Every year I have watched with interest and excitement as all of these types of threads have progressed to offers.

Finally in the same boat. The Christmas prep is wearing...And couldn't find anyone to share the experience with.... hence this attempt to start one....

Anyone else want to join? If I have missed a school... please feel free to still join in and add your school of interest.

Currently burning the night oil trying to find more comprehension material... anyone have any online suggestions?

End to another anxious wait and beginning of another wait of an anxious day or anxious days .. already . On asking my DS he didn't mention anything that his teacher mentioned to him regarding any reference . I suppose it's over or they might be asking for reference over this week . I think we have to wait till end of this week and by that time if we don't hear anything then we can say no news can be treated positive . Coz letters for no offers will be sent out this Thursday / Friday and should reach by Saturday at the most .
The only worrying part is next week Tuesday is there sports assessment day and I have filled up a form for my son . Ideally how long should I wait before I hear anything from them or contact them ?

T has started calling - we got a phone call this afternoon confirming interview. I think we're just very lucky in that DS was in the first batch of marked papers. Good luck everyone - things are (slowly!) moving along.

I was interviewed at W for both DS1 and DS2, although it's not really an interview as such, more like a chat.

Thanks everyone! DS sat 11+. Holding thumbs for good news all around for everyone. Good luck for interviews. Womble - W interviews parents as well.

Yay well done to your DS Fabforty!
Missmillsie where does it say on the email about contacting them at Sports Assessment? We are waiting on drama and that it is on Tuesday along with Sports...

Well done all the DSs and mummies for going through all this - the wait is killing us all! I've been lurking trying to not to drive myself bonkers.

We got an email from W just after 18.00 today with a time for an 11+ interview next week. I'm sure everyone is right about the batches. They said they're interviewing over a two-week period, so there's still plenty of time for more emails to come out.

Yay excellent news fabforty!! When's your interview?

I'll try to copy and paste x

If your son has not done well enough in the examinations to be called for interview, then you will be sent a letter to be posted no later than Thursday 12th January. If your son has applied for a sports scholarship and you have not heard from us by 1pm on Friday, then do please telephone the admissions office for confirmation of whether your son has been called in for the sports assessment on Monday 16th January. Those being invited in for any of the other non-academic scholarship assessments will be contacted by the relevant departments. Please note that if you are contacted about attending one of these assessments, this will also mean that your son will be called for an academic interview. Interview phone calls are made anytime over this period up until 1st February. Please be assured that the length of time taken to call you is no reflection of how well your son has performed, but is simply due to the volume of calls we have to make. Otherwise, we would respectfully ask if you could resist phoning us during this period as I am sure you will appreciate the additional work this adds for the admissions department.

Hope this helps xx

Thanks Missmillsie! Did your DS do 11+ or 10+? We are 10+ and we didn't have the sports scholarship bit on our email...🤔

sbmum2017 · 10/01/2017 20:52

That's rights woodlysmum . No mention to this at all in the 10+ letter strangely .. Hence even I was confused .. But going by all the conversations - 10+ children have not received any emails or calls so far .. maybe tomorrow is the DAY!! :-)

Fabfortysomething, DIN2K and Womblemum5 congrats to you all and hope the interviews go well for you.

Glad to hear that T have started calling. I suppose compared to W (2wks), T are interviewing over 3ish weeks. So they can take their time in calling and arranging interviews. But the wait is sure killing me 😅

I've just done this with DD for 2017 Y7 entry and I was surprised how much more straightforward it was (admittedly just one school as I pulled her from the others once we had the offer we wanted)
