Hang on-sell his house and move out of London?

I know the secondary that Starmer's son goes to and it's not currently a very good school. Certainly the least middle class of the local secondary options perhaps because it's academically/behaviourally the worst of the local secondary options.

I don't know what that article was on about... perhaps the primary his kids went to, which is outstanding, but what was he supposed to do? Move to a different catchment?

So his daughter is going to a different school... I see... 😁

That's how single sex schools work, yes. You people seem pretty insane.

EasternStandard · 01/05/2025 07:20

Idk but I’d avoid putting it on here.

I would too-although their primary is well known. I only asked because so many posters seem to be talking authoritatively about it. Useful to know it it’s fact or fiction.

CurlewKate · 01/05/2025 00:56

Are people suggesting that Starmer should move from the house he has lived in for over 20 years? That he bought before he had children?

He effectively moved his precious darling out of the family house to a penthouse. The sacrifices of the Labour politicians! The hard life!

It really is hilarious 😂

Apologies-I can’t find it but someone said that he should send his children to school out of London. Rather than to the non selective secondary school near the house he has lived in for more than 20 years.

And before anyone says it- the outstanding school everyone is talking about is the Primary school his children went to. We have no definitive information about their secondary schools.

Interesting that you feel the urge to personally insult me first time we met 😁 I guess it's called sanity in your world.

We used to live in the area and I know schools, and although I couldn't care less about Starmer's offspring, you inadvertently revealed that he's even more hypocritical than people think he is 😁

Oh come on! Do you really think that a house surrounded by journalists
and election/new Prime Minister stuff is a good place to study? Running the gauntlet of the paparazzi on the way home? He moved his son to a friend’s house to revise. As many of us would have done. He’s a rich man. He has rich friends. So it was a posh house.

Do journalists hang around houses when politicians are campaigning?

Surely it’s better to just turn up to the frequent press briefings.

Er... in what way? If you actually knew the schools in the area, as opposed to the privates and preps, you'd know that the one I'm talking about isn't a "privileged" school by any stretch, either by London or national standards..

Thinking sending your son and daughter to different schools is some sort of hypocrisy gotcha is just weird, and adds to the idea that it would be impossible for the guy to do right in your judgement.

Frankly, I think his son would have survived the horrors of his way home 🤣 I'm sure the journos were not trying to mug or knife him so he wasn't subjected to the experience many children face. My son's way to school was not safe and the school repeatedly warned children about the dangers in the area, but I can see my heart must now bleed for Starmer's children 🤣

Can't stop laughing at how people are willing to turn a blind eye to so many outrageous things. And they won't even pay you for your loyalty! :))

When the candidate concerned has made it clear he doesn’t want his children in the news they do, yes.
In any case, I genuinely can’t see why moving his child to a friend’s house is such a problem. Would it have been OK if the friend concerned wasn’t super rich?

strawberrybubblegum · 01/05/2025 08:49

KendricksGin · 01/05/2025 00:31

So you criticise Starmer for restricting children’s educational options but have no qualms about restricting Starmer’s children’s options just because of who their father is. That’s a bit contradictory.

I couldn’t care less what decision he makes with regards to his own children. - Another76543

Any choice is acceptable as long as he doesn’t then lecture and penalise others for making a different choice. - Another76543

Couldn’t give a shit where his kids go to school as long as his Government stops implementing ideological educational policies that don’t raise any money and which have a detrimental impact on children. - Boohoo76

ICouldBeVioletSy:
Labour is hellbent - absolutely hellbent!! - on removing parental choice on education. So forgive us if we don’t feel Starmer and his cronies should be enjoying boundless choice themselves.

…but in circumstances where he IS lecturing and IS penalising others he should lead by example (ha! the very thought of it!!).

Why are you pretending that people are saying what you have decided to chastise them for @kendricksgin ?

They're not.

It's very obvious that what people want is for him not to stop other people from accessing education. We don't give a shit what he does to help his kids so long as he doesn’t punish us for doing what's in our power for our kids too.

Hypocritical preaching that we should give ever more and we are still despicable rich scum (for being so presumptious as to educate our children in a way not deemed socialist enough) - whilst taking for himself and his family - is just incredibly galling.

CurlewKate · 01/05/2025 08:49

@Ubertomusicof course your heart shouldn’t bleed for Starmer’s children. But I really don’t understand why this particular thing is an issue. The kid didn’t ask to be doing his GCSEs during an election campaign.

LeakyRad · 01/05/2025 08:56

And plenty of kids didn't ask to be used as faux-class-warfare virtue-signalling fodder in the middle of the school year...

And our kids didn't ask to be sent to independent schools to then be forced out due to intentional government policy, yet here we are!
So it's OK for our kids to be victims but not his kids??

So first you called me insane and then proceeded calling me weird yet at the same time asking me questions? Is that the manners they teach at state schools? Do you often talk to weird insane people?

I looked at the school's results and your comments about its performance made my day.

BP and Labour don't see them as 'Our Children' so they don't give a shit.

They still want our taxes though.

CurlewKate · 01/05/2025 09:03

So. What should Starmer have done about his own children’s education? Rather than send him to the catchment school for the house he has lived in for more than 20 years?

Don't care what he does with his children.

What he should have done is not attack other people's children's education.

It's not hard.

CurlewKate · 01/05/2025 09:05

@Ubertomusicyou can share the results without naming the school. Cohort stats would be good too.

So all this stuff about his kids schools and how he is a hypocrite because they went to his local school is just a waste of fucking time. Fair enough.

Apparently it is incredibly difficult to grasp...
