Right, new thread ready to make cash for Christmas!
Good luck Ebayers.

OP posts:
Lilyloooohhhh · 15/10/2009 20:15

Tortoise i sometimes wonder if you get a good bargain they 'pretend' it is lost in the post rather than send it.
Watch out for them relisting it , don't buy the can't remember story.
I have lot's of watchers on primeval and ds trainers!
Need to list more things and maybe get myself to charity shop to eye up any bargains!

Is it just me or do you never really feel like the money is yours until your feedback comes in....
It's very stressful and time consuming this ebay lark!
Still paid for xmas last year!

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 15/10/2009 20:20

I did wonder that Lily But seller sounded very worried about the item being lost and was very sorry. Hopefully they reply to my dispute, if not will make a claim soon.

As you know, i buy lots from charity shops! Do pretty well on most items too. Problem is that i am suppose to be recucing my pile of bits not buying other bits to list lol!

Lilyloooohhhh · 15/10/2009 20:29

Tort you still my charity shop bargain queen
Luckily it's been that long since i used ebay i have enough 'junk' of my own.
Also after my pokemon card disaster put me off a bit (as you know)
How was that a year ago ?
Would still watch for that relist as find it odd that something sells for x and you can't remember whether it went recorded or not..

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 15/10/2009 20:50

I remember the pokemon cards. I got out of selling DS's! My Brother did it. He spent ages researching each card and either listing separately if worth a bit or did bundles of not very good cards. Did pretty well out of them and sent me the money minus fees!

mogs0 · 15/10/2009 21:37

I'm a bit late but can I join too please? I started the Summer fund thread and never got around to listing a single item .

I have been over-run with buggies and, considering I don't have a child of my own that needs to use one, I have to let some go!! I am a cm so it's not a totally weird thing to be collecting but I should be able to manage perfectly well with just the P&T.

I have given one away via MN and my Jane powertwin just sold on BIN for £200!!!!! I'm so chuffed, I just hope they're happy with it when the buyer comes to collect it.

I'm still thinking about whether to keep the MB double or not. They don't seem to be selling very well on ebay at the moment. Maybe it's more of a Summer buggy. I can cope with having 2 buggies in the house for now so will probably wait a while before getting rid (unless an MNer has it).

I have mountains and mountains of other bits and pieces to list. I just need to clear a space big enough to be able to photograph the items so there's not loads of crap in the background!

I did 2 car-boot sales over the Summer and made about £70 from the 2. Quite a few big things sold but it doesn't seem to have made much difference to chaos in my house so will have to keep working at my new minimalist approach !!!

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 15/10/2009 21:56

mogs Good luck with listing! Set aside a time to photograph a small amount of items and just get listing.

mogs0 · 15/10/2009 22:06

Just checked the photos stored on my pc and there are quite a few of my ebay items there so will make a start now and list a couple!

mogs0 · 15/10/2009 22:23

Damn it! I have a Sammies back-pack and purse to put on and wanted to check how much they are selling for but ended up buying something for ds instead! Doh!! No wonder there is so much crap in my house - I just can't help myself.

Too late to list now, I'll have a go next week when I have a few days off and can concentrate on NOT buying more than I'm selling!!

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 18/10/2009 07:27

13 items eending tonight just 2 have a bid, most have 0 watchers!

Lilyloooohhhh · 18/10/2009 13:42

Good luck Tort , can't believe my primeval stuff got so many bids already doesn't finish until tom night.
Should have made over £100 with these two listings
Now to get dc's xmas pressies....

IdrisTheDragon · 18/10/2009 15:18

Am trying to list some items and turbo lister keeps crashing on me .

Argh.

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 18/10/2009 16:50

I can't get turbo lister to load on laptop. Would make things easier for me if i could.

Have 3 items with 1 bid now. So just under £3 made so far with about 4hrs left!

Sorted some more items to list later, hopefully! Worried because stikes start in about a week so a 7 day listing will clash with strikes. Wondering about listing lots of BINs instead.

IdrisTheDragon · 18/10/2009 22:15

How did your items go Tortoise?

Have got 22 items on now and 3 have watchers already

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 19/10/2009 12:38

Sold 4 out of 13!! 3 of them @ 99p and 1 @ £1.20!
Was too tired to list last night. Maybe tonight!

IdrisTheDragon · 19/10/2009 17:20

Have got more watchers .

And one person from Australia asking about postage rates. Anyone got any experience of sending to Australia? Do things tend to get lost? Would prefer to just do UK sending tbh

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 19/10/2009 17:25

Idris Never sent to Aus but have sent many other things overseas. I now quote International signed for prices the quote Airmail but tell them that airmail is at their own risk and item won't be insured for loss etc.

Lilyloooohhhh · 19/10/2009 20:15

Yeah just sold everything onmy listing and made over £40
Primeval figures went for £23 although i did spend more than double on them and ds never played with them!!

Tortoise hope you have better luck next listing. I am leaving it now i think until next week and see how strikes go. Hoping this lot pay and i can get them out tom.

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 19/10/2009 21:44

11 items listed fingers crossed for some bids.

Lily That's great Well done.

IdrisTheDragon · 19/10/2009 23:03

Ooh had a BIN on one of the books I was selling (the one the person from Australia was wondering about) for £20 . And this one I got in a school fair for 20p

BakewellTarts · 20/10/2009 08:47

Wow looks like some of you are doing fantastically well.

I've not got much listed at present but what I have seems to be selling at its start price, but at least its selling and all those 0.99p's are adding up. So far made £247.01. So not unhappy.

I've got a few things ending tonight and am not sure what to do re posting. Anyone use couriers instead of RM? If so what do they charge? These items are both pretty small one would be a large letter I think. Anyway what are the rest of you doing?

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 20/10/2009 10:14

Bakewell I don't think anybody sends small items as cheap as RM. I am just going to risk it and keep all receipts.

Lilyloooohhhh · 20/10/2009 10:54

Idris great

I sent all mine second class recorded and crossing my fingers...
Only one not paid but it only went for 99p , they are new no feedback so won't be surprised if they don't!

IdrisTheDragon · 20/10/2009 13:49

Am looking at the various children's books I have, some of which could well sell for an all right amount. Is hard working out which ones I would be very to sell though.

IdrisTheDragon · 20/10/2009 14:57

OK, I have a questino.

There is a book I have which is currently selling on ebay here.

When would it be best to have it ending - before this one - after this one? As it has two bidders interested who have already taken price up to £13.15 with 5 days to go, I am pretty sure it would sell but want to get the best price

BakewellTarts · 20/10/2009 15:08

Idris I would go for after so you pick up disappointed bidders...before and they may still be thinking of bidding again and ignore your item.
