Faisal Islam says he was told this a couple of hours ago

And why don't they have one? Boris never expected to win.

(Anna Soubry MP)

As evidenced by the complete lack of leadership about this hugely important and divisive issue post-referendum. No plan, no action, and where is Boris?

What an omnishambles.

Patty

I'm afraid that ain't no plan...it's a collection of possibilities

PattyPenguin · 26/06/2016 21:51

Show I'm sorry, the description "plan" was meant to be somewhere between extreme generosity and sarcasm - which doesn't really come over in text.

I'm not sure the possibilities are even very possible, either.

RiceCrispieTreats · 26/06/2016 21:53

and you'd also need member state leaders willing to speak to him.

Some might be.

Possibly Merkel.
Possibly some of the Central and Eastern European states, depending on how pissed off they are at the anti-immigration stance against their nationals that characterized the vote result, versus how much they want to secure those nationals' future within the UK.

Joysmum · 26/06/2016 21:56

show

Played, yes probably but played in a way that is moving towards what I'd like to see going forwards. I guess that's why I'm not so fussed about dissecting the referendum and more focussed on what I need to do to try to persuade others to share my view on what's needed going forwards.

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 21:58

But nothing stops a UK government leader having bilateral talks with as many of his 27 chums as are willing to open their door to him

I think I read somewhere that the idea that the government had 27 skilled negotiators on tap to bash out this sort of deal was quite funny.

Joy I wish I had your optimism - but I do not. Not just becuase I don't agree with your Leave hopes. Vacuums and lack of leadership can lead to even worse mistakes - and worse leaders

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 22:01

Joy are you suggesting that you were happy to have the racist vote when it helped you achieve a win in the referendum but now you want to ditch the racists and expect the more politically acceptable remain side get you a good trade deal?

Because that would seem quite...well, polite words fail me.

Lua · 26/06/2016 22:02

I am intrigued, Joysmum, how do you see this going forwards?

At the moment we are leaderless, with the three main parties without a clear leader to go forwards. More importantly there is total silence on the leave side of where to go next.

The problem to me is that the instability is what is causing a lot of problems (see attacks on people that do not look British enough including buying of children ). How long do you think the economy can hold without knowing what the plan is, or who is in charge (so they can at least decide if there is hope)?

howtorebuild · 26/06/2016 22:04

If they want directorship positions in banks they will sort out a trade deal with the EU quick. Their banking chums are holding them by the scruff of the neck as are the EU. The public needs to continue the pressure.

Showmethewaytogohome · 26/06/2016 22:05

Howto What? You think they want that shambles?

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 22:10

Who? The 27 non-existent skilled negotiators?

Are you really saying we should negotiate trade deals with 27 different countries in preference to staying in the single market?

OP posts:
Joysmum · 26/06/2016 22:43

show you'd better hope I'm right if you're a Remainer because what I want and predict will is the closest to being in the away as we can get being outside of it. It's the way my circle of acquaintances and friends are in favour of, even if you and yours aren't.

noble I vote in the way I believe in and for the reasons I believe, not because of the Leave campaign (in spite of them as it awful).

What would you have had me do, vote against what I believe is right as a protest against those whose votes aren't for my reasons? Polite words fail me...actually they don't, I'll vote based on my beliefs and nobody else's.

Lua there's no need to be intrigued, just reread my previous posts, In short though, that the Remain vote and those to the centre of the Leave vote will greatly outnumber those whose overriding motives for voting out was immigration and that we'll move to negotiate a free trade agreement with EU accepting that immigration rules remain as they are.

TheBathroomSink · 26/06/2016 22:46

No-one panic - Boris has a plan

Although I'm not sure anyone is going to like it...

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 22:52

Is he on glue? He appears to think that we will get all the benefits of being in the EU at no cost, no need to follow their laws and no free movement of people (except us to them).

Good luck with that, Boris, would love to see you telling Juncker.

Showmethewaytogohome · 26/06/2016 22:53

PMSL - So we as I thought the made up and no choice plan presented is going to have the same conditions without any rights to vote OR any contributions back to our economy- WELL DONE BOZO

Free EU migration btw peeps - soz

Showmethewaytogohome · 26/06/2016 22:56

What I read was
Fuck. Fuckidty Fuck Fuck. Fuck Fuckidty Fuck Fuck. Love to my Europe Buddies

noblegiraffe · 26/06/2016 22:59

What would you have had me do, vote against what I believe is right as a protest against those whose votes aren't for my reasons?

Morally, yes, tbh.

However you didn't even say that. You said you didn't want an exit plan because it might have split the leave vote. You didn't just put your cross in the same box as the racists, you actively used the racist vote to boost yours. And once they had done that, you are prepared to discard them with no thought for what that has done for them. You think your vote won with the help of the racists. They think that the racists won. And look at what that has unleashed on the streets.

Collectively we can not let him get away with this - truths have to be told clearly to those he has lied to

The medja in some areas are not interested - so how? They will dress it for their own aims

RedToothBrush · 26/06/2016 23:06

I read,

Bollocky Waffle. Pretend to be Churchill, Bollocky waffle. No one will see through the fact I still don't have a plan. Bollocky waffle. Say the word unite. Bollocky waffle. Steal some stuff off the Remain copy book. Use the phrase Building Bridges, because that will get them on board. Bollocky waffle. Wave the flag because what we need right now is a bit more patriotism. Bollocky waffle. They won't notice will they. Bollocky waffle. Arf.

RiceCrispieTreats · 26/06/2016 23:07

Oh, he does also want to keep the contributions back to the economy, Showmethewaytogohome. That sentence about "intense cooperation" in arts and science and culture is code for "Keep sending EU grants and subsidies plz!"

YourPerception · 26/06/2016 23:08

UKIP will lynch him. Popcorn anybody?

SanityClause · 26/06/2016 23:09

Trade agreements? Oh babe!

We barely have any trade negotiators in this country.

We have left that to the EU to do for us.

And there aren't all that many British people working for the EU. It's not been a popular career choice, and lots of British people don't speak at least two languages fluently, which is a prerequisite.

As many pointed out during the campaign, the Brexiteers had no plan.

Mistigri · 26/06/2016 23:11

Excellent summary redtoothbrush, I may borrow it ;)

MitzyLeFrouf · 26/06/2016 23:18

Bollocky Waffle for PM!
