What's a good name for a tutoring business?

I am giving this some thought as a potential business venture - 11+ and CE tutition mainly.

Help me to come up with a great name. So many out there are terribly
uninspiring...like Aspire Tutors or Champion Tutors.

DS(6) has come up with Dalmation Tutors and that's the best we've got so far - '101 ways to success' [finger in mouth pretending to be sick emoticon].

Unfortunately it appears that you can't have the '*' in the domain name .

that may not really be a problem
astartuition.co.uk and .com are taken but .org. .org.uk etc. are still available
On your business card you could have
A* Tuition
www.astartuition.org

and the same in an advert in a local paper

I know it's been said before, but I still think that using your name, or possibly your initials (or even your children's initials) could work.

Something like T&M Tuition (for example)...

yes I like it, it is very good. It stands out, has the quality of excellence with beautiful and education with minds. Also there was that movie "A Beautiful Mind" and the BBC documentary "Beautiful Minds". Very good indeed. Have you got the domain?

thedollyridesout · 26/06/2010 21:48

Thank you so much for your help claig. I'll let you know when I'm up and running.

excellent, it is a very very good name, so please register it immediately. You can always move it from the host at a later date. Don't forget that many people may be reading this and also thinking that it is a good name.

thedollyridesout · 26/06/2010 22:34

I've done it! I've just paid for 5 years hosting .

I actually run a tutoring agency called Advantage Tutors and it's doing very well!:)Though TBH I wasn't that struck on that at first. It's important to have a name that trips easily off the tongue when you answer the phone, and doesn't take too long to type!!:o
Good luck, whatever you call yourself!
