hi everyone, i wanted to start a new thread with a NEW topic heading here, as the active one at the moment with over 700 posts looks like it is all about the Cambridge school. This may confuse newcomers.

Let's continue the debate here !
All newcomers welcome !

I will shortly link our two previous threads on MN for any one new to have a look at.

Davy, could you also give a link to your new yahoo list here please ? Thanks.

I'm astounded at all this.....have just read everything.
Janni- I can't believe that attack on you by Pheonix, I can't see what you made her launch it. If it's any comfort, she used to attack me in a similar way when she was lush.
I think it's actually good that your kids had a positive leaving experience. It didn't happen with us.

Barking, I feel for you , you've been in this situation so long I hope the house sells quickly and you can move on.

Still no source for the quotes Eva Sune?

I wouldn't report either of them, Pheonix or Sune, they make such a good example of themselves...no sune, kneedeep wasn't , I've been away. You are parnoid and pathetic. Keep it up- it's fuel to the fire.

northernrefugee39 · 25/03/2008 11:23

Janni- like you, we were lied to and deceived about the school when ewe went, and knew nothing of anthroposophy. They even directed us to reading mater which was sanitised for parents, because that had no mention either.
We have been generally cut off from the community, but still occaionally see one or two families; the children now are getting less and less keen to tho'as they make established friend at their new schools.
I will publish our story, and feel a need to discuss it with the teachers at the school, but they just back off and cold shoulder, just as they did when we asked questions while we were still there. They would never discuss it.

Now I feel so much better informed, I'd like to really know what they believe and think, out of pure interest. But they won't discuss...

northernrefugee39 · 25/03/2008 11:28

Diana- I've heard of these "curative" leaving stories, written by the teacher, one totally horrendous one. It's incredible , the cruelty that can be spouted by these people, a kind of twisting of the knife. Although many Steiner teachers are kind good people I suppose, ther are many who are the opposite, and who seem not to be able to see themselves.

Janni · 25/03/2008 11:28

Hi Northern - hope you had a good break. We missed you! There's been quite a lot of drama on here in your absence.

Phoenix never reappeared, which I think says it all.

northernrefugee39 · 25/03/2008 12:23

Oh hi Janni- yes, I had withdrawal symptoms!

I've read through once, and drama's not a big enough word. So sorry you had that venom spat at you- she does this - i think it's utter defence and fury; sune does the good cop, burger cop thing too doesn't he? very odd behaviour, and also complete refusual to empathise with the position you're in, and the ghastly time you, or any of us have had. On that note, I thought it was really good of stripey to come in and sympathise and try and put in a word from pro steiner that saw the other side too.

northernrefugee39 · 25/03/2008 12:29

There's a sad story of someone who has left Steiner school last week here which I ve been contributing to.

Unlike you, the school did nothing when this family left. They had moved to the area for the school.

It makes me seething that this can go on and on.

Eva/sune I hope you leave them alone.
If you start posting your links there the opinion of you on this board will drop lowere than it's possible, actually i don't think it's possible to drop much lowere.

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry · 25/03/2008 13:28

If I were a leading Anthroposophist, I would be doing all I could do to stop Sune from speaking online for the organisation, and in doing so, validate peoples claims of control freakery, paranoia, one-sidedness to the point of deception, evasiveness, etc. He as done an admirable job of making a fool of himself and his faith organisation on this thread.

Sune, are you going to clear up this Wiki business or just act as if DianaW hasn't challenged you?

Janni · 25/03/2008 14:11

Yes Northern, I agree with you about Stripymama - that was nice

northernrefugee39 · 25/03/2008 15:36

knee- I think we generally know which story holds more water, Diana's or sune's? What a difficult choice...

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry · 25/03/2008 22:50

I know, northern, I just want to see if we can get a reasonable, fair, balanced argument out of him .

And DianaW, I would get totally histrionic/hysterical/ranty in the situation you were in with Wiki. Nothing that encites rage and "hysteria" more than injustice.

JamSamBam · 25/03/2008 23:09

I dont know i fthis is completley off topic or not, seeing as you are up to 700 odd posts!!

Ive been thinking more and more recently about our time with Steiner education and Camphill and the more i think, the less i understand. Except though, i could never understand why volunteerts would come from all over the world, only to leave again after 3 months. The community i was involved in always insisted this was noramal and i was only the well educated and trained staff that stayed.
I spoke to an old friend who had volunteered and left quite quickly and she said that she felt pressure to become a new person, with digs about changing her name, her appearence and her kids names. After 6 months she was so exhausted she just packed the car and left. I know thats not rally the way to do things but i really understood, for once, what she meant.

