hi everyone, i wanted to start a new thread with a NEW topic heading here, as the active one at the moment with over 700 posts looks like it is all about the Cambridge school. This may confuse newcomers.

Let's continue the debate here !
All newcomers welcome !

I will shortly link our two previous threads on MN for any one new to have a look at.

Davy, could you also give a link to your new yahoo list here please ? Thanks.

Sune or Eva52 is the mind behind the web pages

thebee
americans4waldorf
waldorfanswers

His linking to wikipedia is due to one thing - anthros have monopolized information on wikipedia. It's no longer neutral. Sune's actually behind making the Swedish wiki on waldorf completely crap. Wiki is absolutely useless for information on cults and cult behaviour and practices.

Thanks, Ingles. Humans have a tendency to try to make some good come out of bad experiences. Although my husband and I were ardent supporters of Waldorf for many years, after one of our children had some horrible experiences at her Waldorf school we discovered Anthroposophy's real role in the curriculum. We cannot undo what was done to our child. We cannot undo the fact that we subjected our children to what we consider to be a severely deficient education. But we can make the effort to save as many other children as possible from the same fate. That's what motivates me to keep going.

Best,
Margaret

good evening and welcome to the new thread everyone !

here in the UK even my local health shop has a range of organic products (food, cosmetics, hair dyes, etc) apart from dr haushka and weleda, there is a huge range of stuff, so the anthro. stuff is easy to boycot. even asda, waitrose and tesco do their own brands of organic soap, shampoo, etc now.

does anyone know if ECOVER has links with the anthros ? i believe they are from Belgium. i buy their washing liquids.

zzooey, there are some excellent websites selling organic stuff online, i am a big organic junkie, so if you need anything i can recommend some good products for you, non-anthro ones !

if anyone knows of any anthro connected products, please post the list here. i am happy to start an official boycott.

what kind of coke do you do zzooey, the type for snorting or the type for drinking ???

OP posts:
zzooey · 29/02/2008 22:32

Oh, no Now Eva is going to say I'm not believable because I snort coke

No, I meant the horrible American sugary drink. Kind of thing anthros don't like, I suppose.

ECOVER is anthro, I think. Anthro shops always sell Ecover. I used to buy it, but don't anymore (mostly because theere are more readily available alternatives that are good enough).

Looked at the Ecover web site, and I can't figure out if they are anthros from that. My mum was introduced to the brand during our (or her, rather) waldorf period, and they always sell it in anthro stores, but who knows.

theantignome · 29/02/2008 22:40

it is ok zzooey, i know what you meant

ah well, i guess sending an email to a company asking whether they are anthro, would be like asking lush whether she is an anthro, NO REPLY

Give it a rest! Do you really need yet another anti-steiner propaganda thread on MN. Surely you realise that it is just a love-in for you 3 or 4 fanatics. If I were Eva I wouldn't waste my time coming on here - as one might tell ones children - just ignore them and play with the nice kids instead of the noisy attention seeking class clowns

zzooey · 29/02/2008 22:43

"zzooey, there are some excellent websites selling organic stuff online, i am a big organic junkie, so if you need anything i can recommend some good products for you, non-anthro ones ! smile"

The U.K. is like heaven for vegeterians, I think I visited London almost 10 years ago and there was this huge organic store (Planet Organic, I think) - lots of vegetables (the best apples I ever ate), meat substitutes, everything.

Please do recommend brands! Maybe I can send a little e-mail to my food stores and say: can't you substitute Demeter/Saltå/whatever with this, it's much better. In the case of Demeter, it's all imported anyway, so they could perhaps choose another producer to buy from.

theantignome · 29/02/2008 22:48

aussie - thanks for yet another intellectual and relevant post

"just ignore them and play with the nice kids"

also reads quite well like this:
"just ignore them [the anthros] and play with the [non-brainwashed, normal people, kids, parents]"

OP posts:
theantignome · 29/02/2008 22:52

aussie - would it be a real stretch of the imagination to make a guess that you are from Australia ?

if you are, did you read that article i posted on the other thread about 80% of kids from a steiner stream in Victoria failing their maths and english exams once they had joined a mainstream "normal" school ?

i can post a link a again if you can't look it up.

