ROFLMFAO! That article is PRICELESS! What an absolute tosser!

Stupid, stupid woman. Did she have private education? If so, it was a waste of bloody money!! Durrrr.

The daughter needs a good slap Grin

emkana · 25/04/2006 12:48

v. parpy indeed

But do also check out the other contender for parpiest article of the day which I have posted about in the breast/bottle section Grin

coppertop · 25/04/2006 12:48

B*gger! That'll teach me to preview posts. Blush

alexsmum · 25/04/2006 12:49

What an absoloute load of sh*te. Maybe Florence should have told mummy dearest that her "financial maths" is mental! If you don't want a big mortgage don't fecking get one in the first place and if it was that easy to stop working in London to work at home so she'd save £700 why didn't she do that in the first place rather than hiring an au pair if she was that broke! These kind of people really piss me off Angry

GDG · 25/04/2006 12:50

Sorry emkana, much as I'd lvoe too - I ain't gonig near breast and bottle! Grin

beckybrastraps · 25/04/2006 12:50

No coppertop, she was the only child collected by an au pair. Because of the narrow social group served by the state school. Unless of course you mean now, as the au pair has been given her marching orders. Little Florence collected by Mummy, exhausted and dishevelled from scrubbing her own floor since 5am!

frogs · 25/04/2006 12:50

And do we believe that the state school head 'graciously' said that she understood their position and she'd do the same herself?

Pants on fire.

cod · 25/04/2006 12:50

so the cheap immigrant labour has gone

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

marthamoo · 25/04/2006 12:50

And she and her dh have really nauseating pet names for each other like chucklemuffin and tiddlepops.

GDG · 25/04/2006 12:50

Ledodg - she's thick as shit, clearly!

CarolinaMoonfish · 25/04/2006 12:51

"I was one of the only mothers in my daughter’s class who had a full-time job" - i.e. I had a full-time job (and au pair, natch) and so did some other people. Boo-effing-hoo!

Shock to learn state primary schools don't generally offer nine-pupil class sizes or teach Spanish. Had she actually visited the school before sending her kids there?

GDG · 25/04/2006 12:51

You lot have me pmsl!! Really got to go to Tesco - bums.

acnebride · 25/04/2006 12:51

LOl can just imagine florence and her mates having sleepovers while entertained by movies like 'They Came From The Comprehensive' and 'State School Slashers'

sorry in-joke about other thread

emkana · 25/04/2006 12:52

Fair enough, I did have my doubts about starting the thread in the first place because it's quite possibly been done one too many times on MN.

Just couldn't help myself though. Wink

marthamoo · 25/04/2006 12:52

Head was probably just glad to see the back of her and her precocious "no mental maths, Mummy!" offspring...

flutterbee · 25/04/2006 12:52

Angry Angry

I may have been to angry by the end of the article to read it correctly but can someone confirm that she is only making all these sacrifices for the little princess and the other two will just have to rough it at state school.

cod · 25/04/2006 12:53

that one was writing int eh torygraph that was wrongly delievred to us on sat
more on her MILand her son

OP posts:
hulababy · 25/04/2006 12:54

It definitely think it portrays the "average" private school children/families from round here. Beginning to see that the London/down south (or the "posher" ones elsewhere) schools must be very different, and attended by some very strange families. £700 for one month's school fee Shock

DD will get to wear a boater in the summer terms - it looks sweet! She has a felt hat in the colder months :)

CarolinaMoonfish · 25/04/2006 12:54

yeah, maybe this one's got a book to promote just like the husband-mad woman. It is all v Polly Filler, ho hum.

cod · 25/04/2006 12:55

OH no hula
she will look a total nob
sorry i HATE them

OP posts:
frogs · 25/04/2006 12:55

Also don't believe that there were no other aupair/nanny collected children. We're awash with aupairs here, and it's inner London, not Surrey or Kent. fgs.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2006 12:57

what's a boater?

i only went to fee-paying school b/c in the states, faith schools are private, and my parents believed in instilling the fear of God into us at an early age.

those Dominican nuns were good at it, too.

expatinscotland · 25/04/2006 12:59

i think this article is fictitious and based on a rosie millard interview.
