Just been to a parent teacher meeting...............................The usual some good, some ish......but they said DS is a stage 8 reader ...........any ideas ??

Just checked ORT and he is beyond their stage 8 so what does it mean ??

By the way the numeracy is not great so this is not a G&T

Can any one help ??

in answer to the OP it means that the parents of children on lower stages than your child arent allowed to stand with you in the playground but interestingly you are not allowed to stand with teh parents of those children (girls) on higher stages unless they come over to you to show off

Oh and it also means that you've got to say in a loud voice "DC have you changed your book ...let's have a look...oh dear I've dropped it...thank you so much for picking it up for me...yes he is reading Tolstoy now - frankly I think it's a little advanced for him but Miss Smith insisted...and he's so keen...."
