Nothing on here,or am I wrong,I'm a newbie so be patient with me.
Anyhow here goes it's the Referendum on the European Union on the 23 June this year.
I'm voting Leave.
How's about you guys?

Again Daisy fails to back up her view with any evidence of why brecxit would benifit the UK. My professional experience gained across multiple industries that I have shared with you leaves me in no doubt that I shall vote to remain. Of course I urge all of you to vote to remain such that we can go on to prosper and not end up as a washed up backwater.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3520002/Safety-alert-EU-blocks-vital-checks-doctors-qualifications-Concern-cards-medics-come-force-2018.html
The EU decides to not allow checks on medics to be employed in our NHS hospitals.
You just couldn't make it up.
Even more reason to vote leave on the 23 rd of June.

In what way are 28 other countries problems hanging around our neck? Furthermore how would exiting the EU remove these problems if they existed? Any actual detailed examples without referencing the dubious press releases of the fragmented leave campaign?

Daisyonthegreen · 02/04/2016 23:32

Engineers thumb
We are the 5th largest economy in the world.
You are despicable in your lack of confidence in this country.
We will become a third world country if we remain in the cess pit EU.
I will not bandy words with you
We must agree in the time honoured fashion to differ.

More lunacy from the rotten ,not fit for purpose EU.Vote Leave.

Can we afford to be the NHS for the world,I think not.

I'll be watching with interest tomorrow as the removal of migrants from Greece shows what a complete shower the EU is. It has had 4 years to formulate a practical response to the syrian war refugees. 4 years! Daisy is right, the EU is not fit for purpose.

KarlosKKrinkelbeim · 03/04/2016 12:14

I would like to vote leave as the EU as an institution is one I find repulsive on every level. The financial mismanagement (and that's an understatement), the over-regulation and meddling in industries and laws they don't understand, the job creation for and enrichment of establishment non-entities like Kinnock cannot fail to disgust any right-thinking person. But the fact is that leaving will hurt us over the short to medium term. It will kill financial services which is a huge part of our economy and entirely dependent on EU directive passporting rights. I'll probably lose my job and struggle to find another. And with a family to support, including a child with a disability who will probably never be independent, I can't contemplate that.

AnnaForbes · 03/04/2016 12:29

I run a business, a successful one, partly built on requirements that the EU dictates. The need for the services we provide will probably decrease overnight if we leave. I'm still voting leave because I fear what the future holds for my children if we stay.

Chalalala · 03/04/2016 13:34

sorry to hear that Karlos, but thanks for an honest perspective. Hope it all turns out ok for you and your family.

HelpfulChap · 03/04/2016 15:27

I am increasingly confident that the UK will see sense and Vote Leave.

Cameron has told Turkey that he is their biggest advocate for EU membership.

Madness.

Daisyonthegreen · 03/04/2016 16:05

Helpful Chap
I would hope so,however we must not be complacent.Like Anna on here I have concerns for the future,we must galvanise ourselves, speak to people,be proactive and hope the UK liberates itself from this ridiculous EU.

OP posts:
HelpfulChap · 03/04/2016 17:51

Oh, don't worry, I am evenagelical about getting out.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3521383/Report-shows-NHS-nearly-breaking-point-massive-influx-EU-migrants-forces-doctors-1-5million-extra-patients-just-three-years.html

We are a generous country but our infrastructure cannot cope,we must be pragmatic or we risk turning ourselves into a third world country in a relatively short time.

OP posts:
engineersthumb · 03/04/2016 20:31

Karlos
Can you name any examples of industry over regulation? In my industry(marine navigation) the harmonisation of national regulation has made business and export so much easier. As a result we stand as world leaders. I find it terrible that individuals keep sighting "Red tape" and "over regulation" without backing it up with any qualified example!
Daisy it speaks volumes that you throw personalised insults at me whilst regurgitating links to the gutter press. Why not speak of your own experiences, tell us in detail how your life would be made better by leaving the EU on a day to say basis -I suspect that you will just regurgitate some UKIP falsehood of making our own laws!
You acuse me of not having confidence in my country but I have the confidence to say that we must embrace a shrinking world inorder to prosper. I've fought for my country, I've run a small business and I've gone on to contribute to the tech economy in an export driven rigidly regulated industry and I know that come May it is imperative that we vote to remain in the EU.

Engineers thumb I seem to recall you using expletives on this post.
I on the other hand have not insulted you,I am amazed at your incredulity.
The links are not as you refer, that is a lazy slur and beneath argument.
You seem to want to keep us in thrall to an unelected beaureaucratic rotten system so I doubt your care for this country.
I know businessmen who cannot wait to leave the stifling EU.
There are also thousands of ex service personnel who cannot wait to vote leave.
Again I say in time honoured fashion we must agree to differ.

There is a very good article in the Telegraph by Simon Heffer saying how leaving the EU would benefit us.
I have used up my amount of viewings so cannot post it.Will try to do so in future or try and view it yourselves.

OP posts:
engineersthumb · 03/04/2016 23:48

You will find that I did not use fowel language. However someone did whilst expressing similar views. On the other hand I believe you recently called my view disgusting!
Back to the EU debate though can you give an example from your life where you would see an improvement by exiting the EU - not a news story but an actual example?
My tone may appear combative - its an imotive issue but I am genuinely interested.

butteredmuffin · 04/04/2016 09:11

I haven't read this thread so apologies if this has already been covered.

Daisy - if we vote to leave, do you see us remaining part of the single market under some kind of EEA deal like Norway or giving up access to the single market and going it completely alone?

Chalalala · 04/04/2016 09:17

Daisy that Express article reads like a parody of tabloid journalism in its use of biased, melodramatic sensationalism... dear lord, it's actually worse than the Daily Mail Confused

Daisyonthegreen · 04/04/2016 10:34

The intransigence of the EU is disturbing,
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3522255/British-Steel-revived-new-plans.html
We need to be able to save our jobs,we need to be out of the undemocratic, bureaucratic uncaring, not fit for purpose EU.

OP posts:

Daisy - I have a strict "no click" policy when it comes to the Daily Mail.

You might be interested to know that the EU wanted to impose a tariff on China to stop heavily subsidised Chinese steel from flooding Europe and destroying the EU's (including the UK's) steel industries. Guess who blocked it? That's right, we did.
