We had a record-breaking 72% of the population take part :)

Our sovereignty will be restored

The first General Election in decades that will truly be about how the country is governed

MPs will be directly held accountable

We can plan a proper strategy for immigration and allocate resources to avoid overloading services

We can have a fair immigration strategy

We can be more versatile and responsive to world economic changes

We can decide how to spend our national resources

House prices are projected to fall meaning more people will be able to first time buy

There will be downward pressure on prices of goods as import terms (we buy more in than we sell out) can be negotiated directly with UK

There will be inward investment as many manufacturers will prefer a UK base rather than their current EU base

What other positives are there?

Yeah. 'Proper strategy for immigration' - just going to leave this here. It's Daniel Hannan on last night's Newsnight admitting they lied about curbing the free movement of immigration. So no money for the NHS, and no curbs to immigration then. Hope you're all still 'really excited'... Hmm

Fenella
I watched that last night and thought "now the backtracking starts". The key leave politicos starting to scuff out all the lines in the sand the had drawn. Now it's free movement of people = bad but free movement of labour = not so bad.
What was that about coming over here and taking our jobs...Hmm

green18 · 25/06/2016 16:36

I agree op. Brexit party tonight with my neighbours! On Thursday night there were so many smug and patronising remain voters saying things like , "this time tomorrow the thick idiots will have been silenced." I laughed my head off when we won. Cheers all, here's to a brighter future as part of Europe but not ruled by Europe Wine Cheers!

TheElementsSong · 25/06/2016 20:56

I think it's disgusting and disgraceful that the Bremainers want Britain to fail and seem determined to will that failure into reality.

I said this on another thread, already Leave voters are lining up their excuses if the situation goes bad - it's all because those mean people didn't hold hands and squeeze their eyes shut and BELIEVE enough.

If I had that kind of power, I'd have willed myself a few million US dollars and a gold-plated unicorn by now.

hazeyjane · 25/06/2016 21:06

Positives, hmmm.....
....well we are all going to finally be able to have hover boots, under 9s will be able to own their own unicorn and every citizen of Britain has to wear a rainbow boiler suit.

PerpendicularVincent · 25/06/2016 21:39

A Brexit party, you say green. Is it fancy dress? Can I come as a rise in unemployment and a fall in scientific funding?

hazeyjane · 25/06/2016 21:44

There was already a Brexit party in our street (with a fucking firework no less) The man who hosted it has been in fancy dress all year, dressed as a witless UKIP-er.

PerpendicularVincent · 25/06/2016 22:39
Grin
Blueflowers2011 · 26/06/2016 08:59

Brexit party people, that's wonderful! Did you decorate the streets in union jack flags and segregate with signs saying 'No Immigrants allowed' whilst singing Roll Out The Barrel?

lasttimeround · 26/06/2016 09:05

I'm looking forward to job losses, need to spend a bundle recruiting civil servants to deal with negotiations at a time of publication service cuts already, rising xenophobia as brexiters realise we can't actually keep immigration down even outside the EU because globalisation, a falling pound with interest rates already so low the government as almost no room at all to lower them to stimulate investment.

lasttimeround · 26/06/2016 09:08

Oh yeah and everyone who says we warned you will be accused of sabotaging this great new beginning due to sour grapes or of not having said our warnings loudly and clearly enough to the leave voters because experts who needs em?

lasttimeround · 26/06/2016 09:09

But la la la let's just be positive and it'll all be fine.

Blueflowers2011 · 26/06/2016 09:10

'Those with no education tended to vote Brexit' - Telegraph results analysis.
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/24/eu-referendum-how-the-results-compare-to-the-uks-educated-old-an/

I rest my case.

And yes, I am one of the ones who will laugh. And laugh. And laugh in front of the Leave people once they feel the effects.

Totally embarrassed to be English. Ovaries, Im with you. Nicer people with superior ethics and mostly a brain are far nicer to be around..

Highlandfling80 · 26/06/2016 09:11

Really looking forward to negative equity and the Union collapsing.

lovemyway · 26/06/2016 09:15

Just a reality check. Prior to the vote, the Bank of England said there was a 20 to 30% chance of recession if things stayed the same. Of course if it happens now it will be blamed on the leave vote. Why I am most cross about is the lack of preparation for this. Westminster are like headless chickens. My god what a mess!

lovemyway · 26/06/2016 09:15

what not why

green18 · 26/06/2016 09:18

Yes blue my Brexit party was a hit and for your information. My guests, who are neighbours, were a teacher, an educational psychologist, a business owner and an engineer. Uneducated? Hmm

echt · 26/06/2016 09:22

*My guests, who are neighbours, were a teacher, an educational psychologist, a business owner and an engineer. Uneducated?

SFW.

Reapwhatyousow · 26/06/2016 09:27

Lovely optimistic article in today's Sunday Times. 98% of the UK's growing exports are outside Europe. Nowhere else in the world is the EU model copied.

green18 · 26/06/2016 09:28

My point is that they are not uneducated people, as lots on here seem to be saying about leave voters.

echt · 26/06/2016 09:30

Nowhere else in the world is the EU model copied.

So why so many countries going to get in?

echt · 26/06/2016 09:31

Fukkit.

Gagging, not going.

captainfarrell · 26/06/2016 09:36

France, the Netherlands, Austria, Finland and Hungary could leave.

smallfox1980 · 26/06/2016 09:36

Green, but the overall data of voters points to that the young and educated voted remain. There are always exceptions to the rule.

The EU model isn't "copied anywhere else" might be because no where else is Europe isn't it? Without the federal government, the United States is pretty similar.

green18 · 26/06/2016 09:41

*Green, but the overall data of voters points to that the young and educated voted remain. There are always exceptions to the rule.

Of course and many, many exceptions in this case. Less of 'a rule' I feel but more of a blatant, belligerent, stereotype.
