hi everyone, i wanted to start a new thread with a NEW topic heading here, as the active one at the moment with over 700 posts looks like it is all about the Cambridge school. This may confuse newcomers.

The ex-wife of a friend said she was an anthroposophist but she could never really explain it to me - I'll have read of these threads (one day!).

Ok, I read the FAQ's but that just seems like a normal school that encourages things to be done at different times and puts more emphasis on emotional/physical development than the curriculum of standard schools.
So what's with the black crayons and anthros etc?
Where does the mystery/conspiracy theory come in to it?

well, quickly as im due at a meeting soon, the reason lots of people have an issue wuth Steiner Waldorf education is the Anthroposophy behind it. It is a religion, a slightly weird and bonkers one at that, that hassome very strange views of the world. Anthroposophy has its roots in German Philosophy and western european history. There is bnothing 'wrong' with any of it, but as you will discover in reading the past and previous threads, anthros are vey vocal about what they believe to be true and thier critics are also, leading to an all out shouting match.

Dont confuse stiener education with'free' or 'd emocratic' education, it is far from it. Also, dont assume that an educational philosophy created to 'grow' new anthros from birth up has any benifit to children beig brought up outside camphill/steiner homes and communities as the conflict this creates can be worse than the education to start with.

Im a parent who has used steiner and a person who has worked in camhill, as are many of the other on this thread but some on this thread are professional 'Anthro Publicists' who use underhanded and pointless methods to get thier point across.

victorian - the crayons and the art they teach are a side issue really.

it is not what most parents of ex-steiner institutions are worried about.

it is just one element of what you call a f* up philosophy.

the scarey stuff is all the subtle and not so subtle brainwashing that goes on in the schools, the blatant racism of steiner's writings, the cover ups by the anthros re. what they actually do in the classes, the stuff that the teachers are trained into, such as reincarnaton, karma, demonic forces, the existence of gnomes, fairies, dances in the classroom to speak to the spirit world, and so on and on.

it is all rather amusing, but also scares the sh**t out of most of us.

victorian, well if she went to a steiner school she would be TOLD in no uncertain terms that gnomes and fairies exist and that you can see them prancing about if you are on the true path of becoming an anthro spiritualist !

my biggest torture was reading steiner in german, i think reading steiner should be on the geneva convention's list as a form torture

These are a series of lectures by Rudolf Steiner, who is the gure anthroposophists follow.

Eva/sune is an anthroposophist, but strangely , his sites, called things like waldorf answers, don't answer many relevant questions.
They are merely there to deflect from the truth.

Here are some hysterical quotes from these lectures (anthroposophists BELIEVE this)

From the same series of lectures, Steiner talks about root races,and also the mission of anthroposophists, which is to spread spiritual science, or as he likes to call it "occult" - he actually says "to mould humanity", and this is the task of Steiner education.

Anthroposophists like eva /sune, distance themselves from the word occult obviously, but when anthroposophists talk among themselves, they use the word.

" So you see, the Spiritual Movement has a quite definite goal, namely, to mould future humanity in advance."

"So a certain group of people must join together in order to prepare the future"

"The aim of the Sixth epoch of humanity will be to popularise occult truth in the widest circles; that is the mission of that epoch"

"There is no other means of bringing about a universal human brotherhood than the spreading of occult knowledge through the world."

The scary thing for me is their secrecy and the racist thread which permeates the teaching.

When eva/sune and lush try to extricate themselves from Steiner's obvious race issues, and madness, they become a car crash.

Their presence is actually good on these threads, because it shows up the anthros.

Anthros tend to go away, go quiet, when faced with reasonable debate.

Eva/sune and lush are the wonderful exceptions.
