. Weve all got elderly frail releatives reliant (in my case, dying) on the NHS. Mine voted brexit. Take your ignorant fuckers comment elsewhere.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/06/2017 22:13

Reference a story from 17 years ago to deflect from current NHS crisis. Inspired.

Carolinesbeanies · 12/06/2017 22:13

....and when youve googled that, heres what Alan Milburn, the then Labour Health Secretary is now worth.

www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jan/29/alan-milburn-labour-health-secretary-am-strategy-private-healthcare

Ignorant fuckers indeed.

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:15

You ignorant fuckers

Always a pleasure to witness your inclusive nature.

I'm heavily reliant on the NHS, and yet I don't feel the need to act like a twat to others.

I choose not to use random internet posters as convenient whipping boys.

But each to their own, obvs.

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:18

Reference a story from 17 years ago to deflect from current NHS crisis. Inspired.

Reference a story that makes clear that the rot started long before the coalition & subsequent Tory govt.

Inspired indeed.

And that atrocity happened when the country actually had money.

Go figure.

Badders123 · 12/06/2017 22:18

I'm being lectured on inclusiveness by a brexiter?
😂😂😂
Too funny

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:18

I'm glad you cheered up Badders.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/06/2017 22:18

Nobody said the NHS was perfect 20 years ago. The leave campaign said there would be 350 mil a week for the NHS. There are now staff shortages. Voters do not trust the Tories with NHS and Brexit is making things even worse. Leavers will not acknowledge the cold harsh realities. Simply deflect and stick fingers in ears.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/06/2017 22:20

Charm, the country has plenty of money. And it will need it to pay for Brexit.

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:21

Nobody said the NHS was perfect 20 years ago.

But, but, but, Labour!
Self-styled champion of the NHS!

Voters do not trust the Tories with NHS

Didn't trust Labour with it either.
See past record for reasons why.

shinynewusername · 12/06/2017 22:22

Can someone - anyone - tell me one good thing that is actually true and will happen after Brexit? All I have heard for the last year is Leavers telling Remainers to stop moaning. Where is the positive case for Brexit? I haven't heard a single positive - other than the £350 million per week for the NHS nonsense that even the Leave campaign disowned on 24th June.

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:23

In fact, it was under labour that stinking filthy hospitals were the norm.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/06/2017 22:24

Labour are more trusted with public services.

Care to address the current predicament in the NHS. Humanitarian crisis, Virgin healthcare, Naylor report, 350 mil for NHS etc. I'm all ears.

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:25

Can someone - anyone - tell me one good thing that is actually true and will happen after Brexit? All I have heard for the last year is Leavers telling Remainers to stop moaning.

Really?

You've seen different threads to me then.

There were plenty of Brexit posters trying to be reasonable - they just got fed up with being told to fuck off & various colourful names thrown at them.

Beyond dull.

time4chocolate · 12/06/2017 22:26

Charm, the country has plenty of money. And it will need it to pay for Brexit

Just wondering if JC factored the EU divorce bill into his costings when he promised his 'goodies for all'

Charmageddon · 12/06/2017 22:27

Labour are more trusted with public services.

The accepted narrative is that they're more trusted.

The reality of working in the public services under the last Labour govt did not fit the narrative, sadly.
