The steiner waldorf thread ran to a halt because apparently a 1000 messages are a maximum. Let's continue here!!

I really did not understand that post either. Perhaps it continues, though invisibly (in true anthro style, there's more to to "reality" than can be seen), after that last comma.

Perhaps Steiner did. In an earlier incarnation. Now I feel it's the time to bring in the grinch to steal christmas. It would make the fairytale complete.

Now I've got to check wiki. I suppose you can see who meddled with it (again).

Are you trying to incite acts of cruelty towards animals? Poor dogs and cats, listen to the bee-babble all day long

DianaW:

"For those not following his escapades elsewhere, one of this talented man's other victories today (right before getting me to agree that I have somewhere stated that Steiner invented Christmas) was to shut down WITHIN ONE HOUR a critical page on Steiner on the Norwegian wikipedia."

I happened to see some WCs (one of those who put it up, seemingly just after having ceeated it) in passing recommend the article and looked at it. Wikipedia has rules against selfpromotion of personal sites and lack of reliable sources for articles. I know you don't like that. I did not shut down the article. Admins implement the rules for Wikipedia.

I know you don't like them either, and have told here at MN how fun you think it is to write here, unhampered by any administator rule on civility or anything else, unless some user specifically complains about it, something that has so hampered you in American discussions, like at Mothering, where you were booted some years ago, the same way Northern seemingly - completely without any intervention on my part - has been booted from The Green Parent forum, and possibly the TES and the BBC forums too for similar reasons.

"Those of us who ... shopped and cooked and cleaned and prepared meals for our families or pursued other normal interests, hobbies, and friendships cannot relate to the single-mindedness of the life of a serious cult devotee."

You think I don't shop or cook or clean and prepare meals and have friendhips? I write here as a hobby. Like you.

Only, I don't write frenetically on everything and nothing on the WC-list too, like you do, 24/7 in addition to everything you write here, in posting after posting after posting.

DianaW · 15/04/2008 02:23

"I happened to see some WCs (one of those who put it up, seemingly just after having ceeated it) in passing recommend the article"

Mm hmm. "In passing." This was some kind of . . . coincidence? You don't sit at that keyboard doing this ALL DAY LONG? It was a frigging COINCIDENCE that you saw this and removed it within the hour.

DianaW · 15/04/2008 02:24

"I did not shut down the article. Admins implement the rules for Wikipedia."

You did, sir, and there is no use lying. The history of the page shows that you did.

DianaW · 15/04/2008 02:30

Hysterical. This shows you linking to your personal sites twice on this very page - the thing you say I don't like wikipedia because I'm not allowed to do - this is you doing:

no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diskusjon:Steinerkritikk

DianaW · 15/04/2008 02:33

I'd like to see a translation of that page, too (Zooey?) as I'd bet my last dollar he doesn't honestly acknowledge that the links go to his personal sites.

DianaW · 15/04/2008 03:02

He has no idea the delight that he causes his Norwegian friends, as he hands them piece after piece, completely free, of evidence of his cult's nuttiness.

It really is kind of fun to get him to do this, but I guess we really can't tie up mumsnet discussions with it forever.

Janni · 15/04/2008 19:45

DS1 started his new school today (secondary)
after six years at Steiner.

It's a long time since I've seen him so positive and enthusiastic about school. One of his teachers is FUNNY and makes them laugh!! The work was interesting.

How refreshing.

barking · 15/04/2008 20:26

Good to hear Janni
Laughter? I remember that

AMumInScotland · 15/04/2008 20:30

Hi, can I just let you people know that there is a query on the other thread "Steiner Waldorf thread continues here".

Thebee · 15/04/2008 20:52

OFSTED INSPECTION REPORTS ON STEINER DAYCARE PROVIDERS AND INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS IN THE UK.

Yes, someone asked about experiences from a specific Steiner school.

I pointed to the Ofsted inspection report on the school in question. I also told how to find the seemingly 32 Ofsted inspection reports on Steiner daycare providers and independent schools in the U.K. that are available on the net.

