mmm, good plan, and just quirky insane enough to appeal to the powers that be

ravenAK · 31/10/2012 23:50

I'm not sure. I don't think the idiot Gove is ready for nice shoes.

I already wear nice shoes. Can I get a promotion?

mrz · 01/11/2012 08:31

I wear "quirky" shoes do you think that counts?

teacherwith2kids · 01/11/2012 09:03

I'm a total fail on the shoes front - my highest aim for my clothes in general is to be sufficiently unremarkable that nobody notices what I wear either positively or negatively....so my plain black boots / plain back ankle high boots / plain black plain shoes 3-way choices of footwear definitely don't fit into the 'nice shoes' bracket....

EvilTwins · 01/11/2012 16:27

Mrz- how quirky? I have 3 pairs of IC shoes I wear for work. Keeps the yr 10 girls on side Wink And at Christmas I wear my red glittery Dorothy shoes. Teaching drama, I get away with it.

mrz · 01/11/2012 16:30

Mine are mainly IC too... I dusted off my spider shoes for Halloween and my "littlies" love the pictures on the soles

ravenAK · 01/11/2012 18:07

IC are absolutely the best teacher shoes, but I do like a nice Demonia flat for comfort...love my bat buckles Grin. & I have some great Iron Fist pumps, which look like they have a nice tasteful lacy print but are actually covered in death's-head moth things.

I reckon English is almost as good as Drama for getting away with quirky stuff. People expect you to wear too much purple & clanky jewellery.

mrz · 01/11/2012 20:40

Oh I have some Iron Fist "Bite Me Fangs" pumps! Grin

KitKatGirl1 · 01/11/2012 20:55

Haven't read the thread really but just wanted to say I have 10 grade A GCSEs, 4 grade A 'A' levels and a first class degree (academic subject) but I don't think that means I would be a good teacher.

mrz · 01/11/2012 20:57

but do you have nice shoes!

teacherwith2kids · 01/11/2012 20:59

KitKat - ditto - but my shoes let me down! Wink

KitKatGirl1 · 01/11/2012 22:10

I have super shoes...and boots. Though they're not polished too often:-(

teacherwith2kids · 01/11/2012 22:28

Ah, polish I can (and do) do. Style and panache is where my shoes let me down...

KitKatGirl1 · 01/11/2012 22:46

I am still on the hunt for yellow polish for my favourite pair of wedges (imagine worn with black tights and black dress - super stylish!). May have to settle for neutral.

KitKatGirl1 · 02/11/2012 12:06

Ooh, thanks, mrz. Had only trawled actual shops so far. (Anybody would think I didn't spend my entire life on the internet)!

mrz · 02/11/2012 12:10

I'm sure I've seen it in Clinkards
