They have rebooked for today. It it roasting. It will be 31 on the shadeless field.
I have just rang up to ask whether it will be taking place, yes, its heatwave level 3 again, yes, but we cant win can we.
There will be lots of water and gazebos.
Do I just go and pick up dd now or what?

Ours was at 1.30 yesterday and I think that it was fairly well organised taking into account the conditions. They had 4 gazebos up as resting stations in between events. And each child had their water bottle plus they were bringing jugs of water out of the school with plastic cups available. DS managed to be the only child in reception to come out without a hat on. A quick trip into the classroom unearthed two of his hats though so I sorted that one! Poor lad then had football practice at 3.30!

Ours was also yesterday and they moved it forward from 1.30 to 9.30. Still very hot but the kids all coped with plenty of water and hats. I hate the idea of cancelling these things and even closing schools just because of a bit of sun. It's a crazy world .
