Hi!

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for yummy vegan cookbooks?

I have found a lot of great blogs online and have rediscovered my interest in cooking due to researching veganism. I have also watched Cowspiracy etc and do believe it's the right thing to do as well as the healthiest. I cannot call myself a vegan but I am very low meat/dairy and getting lower all the time.

I had an ephinany about how much biased info there is out there when my sister pointed out that protein deficiency just isn't a thing except for people who are starving. But yet everyone is obsessed with protein!

I have not got it, but have heard numerous positive raves about <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/Thug-Kitchen-Eat-Like-Give/0751555517/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488324466&sr=8-2&keywords=vegan%20cookbook&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">//www.amazon.co.uk/d/Books/Thug-Kitchen-Eat-Like-Give/0751555517/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488324466&sr=8-2&keywords=vegan%20cookbook&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 - bit sweary, so I'll think of something else if you mind that!

Dr.Greger of //www.NutritionFacts.org for unbiased simple reporting re food health.

Thanks, I've heard of that book actually (it keeps coming up when I browse Amazon) and I certainly don't mind swearing so might give it a go.

Thanks for the nutrition info link, I'll have a read.

A general point: It's funny; I've always thought it was kind of odd to drink cows milk but a lot of people seem convinced that its good for them. It makes me congested and when I think about it it's just kind of gross. I have this friend who tells me she needs a glass after/before a run for energy and I'm just like Hmm

Also vegan. Although we are going to get chickens soon so I will be going back to eggs. Nut rivulet is my saviour for vegan food - use it for everything from juice to hummus to cakes.

Hello! Think I'm a bit late to the party, but wonder if I could join?

I am not vegan yet, but am trying, slowly to amble my way there. At the minute I try to do veggie at the weekend and either vegan or meat and dairy free on weekdays, (I sometimes have eggs or honey and I haven't even started thinking about cleaning products and cosmetics etc properly yet).

I am thinking about just cutting out dairy now completely. I don't think I miss milk or cheese, but have always been partial to butter. Hopefully I can manage without it though.

Oh sorry! Just realised this is from march, not April! Really, really late to the party - ignore me Grin.