Of all the people on mumsnet, i think this thread has changed the most people. especially me.

anyway, i have work to do and im not actually doing it!! I think we might need a new thread soon, how about we start with the reason why my son was sent out everyday with paper scissors to cut the grass????!!!!????

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry:

"If I were a leading Anthroposophist, I would be doing all I could do to stop Sune from speaking online for the organisation"

I don't speak for anyone else but myself.

easeonline · 25/03/2008 23:33

"I don't speak for anyone else but myself."

Doesn't matter. I reckon any presentation of my case so rabidly made (by a third party or not) would'nt in the least helpful.

Are you all alone on Waldorf Answers now then?

What did the Edinburgh parents misunderstand?

Davy

Janni · 25/03/2008 23:40

The more I read about the true Steiner communities, the more I feel I only really saw the fringes of it...The school my children were at is fairly young, and a bit too chaotic to be really hard-core anthro. The parents were a real mixed bag, not all died-in-the-wool alternative types. I can easily imagine what it would be like though to be in an environment where EVERYONE is involved in Steiner...Very oppressive and humourless.

Thebee · 26/03/2008 08:48

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry:

"He as done an admirable job of making a fool of himself and his faith organisation on this thread."

Love - and its opposite - is in the eye of the beholder.

northernrefugee39 · 26/03/2008 09:02

Jamsam, I can understand completely the reason your friend just packed and left Camphill; It happened quite a few times at the one we were at, and they're having difficulty finding long term families; it is quite an old established community, and some very hard core anthros, who put pressure on the new idealistic volunteers.

It seems peolple arrive with the ultruistic vision, imagining the utopian community, only to discover, like all of us, that it is a front for anthroposophical belief.

Many of the volunteers seemed to me to behave a bit like they were on a kibbutz, and when the anthros insist they attend lectures about anthroposophy, it dawns on them, faster than parents at the school, because they aren't pressured to go to lectures.

northernrefugee39 · 26/03/2008 09:03

thebee, what has making a fool of yourself got to do with love and hate?

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry · 26/03/2008 11:33

Thebee,

I don't hate you. I don't care enough to hate you!

I just don't respect you because you don't seem to be able to see how rediculous your posts are.

Love and hate have nothing to do with fact. You are being one-sided and unfair in your dealings with other posters (and that's the nicest I can be about you).

You are not a good advert for Antho, especially in the light of what people on this thread are saying about other Anthros and their harmful effects on families in the Steiner education system. Your posts simply confirm the types of negative behaviour they are describing.

But you don't seem to be able to see that you are revealing exactly the same sort of behaviour.

Thebee · 26/03/2008 11:55

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry:

"you don't seem to be able to see that you are revealing exactly the same sort of behaviour"

I've had too much to do with DianaW, Peter Staudenmaier, and other WC's over the years.

Thebee · 26/03/2008 12:20

kneedeepinthedirtylaundry,

You've described "kneedeepinthedirtylaundry" as your "new name".

What is your old name? One here at MN?

northernrefugee39 · 26/03/2008 12:31

Don't you see it as strange the bee/sune, that the only person to regularly, and frequently use the word "hate" is you?

You use it with abandon, when describing people who disgree with your cult, and about the support group for people who've been affected by anthroposophy.

Peter Staudenmaier is a historian. He writes about and studies history. He uses facts. He is erudite, totally credible, objective, (and constantly patient and polite), whereas you tend to have statements unencumbered by facts or backed up with relevent sources.

Why are you so obsessed with Peter Staudenmaier and Diana?
Could it be that they pose so great a threat, because they get to the root of the lies and deceptions, to the facts the anthroposophists would prefer to keep hidden?
I wonder ...

northernrefugee39 · 26/03/2008 12:32

Don't you realise who knnedeep is?
Crikey... not very perceptive.....

northernrefugee39 · 26/03/2008 12:35

Oh yes, and Peter Staudenmaier is affiliated to one of the best universities in the world, and has been published by some of the most respected academic journals in his field.

And thebee/sune has his been published- anywhere? Or just on your own websites.
Have you had any of your work published Sune/thebee? I'd be interested to know.

Janni · 26/03/2008 13:01

Is gnomey back?
I hadn't twigged! Duh!
Hey -welcome back

barking · 26/03/2008 14:28

Yes Sune/Bee/Eva - You could always try Floris Press.
I've heard they will print anything.