You can find them if you search with 'Steiner Waldorf' HERE.

northernrefugee39 · 15/04/2008 21:11

Hey janni- I'm so pleased, well done your ds, and starting mid year too.
That's exactly how my children reacted, they looked different, they went to school with a light step, they were interested and excited.

Oh amum, thankyou..

Janni · 15/04/2008 21:25

Thanks, Northern. I'm really happy and excited for him.

zzooey · 15/04/2008 22:00

"It's in Swedish, not Norwegian, however, even though he was writing on the Norwegian wiki. (Something to do with the anthroposophical sense of entitlement?)"

Well, actually, I would do the same, and I would expect Norwegians to write in Norwegian on Swedish web sites.

It's crazier that he feels entitled to have a say at all - the wiki post was about criticism. Not about cult adherents.

OP posts:
zzooey · 15/04/2008 22:05

Thanks AMum.

And, Janni, that's good to hear.

How spooky - after my Melinda Messenger posting yesterday, looks like my third eye saw what was coming
melinda messenger splits from husband

Now I wonder if her catching steinersitus has anything to do with it?

Janni · 15/04/2008 23:10

well it won't have helped, Barking, that's for sure.

barking · 15/04/2008 23:16

"Last year Melinda revealed there had been friction when she decided to move the family from Swindon to Berkshire so the children could attend a specialist Steiner-Waldorf school.

"Wayne refused to go, and at that point I really did think we would separate," she said. "He wanted to leave me and I wanted him to leave because I thought that would be the easiest option."

"I can remember having this enormous fight in the car and he was pulling my hair and I was hitting him. I was ready to let him walk away, but, at the same time, I knew we loved each other deeply so I wanted to find a way to work it out."

I'm sure I read somewhere she is really bright, probably just having a 'phase' as some of us ex-parents know. There were many at the school for one reason and another 'found' and needed steiner as a way to escape their old life, detox from it if you like, thinking they were giving themselves and their children a pure natural way to live in direct response from their previous history - a rebirth, with a whole new identity.
Maybe someone on mumsnet knows her and can point her in the direction of these threads, wake her up, save her marraige and then she can write some new articles warning the uk all about the other side of steiner waldorf

barking · 15/04/2008 23:18

sorted

DianaW · 16/04/2008 00:14

That's wonderful Janni!

DianaW · 16/04/2008 00:21

Well I think that admin is an anthroposophist friend of his.

Naturally one of their strategies would be to get some anthroposophists into position as admins there. They set watch dogs anywhere there is open posting on the Internet, and wikipedia is at the same time a dream come true for them, and their worst nightmare. Lots of cults are in this boat. It is a gold mine of free advertising, but it has to be babysat 24 hours a day. They are winning that propaganda war at this point, because they have a lot more fanatics. Critics of cults are always fewer than slavish devotees, at least until or unless the thing implodes . . . and critics for all our fervor can't rival fanatics on their home turf, we tend to have a few other things to do and can't literally sit at the computer in shifts.

easeonline · 16/04/2008 08:52

You mean he doesn't already so regard himself????

northernrefugee39 · 16/04/2008 10:41

Barking- LOL- just catching up- thanks

Have you supressed free speech protecting your cult again bee?
You are desperate aren't you?

"the same way Northern seemingly - completely without any intervention on my part - has been booted from The Green Parent forum, and possibly the TES and the BBC forums too for similar reasons."

I notice you put "seemingly" here, is tht because you're guessing? Making assumptions? Stalking and trying to link things?
Are you sure it wasn't you who threatened Jez at Greenparent with law suits, or the Times? You said earlier you didn't do it "personally", so either your website or a spy or what?
It does your cult no good you know.
There are copies of these chat board coverstions, there's nothing threatening in them but to your cult.
Supressing free speech is proof of cult like behaviour.

Thebee · 16/04/2008 11:00

It seems the admin Jez at The Green Parent, who seemingly made the decision to ban you from the forum, before I looked at it, is a "member of the cult" then. They seem to have many members all over the place...
