Someone's offered me a BIN price and I dunno what to do!

Tortoise · 13/09/2009 13:11

I have some ending tonight, so far 5 will sell, one bid each! Watchers on them too though. need to sort out some bits to list. I know i have some 2-3y or maybe they are 3-4y babygros to list. And a couple of fluffy sleepsuits too.

Been busy wrapping everything up for dispatch today, my bedroom looks like a parcel depot ATM .

Well done Tortoise, excellent bargain!
It's going to eat into your total though......

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 14/09/2009 06:40

£45 last night , spent £30 of it already. Bad bad e-bay.

Cyteen do you think it's too early for coats? This is my first year selling so I have no idea, a really nice boys coat I had sold for 99p last night and other 'winter' bits have gone unsold and been re-listed yet I am still selling t-shirts, maybe it's the yearly indian summer we've been promised.

cyteen · 14/09/2009 08:39

I don't know WildThings, the weather has been a bit all over the place but it's definitely chilly at night and in the mornings so I was hoping that would turn people's minds to the essential business of keeping babies warm Activity has picked up a bit on my coats now, there's a few bids and some watchers so fingers crossed for some hot ebay action later.

Have regretfully decided that I can't really justify buying anything I'm watching until I've made at least a few quid from my purchases. This week I'll be listing some adult clothes (need to get a few bits drycleaned first, bloody cats have haired on them ) and I've got some lovely silver and amber jewellery that needs to go but am having problems getting decent pics...

(Btw I felt like a right weirdo staring at everyone's legs at yoga last week, trying to spot you )

jemart · 14/09/2009 09:08

Sold my spare P&Ts rain cover last night, fastest sale ever, listed to sold in about 30 minutes! I love it when that happens

Tortoise · 14/09/2009 09:50

jemart - Eats into my total BUT it is for DD1 for Christmas so saved a fair bit. Plus will probably sell the games because they won't be much good for DD1. Could get upto £30 for them which means i got a DS for £39!

Still not got around to listing, hopefully tonight!

I've been spending too, hard not to when you're on ebay every day and have money sloshing about in the paypal account.
I just bought a pupabag cosytoes for my baby DS so my total stands at £170 at the moment.

frazzled74 · 14/09/2009 12:07

have just listed 7 items, have got toddler bed to sell but not got the energy to get it up from cellar to take photo at moment, maybe tomorrow.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 14/09/2009 12:35

@ cyteen, I tend to go to the earlier week ones 5.30 or 6 as I have to be back in time to bf dd before she goes to sleep, I think you do the later classes? So you can stop oggling ladies legs on a weekday.

I try to do weekends too, usually mornings but it depends on what dp is up to.

OnlyWantsOneDoesntLikeDM · 14/09/2009 13:06

right lets see if this works HERE

cyteen · 14/09/2009 14:01

WildThings, I generally go to the 6pm class on Thursdays as it fits in best with work/DS's bedtime. I try to make a weekend morning class too, but wine often gets in the way

Dropped off a dress and a fancy top/skirt combo at the dry cleaners prior to listing...£20 And they won't be ready till next Saturday either.

Tortoise · 14/09/2009 20:59

Made a couple of quid today. Hardly anything at all. Hoped for more than 99p for DD's jumper but nevermind!

Still not got around to listing. Have a cold, sore throat and headache. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I did sort out the pile of stuff to list earlier though.

Made £7.99 on my maternity jeans and £1.50 on some moses basket bedding. Also sold my moses basket on BIN today although not paid as cash on collection and they were meant to collect at 7pm and still no sign or email so doesnt look too promising!
Spent so much the last few days DS1 starting football on friday so got him boots & clothes to grow into. Im with you jemart cant stop spending cause I seem to live on ebay at the mo.
I was meant to list tonight but had such a crap day cant be bothered now. All 3 DS's with colds & coughs & think im coming down with it too now.
Hope you feel better tomorrow tortoise- the bugs must be doing the rounds again.

Tortoise · 14/09/2009 21:45

Sorry you have the cold too Mel. Hope you don't get too bad.
Hope the moses basket gets collected too. I am keeping mine, it is so lovely i hope one of my DC will use it one day in the (very!!) distant future!

Crap, crap, crap!!! Why don't people read the listings? 2 high bidders this evening live outside the UK and I'm happy to send items abroad I want to quote for these seperately. I would be down on postage for each. I've sent polite emails but am not sure what my legal position is. Clearly stated in my ads. Any advice appreciated ladies.

mel1981 · 14/09/2009 21:58

sorry got my thick head on tonight... they won and you'd stated uk postage price? but are willing to send to them- I think when you go to send an invoice and its out of the uk it automatically lets you change postage price? I might be wrong though. I think youve done all you can do ATM let them reply the go from there, they might be happy to pay. Randomly sometimes its chaper to send to other countries then to send in the uk so might be worth checking prices if you havent already.

Tortoise · 14/09/2009 22:04

Agree with Mel. You can change postage price on invoice.

I sent an invoise for the duplo (no payment or reply to my message yet though) will cost £30 so i can't see them paying!

OP posts:
Wuxiapian · 15/09/2009 06:52

Squeezing out 3 more.

Every penny counts, hey?...

BakewellTarts · 15/09/2009 07:48

I have checked prices and one item would cost ME over £3.00 to send so no way thats happening, the other I could just about live with as I would still be in profit overall but its the principle dammit!

I know you can change price on the invoice as I had to do it a while ago to combine items but unfortunately one of the buyers paid instantly before I could amend the figures. I think that there might have been a hangover international postage on the listing by mistake would that change the position. She can't really think the postage on 4 large T Shirts would be less than in the UK can she?

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 15/09/2009 11:36

I would just send her another invoice for the extra that the postage will be, with a message on explaining that she paid before you could adjust the postage so you are unable to send her items until she pays the additional costs.

"I think that there might have been a hangover international postage on the listing by mistake"

I'm not to sure what you mean by this? Can you link to the item?

mel1981 · 15/09/2009 12:00

I might be wrong but I thought If you stated the postage was for uk only then it shouldnt let her pay for it if her address is international until you send a new invoice. Whereas if you stated this was the standard rate then that would be for uk and international sellers so unfortunately you will probably be classed as in the wrong and have to pay out postage.
"I think that there might have been a hangover international postage on the listing by mistake"
I also dont understand what you mean by this?

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 15/09/2009 12:06

I'm not sure if that's right mel, I have my postage set to 'sellers standard rate' but always amend it on the invoice for international buyers, but then I have never had a bid from an international buyer without an enquiry first as to p&p to their particualr country, so maybe I have just got lucky so far.
