In case any Leavers still lurk/read this thread...

peterjnorth.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/so-who-else-is-bored-of-remainer-finger.html?m=1

Pretty much sums up my thoughts & feelings over the last couple days - sick to death of sanctimonious finger wagging.

winkywinkola · 11/04/2017 23:07

That man writes twaddle. And he can try and break off my finger. See how far he gets.....

Notice the blame for Brexit - in itself an utterly shit idea - is now transferred to the Tories. Who will make a mess of it but probably mostly because it's a shit idea.

When oh when will Leave voters start to take some or even any responsibility for their dumb choice?

Dannythechampion · 11/04/2017 23:41

For SOME never, the impacts of brexit will all be the EUs fault for not giving us what we want.

However anything moderately good in the next two years will be greeted with gleeful applause and smug looks, whilst SOME leavers say "I told you so. Its a real success."

twofingerstoEverything · 12/04/2017 09:57

From that Peter North piece: In the eyes of remainers national governments are the manifestation of all that is evil in the world while the EU government is puppies, rainbows and kittens.
How can you write guff like that and expect to be taken seriously?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/04/2017 10:04

Pro Brexit articles are becoming increasingly irrational, devoid of logic and critical thinking but heavy on fantasy.

Kaija · 12/04/2017 11:56

I don't mind Peter North's snarkiness or his ranting. What is really vile though is that he acknowledges that Brexit won't be a success for a long time and that a lot of damage will be done - presumably in full knowledge of what suffering this will mean for many many people - and then declares that he "doesn't see a downside". It is extraordinarily callous.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/04/2017 12:39

The wealthy won't see a downside, it's the JAMs getting thrown under a patriotic red bus.

winkywinkola · 12/04/2017 13:07

I would be delighted - absolutely delighted - if Brexit was a success for the whole of the UK. I would eat humble pie happily.

But I don't believe it will. Sad

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 15/04/2017 20:33

surferjet · 15/04/2017 21:41

Yeah not bad. Trying to run off all the chocolate I've been eating today 🐷

I hardly come on the ref board anymore as I can't think of anything to say?

I miss the drama leading up to A50 Grin

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 15/04/2017 21:42

I know what you mean

It was a lot more heated in the good old days Grin

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 15/04/2017 21:43

I am so going on a diet on Tuesday (or maybe wednesday)

Watching Rogue One on dvd with dh and the children

Dh is still awake...just

surferjet · 15/04/2017 22:00

Plus what's happening with N Korea / USA is putting Brexit in perspective some what.

I've been pretty good lately re; my sugar addiction - really cut back a few months ago & been sticking to it ok.
My dh is watching some documentary & ds is out with his friends. I'm upstairs mums -netting Grin

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 15/04/2017 22:18

God yeah

Imminent nuclear war....or discussng buses Grin

I really need to get a grip on my eating . I was just thinking that instead of 'treat' food like pizza or curry i should make more expensive meals

So a nice bit of fish or something. Make the 'Treat' the fact that we are eating something that we dont usually eat due to expense or preparation

I am trying to read The Muse, mumsnet and now watch Firefly all at the same time

Multi tasking at its finest Grin

surferjet · 16/04/2017 10:09

Oh thats funny Grin

Dh didnt enjoy rogue one and he was so excited Sad

Have a great easter surfer

Off to torment the children with an easter quiz or its no chocolate for them

WrongTrouser · 19/04/2017 11:13

Haven't been in here for ages. How's the pub doing? Can we have a nice civilised chat in here these days or is it still where leavers line up for the angry remainers to pop in and slap them round the face with a wet fish?

Hopefully the former, as I would really like somewhere to chat without all the hyperbole and nastiness that seems to be about these days.

Anyway, a bit shocked about the election, but it seems to make sense.

CopperRose · 19/04/2017 11:43

I would love it to be the former too.

I'm happy about the GE - the other parties have used TM's 'lack of mandate' to deride her over the last few months & labour's only tactic is to repeat ad nauseum that they're going to 'hold the Tories to account over Brexit' with no actual clear strategy of their own.
Now it's up to everyone to start working for their money instead of languishing in opposition.

I would like TM & the Tories to win with a definitive majority, so that they can get on not only with Brexit but also with her vision for domestic policies, rather than being hamstrung by Gideon & Cameron's manifesto promises.
I would also like Labour to be dealt a bloody nose in the areas that they've repeatedly taken for granted over the last 20+ years.

Politics has rarely been as interesting as the last couple of years!

WrongTrouser · 19/04/2017 13:27

I think politics have in some ways become quite bizarre in the last year or so. I really think the Labour Party is finished. Perhaps the GE will put it out of its misery and something else will emerge.
