I’ve had so much fun lurking on the entrance test threads in the last years - now it’s my son’s turn .
Still 10 days to go but I’m starting the thread .
Sitting a couple of other schools as well so maybe we could start a general ‘ Surrey entrance exams ‘ thread ( fun ;-)! )
DS ‘s first exam is in two days time .
He’s preparing himself by playing computer games . I let it go as I don’t believe in prepping children too much for these exams - . I just want him to be relaxed .

Does anybody know if the no letters are out yet?

Congrats Rianna, you can relax a bit. No letters yet, its going to be sleepless nights for next 3/4 days

Does anyone know when the No letters will be sent out. We also sat the exam on the 13th. The not knowing is very hard. We still have another exam to sit on Sunday for Reeds 13+. Waiting anxiously.

ShezMum - I feel i’ve had sleepless nights for the last 6 weeks! Been going to sleep about 4am! Will be so glad when it’s over

Any no letters yet people? Don’t understand why they are taking so long...

We didn’t receive anything today! Taking that as good sign. I suspect that they may wait until the end of Janaury before sending out the No’s. But they have one more second interview date for the 2nd February.

Nothing here either, not daring to hope just yet - think we need to get to the end of the month first..

We got a yes from the school of his choice today so breathing a huge sigh of relief. I don't think they will send any no's until maybe next week but people still having 2nd interviews on the 2nd Feb is such a long time away! difficult waiting. They said at our interview the letters for us would be sent out on the 8th.

churchers college for us so we have an option at least...better than our state school option that is for sure. Makes the waiting a bit easier knowing it is not life or death :)

Does anyone have experience of music auditions at RGS? Have one this week.

anyone know anything about number of places/number sitting for the 12+ exam on Thursday?

Madlife, previous years thread seems to indicate much much lower i.e. 30 made up of call backs but also new applicants, but also not many places.

We pre-tested for 13+ entry, so I am curious as to what happens if you get the 12+ callback rather than a straight yes/no. As it would influence decisions.

No letters here yet, but not expecting one as it would have arrived Saturday if posted Friday. How certain are we no letters are due to be sent out by the end of Jan, was that mentioned anywhere?

We have been through the process twice in recent years and both times the no letters went out during the last few days of January. They are pretty good about that at least! Once you get to Feb 1st you can breathe a sigh of relief. Good luck to all of you patiently waiting for the 1st Feb and fingers crossed to all those that had call backs and have to wait that bit longer.

Cjm mamma congratulations ! I’m feeling better too . I like reeds a lot , it seems well organised and I only hear good things about it . The main reason I might have a slight preference for RGS is not even academic but social - I think maybe my son would fit in better . Anyway , our headmaster said there where ‘ about 5 places ‘ for 12 plus , but maybe he was exaggerating to make the point that it is pretty competitive... sorry 😐 , you asked ...

Claremont said end of the month but no letter from them ( not that I care anymore but have flu so opening the door to the postman is rhe highlight of my day ). If no letters yet is sounds like it’s going to be good news for all of you !
