Well here we are, almost 9 months on from the referendum & A50 is finally set to be triggered this month.
We've had petitions, marches, tantrums & tears, from the hardcore remainers desperately trying to stop the will of the people, but they can't.

So let's get the champagne out of the cellar ready & waiting - this is the last Brexit Arms thread so let's celebrate!

Welcome Olympiathequeen - we're basically ignoring the moaning remainers now so you'll be fine here - Smile

Ola Olympia I've read your threads sorry you had such a hard time sadly you will get much of the same here but we keep bravely soldiering on GrinGrin

Olympiathequeen · 20/03/2017 13:39

Just to know I have found somewhere with like minded people is such a relief. 😀

Pity the Remainers are here too but I guess they have the right to their say, although I personally wish they would show a little more dignity and go feed their herd of unicorns.

Please keep the thread going. A50 is just the start!

Lasvegas · 20/03/2017 14:10

What is taking TM so long, everyday money wasted!

Anyone else think TM will declare Art50 and on same day call a
Gen election?

CountMagnus · 20/03/2017 14:23

^Anyone else think TM will declare Art50 and on same day call a
Gen election?^

No.

Olympiathequeen, your are dignity personified.

Alfieisnoisy · 20/03/2017 14:33

Some Remainers have valid questions though.

Remainer here who couldn't decide (due to the disgraceful lies from both sides of the fence) hence voted Remain in a "better the devil you know" way.

I have a very valid question about the people here under the EU rules who have lives, families and jobs here. Two people I know are good friends of mine and who look so stressed because TM will not address their concerns regarding the future for them. One of them currently setting up a charity with me to support British parents.

It's almost making me a Remoaner quite honestly.

Beyond that I couldn't give a hoot what we do...we voted by a narrow margin to Leave and Leave we must....let's get on and do it now. But a word to reassure those who have given the country a lot of service, taxes and support would not go amiss in that.

Alfieisnoisy · 20/03/2017 14:35

Oh and Olympia, people who voted Remain ...for whatever reason also have freedom of speech. Sorry about that.Hmm

SemiPermanent · 20/03/2017 15:01

Alfie, I think you've posted similar on these threads already and there has been unanimous support (amongst Leavers on here, anyway) for people in your friends' position.

I know the same can't be said for Leavers across all SM though, and all I can say is that they don't speak for me (although that is no comfort, I do get that).

TM & the EU have said this will be a priority in negotiations, so from next Wednesday we should hopefully see a resolution to the predicament of EU citizens in the UK as well as UK citizens in the EU.

The delays wrt triggering article 50 have unfortunately compounded the uncertainty (although personally I would have liked to see a unilateral statement from UK regardless).

Alfieisnoisy · 20/03/2017 15:03

I know...it's just that Olympia has been rather snide going on about Remainers which made me see red.
I couldn't care less about it all...it needs sorting now and I am glad a date for serving A50 has finally been set.

scottishdiem · 20/03/2017 15:38

"I have a very valid question about the people here under the EU rules who have lives, families and jobs here. Two people I know are good friends of mine and who look so stressed because TM will not address their concerns regarding the future for them."

Brexiters lied about this. They are being used as pawns and using human beings as pawns tells you everything you need to know about those who want Brexit.

boredofbrexit · 20/03/2017 15:50

Hmm leave voters were no more or less party or privy to actions taken since by the government...which imo would never have been taken if TM had got agreement for a reciprocal agreement from other EU countries. We are about to see the true colours of the EU now.

InfiniteSheldon · 20/03/2017 15:50

I have every faith that current EU residents with the right to stay will stay but TM is right to hold out for recriprocal (sp) rights blame the EU for refusing not TM who has already offered it

SemiPermanent · 20/03/2017 16:02

Le yawn.

I hold out with untempered optimism for the day that certain posters don't feel the need to have a pop at 'those who want Brexit'.

surferjet · 20/03/2017 16:08

Absolutely - but that doesn't mean you have the right to harass, bully, & attack leavers.
Freedom of speech is one thing, what's been happening on these threads is another.
Freedom of speech my arse. You just wanted somewhere to attack leavers.

Roll on next Wednesday 🍾

Bear, you don't seem to understand how things work.
You can demand answers, you can jump up and down, you can be angry and hectoring. We are under no obligation to take any notice of you. Feel free to continue. In, please continue as I find it amusing.
I think in reality you must be delighted we are finally leaving that bunch of corrupt officials and politicians called the EU. Every sensible person I know is pleased.
Now, move on.

Tryingtosaveup · 20/03/2017 16:25

olympia, this is a calm and accepting thread.
It even tolerates Bearbehind and h/ her aggression. Generally the company and beer are good.
And there is a big Union Jack flying outside.

FickleMatter · 20/03/2017 16:42

Infinite - 'I have every faith that current EU residents with the right to stay will stay'.

I assume you were trying to be reassuring but I have no idea what you are trying to say here. Do you actually mean:

'I have every faith that current EU residents with the right to stay will be allowed to stay'?

...because I fucking hope so, if people have been granted permanent residence (which would grant them the right to stay), otherwise we have a human rights crisis on an even grander scale.

Just because you match the conditions for permanent residence, if you have not applied for it, then you will not have the right to stay.

I would hope the debate will focus on EU nationals such as partners of British nationals and/or parents of British children who currently do not match the very draconian conditions for permanent residence.

Personally, I have zero faith that current EU residents with the right to stay will want to stay' considering the current climate in the UK.

boredofbrexit · 20/03/2017 16:55

Then why are you moaning Fickle, for fickles sake?Confused

Today is International Day of Happiness. How appropriate!Grin

FickleMatter · 20/03/2017 16:58

Bored, I was just highlighting that Infinite's statement was meaningless if it was trying to offer reassurance.

boredofbrexit · 20/03/2017 17:01

Bet she wishes she hadn't bothered.

FickleMatter · 20/03/2017 17:06