OP posts:
AussieSim · 29/02/2008 23:58

I can see you guys posting but all I can read is 'lah lah lah lah, misinformation, misinformation, bias, bias, bias adinfinitum' I am surprised to see you believe a Rupert Murdoch publication over any parents with 1st hand positive experiences - NOT!

zzooey · 01/03/2008 01:03

"I am surprised to see you believe a Rupert Murdoch publication over any parents with 1st hand positive experiences"

No, I think what we believe in first and foremost are our own negative 1st hand experiences, which lead us to question anthroposophy's place in schools.

In my case, the idea that there was something seriously wrong with waldorf and anthroposophy arose out of spending 9 years in a waldorf school.

zzooey · 01/03/2008 01:31

A list of anthro products, brands and trademarks. Some are international and others just local, I guess. Stockmar crayons and other supplies. Choroi music instruments. Sonett cleaning 'stuff' (competes with Ecover, I think). They are awfully fond of Lyra pens and pencils. I'm not sure if that's an anthro company though.

www.chaseuk.info/

This site has some information on anthroposophical companies and names they trade under. Go to the blog section, where there's a heading mapping the UK anthro movement.

There's also some interesting articles about sanitised Steiner texts and education.

northernrefugee39 · 01/03/2008 07:59

Power/Margaret, you say such inspiring and relevant things.

I only wish I had done a third of the things you recommend in relation to meetings etc. Because of course, what you say was the pattern of behaviour which happened to us. Although I didn't shut up and more and different combinations of staff were brought to meetings( with out consultation with me,)
so there were more people to obturate and deflect my points. The school wanted to keep our family, we had three children , and unlike some of the others , we paid full fees.
For seemingly such gentle, spiritual people, their deceipt, constructions of mutual protection, and organised hostile defence was asight to behold.
But similar behaviour is seen here with eva/sune and lush.
It's rife, they know no other way to defend the indefensible.

theantignome · 01/03/2008 08:00

zzooey - just looking at stockmar crayons and paints and the packaging, which are german, i had guessed as much. all steiner schools only use stockmar.

i have some paints from a company called "fabio" that use vegetables for the paints. the packaging looks very steiner-esque ? i will look up their website for clues.

thanks for the list, zzooey.

On one occasion towards the end of our time at the school, the situation had become so frustrating, that I cried. I actually received a letter from the college of teachers castigating me for crying! Unbelieveable! The reply they got from me was unbelievable too.......how dare they.

But of course emotion is luciferic, the anthros don't believe in showing emotion because it's not spiritual.
You can notice this in the schools, very little laughter, the staff walk around in a special Steiner way, held, contained, repressed, flat.

They seem like a lot of fun don't they?

theantignome · 01/03/2008 08:10

"lah lah lah lah, misinformation, misinformation, bias, bias, bias" AD NAUSEUM is what i got from my son's steiner school.

aussie - perhaps you could open you eyes just for a minute and realise how truely conned you really are if you actually believe any of the crap fed to steiner parents.

i was just thinking yesterday how i was told at the very first ever parent evening (we were all new parents) that we must never ask our children what they did in school that day. they said children don't like to talk about their school day !

well, in fact, my son loves to talk about what he did in school. he came home with "prayers" one day which really pissed me off.

so it now transpires "don't talk about the school day" was yet another ploy to keep the parents in the dark about re-incarnation, karma, prayers to gnomes and fairies, dancing to the rythem of goodness knows what, essentially voodoo to keep lucifer away - bollocks !

i am amazed that heads are so deeply buried in sand.

northern - "anal" is the word.

i remember the number of times i cracked jokes to lighten their obvious burden and i just got really cold, meaningless half-smiles !

they all need to do some serious colonic irrigation, it might brighten up their day
