Theaspizzashop · 10/11/2016 14:30

"This is a friendly, calm, laid back thread for everyone. Nothing too heavy goes on here."

What a shit idea for a thread, so naff. I'd much rather frequent an English coffeehouse thread where the absence of cheap ale allows for more serious and politically enlightened conversation. . Stick your Wine where the sun doesn't shine, i'll have myself a Brew

BoredofBrexit · 10/11/2016 14:33

😂😂😂😂 All sorts about today.

Theaspizzashop · 10/11/2016 14:41

Cxc79 Grin Grin

Bored i can imagine your lot don't like "all sort" that's what your shitty little 'arms' is all about, innit? Giving 'all sorts' the look if they dare to open the door to your 'establishment' and don't happen to have the right shade of white skin or don't have heavy local accents, eh? Your rather want 'all sorts' visitors out than in. By all means close yourselves into your 'brexit arms' and reassure each other that the absence of education, experience and critical thinking is mhk. Boring echo chamber, if you ask me.
Bye.

howabout · 10/11/2016 14:43

vulpe perhaps consult Keith Vaz on the difference between exploitation and trafficking and working privately for the washing machine repair man as I am told he has far more knowledge on these matters than I. Looks like the ideal candidate for the Justice Select Committee. Hmm

howabout · 10/11/2016 14:44

Surfer I feel the need to order a very large bucket of gin to wash my mouth out with. Also if you are cleaning the pipes some brain bleach may be in order.

Bearbehind · 10/11/2016 14:47

howabout, I'm on my phone so can't watch it.

Can you tell us how leaving the EU is going to resolve that situation?

howabout · 10/11/2016 14:51

Tempting as it is .......... oh ok then. I thought it was only Lexiteers like me who couldn't be bothered to get off their personal devices and research issues properly.

Sorry MN. Feel free to delete me for unsporting conduct. Blush

Bearbehind · 10/11/2016 14:54

See, this is exactly the problem howabout You make claims you can't substantiate.

I'm on a train, I can't go off and 'research' issues right now.

If you felt sufficiently strongly to post the Glasgow issue as an example of immigration issues, surely you can summarise how leaving the EU will address that issue?

vulpeculaveritas · 10/11/2016 14:55

Howabout, I'm not sure I understand your point?

Bearbehind · 10/11/2016 14:57

vulpe it's looking very much like how doesn't actually have a point because she can't tell us how leaving the EU will address the problem of people who are already under the radar.

RedToothBrush · 10/11/2016 14:58

Jesus wept.

You do realise that Trump is advocating low tax for business. This would benefit business people like him MORE than the working class. It means the inequality gap between richest and poorest is unlikely to shrink.

But then the very poorest didn't vote for Trump though did they? Despite the narrative that they did. The middle incomes and the richest voted Trump. Of course part of the reason for this, is down to the fact that the poorest happen to be disproportionately ethnic minorities. Who are likely to suffer even more under Trump. The rich voted for Trump. More than voted for Clinton.

The Republicans value things like repealing Obamacare. We don't quite understand this here in the UK because of our love of the NHS. Inequality in health care is not seen as a bad thing by Republicans. Its seen as a 'business opportunity'. This does not improve life quality or expectancy for the poorest.

When Trump won, currency plunged. But the beneficiaries in stocks were the likes of Goldman Sachs. Indeed Steve Mnuchin, Trump's finance chairman and formerly of Goldman Sachs is tipped for the treasury.

There are plenty of other businessmen who are also tipped for positions. All millionaires.

And many of the political elite of the Republican party are set to be party of the plan too, in one way or another.

All people you would consider the illuminati. I'm not sure that Rupert Murdoch is too concerned about a Trump victory either. It just means more opportunity for him and Fox becoming more important.

I find it amazing this idea that the 'illuminati' are somehow hurting. All it is, is a challenge to liberalism throughout the world. It funny how its happened at a time when global corporations are being threatened with having to pay their fair share with tax to get into the EU because of liberal thinking.

You could be forgiven for thinking that actually the illuminati rather like Trump and could be merely a good opportunity for them, rather than a threat to them.

The illuminati, I would suggest are unlikely to be big fans of liberal thinking and much prefer authoritarianism as it allows them to keep control.

But you know. The Illuminati have been defeated.
Confused

IamWendy · 10/11/2016 15:04

Ugh, another wall of text from red. I'm too busy working on my cheer leader costume to wade through that. Go! Go! BrexitCHEERS!

Bearbehind · 10/11/2016 15:05

wendy I don't think I've ever read a single serious, sensible comment from you on this subject Hmm

IamWendy · 10/11/2016 15:10

Well, don't hold your breath for one in the brexit arms thread. I come here to hang out with fellow leavers, not face an inquisition.

vulpeculaveritas · 10/11/2016 15:10

I agree red, it is paradoxical that both the Trump and Brexit movements are being heralded as victories for the working classes against the elites, its almost Orwellian.

BoredofBrexit · 10/11/2016 15:10

I think someone has defaced the pub sign.

OP posts:
vulpeculaveritas · 10/11/2016 15:24

"'The Brexit Arms' is now open. Friendly cosy pub with log fire for leavers & remainers to chat & ponder life, the universe, & Brexit!"

Wasn't that the original thread title?

Or is this now just for team leave?

time4chocolate · 10/11/2016 15:26

Bored- what sort of establishment are you running here!! Wink

Theaspizzashop · 10/11/2016 15:37

"Ugh, another wall of text from red." Lol

Knowing the facts and expressing your views in an informed manner requires reading text. But then reading and writing are sooooooooo elite and establishment, aren't they? Really, why should people have to read, or, god forbid, study for years....down with the experts mhm to make yourselves feel better that you are unable to grasp the basics of economics and political sciences.

I suppose rather than reading and informing yourselves you prefer sitting in your 'arms' all day debating the finer points of the latest Daily Fail headline and feeding the juke box to play vintage tunes whilst slowly getting pissed to numb your minds. Ever so charming. Smile

BoredofBrexit · 10/11/2016 15:49

Hey! Surfer is the landlady. I only opened up for her as she'd held a lock in, overslept and the juke box got stuck on the bloody proclaimers so the neighbours complained to the council. I was just covering WW shift!!!
