Thought I'd go ahead and start. Found the old threads really interesting and would welcome ongoing input from those who've been through the whole process.
Ds in Year 5 and we are looking at a mixture of grammar schools and indies for 11+ Whitgift recommended this year - we've been told there is a drive to raise academic standards. We're going to the Open afternoon on 10th Nov.

AnotherNewt · 12/02/2016 08:45

Is everyone camping out by the front door, ready to jump on the postie?

Seeline · 12/02/2016 08:46

Good luck everyone - whose postie arrives first Wink

BoSelectaBigBiff · 12/02/2016 09:03

Our post could arrive any time between 10am - 3pm Confused - it's could be a long wait. So nervous!

Firefox1066 · 12/02/2016 09:22

The day has final arrived for you guys. Very best of luck to all and please please remember that even if your DS's don't get the school they/you were hoping for you should be proud of the magnificent efforts they (and you!) have put into this whole process.

Best of luck!!

sara176 · 12/02/2016 10:23

Cannons · 12/02/2016 10:42

Good luck everyone fingers crossed. Whatever the resul I'm proud of my little man he really couldn't have worked or done anymore here's wishing he gets in to T

mummytummy3 · 12/02/2016 10:43

Oh inset day, that's why there wasn't much traffic today! Good luck everyone! Hope everyone gets what they want. I have nothing to wait for now, except National Day offer.

If your darlings don't get what they want, then it's not the right school for them. I have come to admit that. Money can't buy education.

foragogogo · 12/02/2016 10:45

same here, am at work so wont be back til this evening, today is really going to drag! Am contemplating getting the train home at lunchtime to check but that would be crazy! Surely the first postpeople should be arriving by now? I need details of envelope contents to keep me going.

kidstaxidriver · 12/02/2016 10:56

No postman yet and now have to go to work!! Wondering whether to drive around the local streets! However he didn't come
until midday yesterday!!!

BoSelectaBigBiff · 12/02/2016 11:07

No post here yet either, just lots of pacing around being done (I'm supposed to be working at home today - not so much work being done, though!)

HURRY UP, POSTMAN!!!

fleurdelacourt · 12/02/2016 11:13

dh just phoned - about something completely unrelated. He had completely forgotten the results were due today. Shock

surely the postman can't be far away now - wonder if I could go and hunt him down [sad obsessive emoticon]

Supermummy1674 · 12/02/2016 11:19

My post just arrived to scared to open!

Sonia992 · 12/02/2016 11:20

Hey all we got our post and our ds got an all rounder scholarship does anyone know what that entails as its for academic and sport. How much commitment is required for the sport? It was for 10 plus.

BoSelectaBigBiff · 12/02/2016 11:24

Congratulations sonia!! That's brilliant. Which school was that for?

supermummy - good luck! I'm nervous for you!

Feedback on envelope sizes, please!

Ahmedfamily · 12/02/2016 11:25

Hi all, can anyone give any insight - son offered a full fee place at T and been placed on bursary reserve list - has anyone known for the bursary reserve list to actually move? Have called admissions and waiting for call back.

fleurdelacourt · 12/02/2016 11:25

Sonia - great news! Any questions like that I'd direct at the school's registrar?

Supermummy - have you taken the plunge yet?

Sonia992 · 12/02/2016 11:31

Thank you. It was for W. We are really shocked as we just did the test for practice and had absolutely no intention for sending but with an all rounder scholarship it's hard to reject the offer! Good luck to everyone else!

Sonia992 · 12/02/2016 11:31

W envelope a5 and T was a4, both with offers!

foragogogo · 12/02/2016 11:32

congrats Sonia and Ahmedfamily

Envelope details please!

BoSelectaBigBiff · 12/02/2016 11:44

Just heard stuff being put through the post box. Legged it to the door, heart pounding - and it was just the local paper. Grrrr. I'm a complete nervous wreck today.

foragogogo · 12/02/2016 11:46

also, were their individual letters addressed to the boys inside the T and W envelopes or just one addressed to the parents?

Ahmedfamily · 12/02/2016 11:48

Whitgift offer letter was in a5 envelope - about 3-pages and Trinity was in a4 envelope - again about 3 pages and a letter in envelope for son to open. Also info on who is taking over as headmaster in September Smile

Ahmedfamily · 12/02/2016 11:49

Whitgift did enclose a letter to son but not in envelope. Trinity one is in envelope though!

Sonia992 · 12/02/2016 11:51

Yes trinity have a letter in envelope for boys and Whitgift have a letter in the same envelope as parents.
