I know there will be difficult times ahead.

Staying there was also going to be difficult times afraid.

But I think it's the way forward ! I'm pleased change is on the cards.

...and I work in a school with children with additional needs do I will be taking my skills elsewhere too
Never mind
Schools will be soon be business sponsored academies churning out young adults with no prospect of employment
Can't believe the response to FACTS about the leave lies is "leave then"
I was born here
I'm British
And I used to be proud of my country
No longer
It's the 1970s brain drain over again
As I said - well done

QuintessentialShadows · 25/06/2016 10:36

The headlines in Norwegian national newspapers read:

First the Brits voted, then they went home to Google "What is the EU", and "What does Brexit mean"

Badders123 · 25/06/2016 10:39

I overheard this in IKEA yesterday;
Pensioner to his wife;
"They all tell lies but at least farage tells true lies"
ShockConfusedHmmAngrySad
The fact is (if you check out the voting patterns) that leave voters were mostly;
Older
Not well educated
Not in either pt or ft work
Make of that what you will

MangoMoon · 25/06/2016 10:41

The UK will be left with the uneducated and elderly
Good luck

If that's your attitude to others then we may miss your money but the country will be a nicer place without people like you.

HTH

GinghamPink · 25/06/2016 10:42

Isn't this a thread for brexiters? Yet remainers are still on here making us feel bad. If you have nothing positive to say get off the thread. There's plenty of other threads you can complain on. I'm celebrating op Wine

Badders123 · 25/06/2016 10:43

Quint
Sadly a LOT of leave voters had very little idea what they were voting against as it transpires...
My brothers friend voted leave then asked me if it meant we would use euros now Confused
I also wonder if a lot of the more savvy leave voters thought a no vote would mean better terms from the EU and that they would be desperate for us to stay...

Badders123 · 25/06/2016 10:47

How am I making you feel bad?!
You're celebrating, right?
You are right and I am wrong!
Remain voters like me will be leaving in droves!
That's good, right?
Have a nice day all

FrankUnderwoodsWife · 25/06/2016 10:47

Cote, I don't think many people are celebrating. All of your comments are correct and these are all immediate reactions to the events of the referendum. Short term there will be a lot of termoil in the markets. Economic uncertainty is a killer.

What I was trying to express (maybe badly) is that this may not be such a bad thing for the UK in the long term, and that we should look to the positives and not focus on the negatives.

Two years of uncertainty feels like a long time, but in the grand scheme of things is a relatively short period of time.

I hated all the negativity in the campaign, and hate all the negativity now.
British business should focus on a strategy as to how they can improve their business and in turn, that will help the economy now.

The large proportion of the people who voted leave feel disinfranchised, it will be to everyone's detriment if we don't listen.

Surferjet · 25/06/2016 10:49

It was the day the quiet people of Britain rose up against an arrogant, out-of-touch political class & a contemptuous Brussels elite

Daily Mail headline.
Which is another reason why some people are angry, DM readers have totally got one over on them.

Badders123 · 25/06/2016 10:51

God
Reminds me of "quiet bat people"
Except this isnt a political spoof
Sad

glassgarden · 25/06/2016 10:56

Where will the droves of departing remain voters be setting up home?

Surferjet · 25/06/2016 10:59

Scotland? it is nice up there it has to be said, they'll like it.

Whisky2014 · 25/06/2016 10:59

FYI - In the first 8 hours after the UK referendum result of a #Brexit, the UK lost $350bn, which is a greater amount than they contributed to the EU budget over last 15 years - including the rebate.

Yeh, well done. Clap clap clap.

Actually, no. If you do something shortsighted and cruel you don't get a happy place to talk about it.

Badders123 · 25/06/2016 11:02

I'm half Irish
I will get me and the kids Irish passports and we will relocate - lots of companies will be headed there I expect
I love it there but - it's not home Sad

Surferjet · 25/06/2016 11:02

Actually, no. If you do something shortsighted and cruel you don't get a happy place to talk about it

howtorebuild · 25/06/2016 11:05

I have held in my delight for respect of the losers. I have had enough of the name calling and nastiness from them.

I am fucking delighted we are out and I hope the Greeks and others leave too.

Whisky2014 · 25/06/2016 11:06

Ah so you're greedy then miracle.

MiracletoCome · 25/06/2016 11:08

No... I just bought the right ones.

GinghamPink · 25/06/2016 11:10

FriendofBill
I'm glad bursaries are gone. Students can still do the course and I'm sure plenty will, they will just been replaced with student loans instead, and if there hadn't been bursaries when I did it, I would still do the course because I was passionate about becoming a nurse. When I was a student nurse unfortunately there were people on my course who said they were only doing it because it was a 'free degree' they weren't caring people, in my mind getting rid of bursaries will help to sift out these people and ensure people do the course because they actually care and want that career.

On the eu referendum - its over now, remainers may not be happy about it but don't come to a thread specifically stating brexiters come celebrate, and then give the spiel of how uneducated we are. It's just rude. We have different opinions, that's life, stop bashing brexiters

Iwantawhippet · 25/06/2016 11:11

Shock from me too. It seemed like remain would win. And more shock at the vitriol post the vote. But I feel sad that many people from overseas are feeling unwelcome post the vote. I believe that the uk benefits massively from immigration, but there need to be limits and the EU has made appropriate limits impossible.

I guess that not much will change - eu projects and agriculture will be funded by the UK government instead. We will be free to ditch EU legislation we don't want. We can make trade agreements with whoever wants to trade with us - Korea, Japan, China, Canada, the US. Maybe the EU. And when we can't make agreements then the WTO rules are for 3-4% tariffs. And most people from the EU who live here will continue to work here, pay taxes, but houses. But gradually we can reassert UK sovereignty.

A few people have been asking why anyone would vote remain. There is a good speech by Gisele Stuart on the leave website. I think her main reasons were that after negotiating an EU agreement she felt that the EU served a small elite. Also looking at the direction of travel, the aim of the EU is for ever-closer integration and Many people in the UK don't want that.

RortyCrankle · 25/06/2016 11:51

For anyone leaving the country, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.

I suggest we ignore any negative posts on this thread and continue our celebration. Wine

ChipStix · 25/06/2016 12:05

video for panicking remainers - it's alright
