Best individual exam results people have heard of this year

What is the best individual set of results you are aware of this year?

GCSE England

10 x 9

Saw one kid got 14 A stars ( unclear what that means- assume all 9/8- possibly all 9 ). He got up at 4am to revise every day for 2 yrs. Some people have very driven kids is all I can say [looks at DS binging Outer Banks].

A set of twins in a local town got 23 grade A stars & A's, also two B's between them.
Wales not England though....

My colleagues only child got 10 x grade 9s. He is so very proud of them.

No, in Wales we still use A*-G grades, not numbers.

Ds’s best friend got 8 x 9s and 1x 8. He was miserable. DS got less and was bouncing off the walls.

DD got all 9s and a distinction in extended maths. Tbh though my friends dnephew got 3s and 4s but has had the toughest of lives including being abandoned by his mum this year and has barely attended school. His results are outstanding!

All 9’s, very dedicated student and supportive parents. Absolutely wonderful marks, everyone is so proud.

She had also done a couple of GCSE’s a year early, in order to do more subjects, with the same results.

I saw this, as well. Im unsure whether id want my kids getting up at 4am to revise but maybe thats because im lazy

A student of mine got all 5s and 6s, 3 different foster homes this year alone. Lots or trauma before going into care 2-3 years ago, a student that has changed my perspective of how I will teach and approach students going forward.

Absolutely the way to look at things. Our DS got a 2:1 in first year at uni having taken end of year exams in the run up to major surgery. It's more about how you get there than anything else.

Oh wow! Amazing. I was a teacher in a very tough area and stories like this make me miss it very much. By "best" I didn't necessarily mean highest achieving, although they are always lovely to hear.

I think what the previous poster said about the best results for a student who achieved 5s and 3s having been in foster homes is a stand out.

My DC got 11 x 9s, with 100% in Maths, 100% in an arts-based subject, 99% in Chem and Physics high 90s in Biology and English Lit; 94% in a MFL.

But they did got to a high performing school which obviously helps massively.

I love hearing how well the kids have all done. For me it was a son of a good friend who had struggled socially, she didn’t expect him to do well at all but he smashed it out the park with all 7-9s and is off to a brilliant school to do the IB. The saddest results I’ve seen my dd showed me on her tik tok of kids gloating that they’d purposely failed. I only hope they make a success of themselves in other ways.

My dc has been battling a psychiatric disorder, which they are working so hard to recover from and walked out with 7 x 9s and 2 x 8s GCSEs today. I am in awe. Not many people know how tough things have been so it's nice to have somewhere to acknowledge this.

As a former teacher, the results I remember aren’t the stellar 9s, wonderful though they are, but those students who had a difficult time for whatever reason and still achieved. Maybe it was a hard won 4, maybe just turning up to the exams, but their effort and commitment is just as important.

Exactly this.

The kid who got the 4 we were so worried about is the one I'm happiest about.

I knew it would be a S Asian.
