Has anyone used the Boots recycling scheme?

If so can I recycle tablet packets? The white plastic ones with foil on the back that the tablet is pushed through?

I can’t find them on the list but am sure they were on the poster that I saw in store.

I don’t visit a branch often so don’t want to start collecting them if they’re not part of the scheme.

Superdrug staores with pharmacy have boxes for blister pack recycling. No points but as it is only for blister packs I am more confident that it may actually get recycled. Less faff.

Boots recycling bins are separate so one is only for blister packs. (And gains points).

My Boots recycling app does not seem to have the toggle for beauty<>blisterpacks...so I'm stumped - I just thought I'd try it today.

ProfessorBinturong · 05/08/2026 10:26

The toggle is at the very top right. Easy to miss.

And contact lens packaging.

Now realise that no toggle anymore, just add as for beauty but say "other" for brand and choose Blister pack...allgood. Thank you all

You receive £5 worth of points for signing up to the advent calendar wait list, no obligation to buy https://www.boots.com/christmas/advent-calendars/advent-calendar-waiting-list

Ooh - thanks for the tip!

I’ve just done this , any idea when the points arrive ? No indication online ?
Thankyou for the tip by the way !

You have to buy the calendar to get the points

the points are awarded when you actually buy one of the calendars after they launch (or during the launch window), rather than given completely free just for entering an email address.

ProfessorBinturong · 08/08/2026 08:50

That's not what the linked page says. It says points for signing up to the wait list. Not points for purchase. And it's not well worded but I think the points are issued when the calendars launch.

Edit: if you've found Ts&C sthat say differently, could you link or screenshot please?

Yeah I think it’s to stop people signing up and then unsubscribing immediately. You have to stay signed up until they’re available for sale. It says “no obligation to buy” so not sure where PP read that points come when you buy the calendar. The calendars often have often offers on them better than £5 throughout the winter season so it wouldn’t be an incentive to buy. Just posted because of the free points and thought people in this thread might be interested.

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/08/2026 20:15

Oh! Great in that case, that’s how they’ve done it in previous years but must be different this year 🎉

They’ve changed the box! Is that because they’ve launched now, and people who signed up beforehand will still get the points without purchasing? I’m so glad you took a screenshot @ProfessorBinturong

Launch for the early signers up has happened, so that offer will have closed.
