Are there are some very sore losers after the EU Ref result?

Should we now challenge parliamentary elections too if we don't like the result on the basis that some people are too lower class/poor/stupid to make a proper first time vote?

Or could that be a tad arrogant and patronising to the the section of the electorate that cast their vote and won, 'ignorant numpties' or not?

President Obama said in his speech that the UK would not be at the back of the queue as far as the U.S. is concerned!

Oh, yippee. That's hardly a benefit of Brexit. We wouldn't have been at the back of the queue if we'd stayed in, and we'd have had all the advantages of being part of a major trading bloc with some real negotiating muscle.

If that's the best anyone can come up with by way of benefits, I'll carry on worrying, thanks.

And it wouldn't have hurt the Remain campaign to have recognised the social issues a long time before there was a referendum in this country.

How, given that of necessity the Remain Campaign didn't exist before the referendum was planned? Sure, it definitely wouldn't have hurt the Conservatives to recognise that, but for sure the Labour side of the campaign were only too well aware of those issues.

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 27/06/2016 11:35

Judy you are confusing the Conservative Party and the people who voted them and their austerity program into power, with the "Remain" campaign.

seems there's a lot of that about though. Sad

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 27/06/2016 11:37

sorry not Judy who's confuse.

Its me and whoever said And it wouldn't have hurt the Remain campaign to have recognised the social issues a long time before there was a referendum in this country.

(I could really do with a day in bed)

kirinm · 27/06/2016 11:37

Pound has dropped again. Which counters the bullshit UKIP comments people were posting last week.

flippinada · 27/06/2016 11:38

Quote from Stewart Jackson MP, Conservative MP for Peterborough in response to a Remain supporter:

"Suck it up Whiner"

WINNERS LIST

  • BigTobacco
  • BigParma (most of whom are based in EU)
  • A few people who know how to make money out of fluctuating currency rates etc (who will probably all be based in Europe this time next year).
  • Racists who think they have won some validation.
Myusernameismyusername · 27/06/2016 11:41

I don't know why people are surprised there is such a big divide in the Uk and expect it to go away now it's all over and done with so to speak. I've been told countlessly to stick together as Brits now, but seen as I wasn't the one who wanted to leave anything what exactly am I supposed to be sticking to?

BreakingDad77 · 27/06/2016 11:43

So say Labour won the general election and within 24hrs of winning they privatise the NHS, and your saying people would just have to suck it up and stop whining.

seriously!? this is the magnitude of the U-turns going on.

smallfox1980 · 27/06/2016 12:33

Really sore losers.

Who were right.

Pound lower than Friday's low, stock market down, interest rates forecast to fall even further ( happy pensioners?).

Ifyoubuildit · 27/06/2016 12:41

Sore loser here.

It's alright though because we've taken back control.

Now will someone please explain what that means. Sorry, if I'm being dim...

sorenofthejnaii · 27/06/2016 12:43

The £ to Dollar rate is back to 2009 rates at the moment.

If you look at the FTSE index, it's early days to make long term predictions but you can read for yourself what you think it shows.

Are there are some very sore losers after the EU Ref result?

You mustn't ask that. Because you've been told 100 times already. Or you're being a moany whiner. Or you're a bully. Or (my personal favourite) you're self aggrandising. Grin

smallfox1980 · 27/06/2016 12:48

Or "Sheeple" which was my favourite, or engaging in project fear.

Yeah look at the markets, look at the pound, look at a country without a leader and an opposition in implosion.

Yeah, we were soo wrong.

flippinada · 27/06/2016 13:35

Yes.

Turns out "Project Fear" was more like "Project Oh Fuck this is Actually Happening"

originalmavis · 27/06/2016 15:15

Oh well, I got my first Mumsnet jabby finger 'Its people like yooooo' today from a brexiteer with her knickers wedged up her own arse.

Not sure whether to be proud of fucked off. Bit of both I suppose. I'm too pissed off to even respond.

Is that the best you've got? 'short term pain, long term gain'. What long term gain exactly?

I'm sick of the Leave brigade talking in their simpleton soundbites.

MotherOfBleach · 27/06/2016 15:38

What's the longterm gain?

I'm confused about that part. I can't see any gain. I can only see the pain part.

JudyCoolibar · 27/06/2016 15:41

No, I'm not, HisNameWasPrince. Have another look.

Oops, sorry, HisNameWas. Now seen your subsequent post. Blush

JudyCoolibar · 27/06/2016 15:48

It was always going to be short term pain, for long term gain! Now.... grow a pair you miserable shits!

I'm sure that's going to be a massive consolation to people currently losing their jobs, houses and livelihoods. But hey, they should just grow a pair and everything will be absolutely fine.

Honestly, if that is a demonstration of the thinking capacity of the average Leave voter, you can see why people aren't too impressed.

JudyCoolibar · 27/06/2016 15:49

Incidentally, is anyone else Confused by the number of aggressive types who think that, on a predominantly female board, it's makes any sense at all to tell people to "grow a pair"?
