Nice to see some positive news, Qatar announcing £5,000,000,000 investment and Sir James Dyson makes some valid points in support of going our own way.

It's funny how life works out isn't it, Teresa May campaigns for remain and she is the one to trigger brexit!

Come on TM, get on with it so we can make a start.

Yes, looking forward to this tedious limbo period being over and entering a period where facts will once again start to be of importance as opposed to all this "red, white and blue Brexit" and "yay let's crack open the champagne at the Brexit Arms" shite that we have been subjected to for 9 long months now. Also, can't wait to see the plan unveiled! Although nothing I saw from David Davis on QT last night filled me with any hope that such a thing exists bar a general feeling of we are Britain, we will prevail!

surferjet · 28/03/2017 13:35

Bananagio
The Brexit Arms is a thread consisting of approximately 4 leavers, a few others come & go, but I doubt the overall 'leaver numbers' has ever exceeded 10.
It's mainly miserable remainers on that thread sadly. But whatever, tomorrow should be greeted with optimism & unity, because we're all in this together.
The time to stop moaning is now.

twofingerstoEverything · 28/03/2017 13:56

The time to stop moaning is now.
Why? Nothing has changed in the past 9 months and I doubt we'll wake up to rainbows and unicorns tomorrow morning.
Surely the time to stop moaning is when something concrete and positive happens? Brexshitters really don't seem to get this. They seem to think people are resisting just for the sake of it.

ICantDoThisAgain · 28/03/2017 14:06

Totally agree twoFingers.

The way to get someone to change their mind about their fears and worries isn't to tell them to shut up, get over it and get on board.

It's to demonstrate that they don't need to worry and this will only happen once we get tangible proof of what is actually going to happen!

It's no wonder we are so divided if you think that all it takes for people to change strongly held beliefs is a few platitudes and mocking 'we won!' type comments.

The vast majority of worried remainers are probably like me - pretty quiet about it and not in a position to do much (just getting on with life and not 'talking the country down' or any of that rubbish).

But if things go as badly as I fear, damn right I will vote against this course of action at the first opportunity. I wish I was a bloody leaver as I wouldn't be so fucking depressed right now - but not one single thing has convinced me it's the right course of action.

I will KOKO and wait patiently to be proved wrong.

MakemineaGandT · 28/03/2017 14:06

The time to stop moaning is now.

Believe me Brexiters, you ain't seen nothing yet. Once the truth of what Brexit is, and what it will do, filters through to the (still largely unaware) British public, you're going to face a lot more than "moaning".

surferjet · 28/03/2017 14:08

Tomorrow will be a massive anticlimax for sure, ( although I'm happy A50 is finally being triggered ) but we need to just get on with it now.

ICantDoThisAgain · 28/03/2017 14:12

Get on with what? All we can do is watch whilst the politicians make this a huge success or massively fuck it up.

There's not much normal people can do on a daily basis.

So whether you are happy or worried about A50, it's out of our control.

Moaning/gloating online is inconsequential.

twofingerstoEverything · 28/03/2017 14:12

but we need to just get on with it now
Well, get on with it then, surfer. I'm sure you'll all manage. Don't come crying to us if you can't.

surferjet · 28/03/2017 14:15

Get on with life outside of the EU.
This is our life now, like it or not.

fessmess · 28/03/2017 14:23

The only good thing about triggering Article 50 is it will stop idiots going on and on about "when will it happen."

Kaija · 28/03/2017 14:24

I think I am actually looking forward to it. It means control of the situation will be passed firmly into the hands of Barnier and the 27, which, while not desirable from the perspective of a year ago, will likely be some improvement on the bluster and nonsense that has been coming out of May and the Brexiteers for the last nine months.

Nicotina · 28/03/2017 14:26

Is this when we get our £350 million back?

fessmess · 28/03/2017 14:27

Oh Nico that's a good one. Along with bendy bananas Confused!

twofingerstoEverything · 28/03/2017 14:31

colourless, abstract concept is about right

missmoon · 28/03/2017 14:32

"Get on with life outside of the EU.
This is our life now, like it or not."

I don't accept that. I didn't vote for this, and will continue to protest / campaign / vote against it. If things go catastrophically wrong, I will find a way to move to Scotland / Ireland / somewhere else better. I'm not going to put up with it, that's a ridiculous attitude.

Bearbehind · 28/03/2017 14:34

Funnily enough Farage has said if Brexit is shit he'll emigrate too missmoon

Fills you with confidence doesn't it?

Also hammers home the fact those who were instrumental in making thus happen don't have to live with the consequenc s if they choose not to.

MyschoolMyrules · 28/03/2017 14:35

Yes great, smashing. Let's reduce our trade with countries such as Germany and France, who have shared values and democratically elected leaders, respect human rights, and welcome investment from Qatar. Fucking Qatar. Where flogging and stoning is legal in public places. Where female testimonies in their court of law is worth half of that of a man. Where Homosexuality is punishable by death. Women who get pregnant before marriage are sent to jail. Fucking Qatar. And you are proud of it. You are proud of it. Please someone help me.

Bearbehind · 28/03/2017 14:36

forgot to add the Farage link

surferjet · 28/03/2017 14:39

But if it all goes well & you end up better off financially, you'll be donating your extra cash to the EU Christmas party fund, yes?

Good for you.

MyschoolMyrules · 28/03/2017 14:41

I will be donating it to the NHS, who is still waiting for its 350m.

"But if it all goes well & you end up better off financially, you'll be donating your extra cash to the EU Christmas party fund, yes? "

Do you seriously think any of us will be better off financially after Brexit? Because even the hard-core Brexiteers are now saying that's not going to be the case. They differ on how long the pain will last (5, 10, 20 years?).

Nicotina · 28/03/2017 15:34

Fingers crossed Farage emigrates and takes his nasty dog whistle racism with him.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 28/03/2017 15:38

General thinking is it will take at least two generations to get to where we are now. Yeah.

Peregrina · 28/03/2017 15:52

I am not sure why surferjet is wasting time posting. She/he should be running up to the north or down to Cornwall, sleeves rolled up and ready to start building the new society which awaits.

Some of May's wealthy cabinet chums and probably her husband will no doubt be the beneficiaries after Brexit, but not the ordinary folk like us, who Theresa May professes to care so much for.
