Is it just me who's fed up with various contacts on Facebook (and yes it's always the same ones) constantly posting stuff about why everyone should be voting for Remain? It seems like every other post is something to do with it and it's getting really tiresome. Even if I was undecided I think it would get on my tits.

Yes I know I can turn it off!

Yes, I've noticed this!

And a lot of it is accompanied by the tone of "I must change the minds of the Leave voters by insulting their intelligence and telling them how mad they must be"!

We should swap friends as my FB is the other way. I'm a Remainer and the Brexiteers are posting relentlessly.
I'll be bloody glad when it's all over and my newsfeed will fill back up with pics of kittens wearing bras 'n' stuff.

Amen to that Harriet. Tbh I don't want to read about it constantly regardless of which side they're on. It's bloody everywhere!

Due to my work I'm not allowed a public opinion on it, I've hidden many friends from my feed through fear of an angry outburst after some vino Grin

I like the posts listing a long list of people that want to remain, followed by a short random list of people that want to leave. It doesn't even list names in some cases, just 'random economics group'. Very convincing. Grin

Worst I saw was a friend posting some sort of tool that identifies people who liked any pics from Britain First. OBVIOUSLY I am appalled by Britain First but I thought it was a pretty sinister tool. I suggested she should post a tool for free masons or other secret societies (I have nice friends that are masons and have no problem with them being in it)
The point is, its all got so dirty, sanctimonious and obnoxious.
Ah well, I have family who died in the wars, they would kick my @rse for selling out to some mega eu so nope, gotta leave.

I can't post due to my job but I can see why people are - if the poles are correct the uk could be about to make a very bad decision indeed. If you don't like just hide it from your news feed.

If running down my street naked resulted in a guarantee remain would win I would do it, seriously.

The may be bureaucratic but in it we can have influence and it's also resulted in peace in western Europe for over 60 years.

No, NATO has kept the peace in Europe for over 60 years; the EU in its current form has only existed since the Lisbon treaty.

I've got one who has posted practically every day about their journey to a decision. It's involved at least 2 changes of heart, lectures and 'helpful' advice on how to make our choice.

Amazing typo in your first paragraph BreadWidow Grin - also, telling Brexiters they're making a bad decision won't help your cause. You just sound sanctimonious and that is more likely to work against you (unless you're a secret Brexit fan who's trying out some reverse psychology?)

Im finding it hard to believe the polls are so close if my FB is any indication! I'm still on the fence but won't be swayed by people putting up pictures of Rik Mayall and saying that is a Britain First evil plan to take over the world.

Kinkytoes I work for a well known national charity, we are remaining neutral. Our personal social media accounts, what we say to clients, they must remain neutral as our opinions may be taken as that of the charity.

I particularly like the ones from solidly middle class people about how working class culture has been hi-jacked by Brexit. So bloody patronising.

I still don't know how I will vote but the stench of piousness (don't think that is a word but hey ho) is utterly repellant.

I'm sorry about my terrible typo, it was late, ill toddler etc. And on phone. I mean polls, as you know! Of course I think remain is the way to go, so I think we are on the brink of making a bad decision. Leavers on the other hand think it's an amazing opportunity. Feelings are running high and people post on their social media.

I'm a civil servant & lots of my friends know this and who I work for. Now we are in purdah the govt cannot release any info that could sway the vote either side. It's probably OK if I post stuff on Facebook, but it's a grey area as civil servants above a certain grade (which is my grade) cannot campaign for any political party.

Though its name and form have changed the EU began in 1951 when the European coal & steel community was set up that became the EEC, then the EC & finally the EU. Preventing right wing nationalism which was seen as the driving reason behind ww1/2 was a key goal from the beginning. NATO was key to Western Europe's defence against the USSR but the ESCC /ECC/EC/EU terms of preventing war between the countries of Western Europe.

Sorry red herring, in terms of Facebook, if you don't like the political posts unfollow/hide/block even. No need to moan, you can avoid seeing it if you don't like it. Or just don't read it. Dimples.

Bloody hell must read my posts through first, last sentence of third para was meant to say the EU (and its former incarnations) has been / is key to preventing conflict between western (and now all) European countries. War between EU members now seems unimaginable which is no mean feat considering our history.

Oh yeah. It's the remainders who are most vocal on my feed. I've blocked a few people because the ranting about how Leavers were all racists or people who obviously just aren't as enlightened as they are was getting nauseating. And the posts about how immigration is great for the country, with no acknowledgement that it's not great for everyone, by middle class professionals who never see the impact of stretched services, is a bit much.
