Summer Ebay Challenge!!! Shall we try for another £300?

mogs0 · 18/04/2009 20:10

I need motivating to de-clutter and make my bank account look a bit healthier!!! I've got loads of bags and boxes packed with car-boot stuff that didn't sell the other week so might start with that and list those things at 99p just to make a bit of space.

Anyone with me? Shall we set the deadline for end of Summer term (about the 18th July here)?

Tortoise · 02/05/2009 21:37

Yup!
Will keep trying!

Tortoise · 02/05/2009 21:49

Have emailed Ebay about it again. Last time, their reply was usless but it did work after that!
I have no idea how i made the title error! Thanks for pointing it out though.

bubblerock · 02/05/2009 22:41

Going to relist some stuff on buy it now/best offer I think. I've made a couple of stupid mistakes in the last couple of weeks, one was mistyping my paypal address so the payment disappeared into cyberspace and the other I couldn't find the item at all!! Both Buyers were fab though so not a problem.

SNOWBall4girlz · 02/05/2009 23:39

sorry tor not done any listing tonight ...
dh saidhe was goingout but did not ...under my feet lol x

shoes went for 5.60 !
bra 7.50
tweenies crayons in a tin 99p bargain :O

list tomorrow when he is on nights lol

SNOWBall4girlz · 02/05/2009 23:49

hey tort
bidding on 2 of your items

you might like some of my stuff when I get round to it lol x

Tortoise · 03/05/2009 09:33

Thanks.
Look forward to seeing your stuff when you get it listed!

Now have 5 items with a bid.

DS1's mobile still only has 1 watcher. I think the start price is maybe too high but i was worried it would go for to little. If it doesn't sell i will re-ist it at maybe £10 start! Looking at competed listings they do sell.

FlappytheBat · 03/05/2009 22:09

How is everyone's sales going?

I have a few bids and quite a few watching.

Contemplated taking the reserves off the ds lites, but reserve is lower than what they have been going for on eBay, so will keep them on.

Have just won something I wanted so !

Tortoise · 03/05/2009 22:33

Hi flappy. I would leave the reserves unless you think it might be to high?

Good news! DS1's mobile has a bid. Ends tomorrow night.

FlappytheBat · 03/05/2009 23:41

The reserves are a good £10-15 less than than similar items have gone for over the weekend, so think I will leave them on.

Don't want to give them away as they have genuinely hardly been used, dh's has been here since he got it a year ago, so I know his has been used for only a few weeks maximum.

Hope you get a good price for DS1's mobile!

SNOWBall4girlz · 04/05/2009 00:48

AA I think i saw a thread on here with someoe having the same problem as you.

DS1's mobile sold for £32.31. Would have liked more as the charger and battery cost me £20 recently. But at least he has a bit of money to put towards another phone.

Few other bits ending tonight, more to list tomorrow.

SNOWBall4girlz · 04/05/2009 21:24

hi there Tortoise

me too I will be listing tomorrow dd4 birthday today got her a bike and cant put the thing together (some nuts are missing )

nice day monkey cake and funday at the pub so a bit tired gonna browse and maybe prep some to turbo lister.

Sorry you did not get more for the phone.

Tortoise · 04/05/2009 21:29

Aww SNOW that is a shame, glad it was still a good day though.

I got my Brother to put DS1's new bike together 2 weeks before his birthday just in case there were any problems. Had to hid it under a plastic sheet in the shed lol!

We spent today in Weymouth. Had a lovely day out.

FlappytheBat · 04/05/2009 21:55

Just got in from work and checked my listings, one of my ds lites has made it's reserve and 2 of the games will sell as well.

Other ds lite hasn't made it's reserve but hoping the fact that the one without the game sold, means that it will go - has plenty people watching it, so fingers crossed.

SNOW, hope you are able to get replacement nuts for her bike, pleased you had a good day though!

Tortoise · 04/05/2009 21:58

Great news Flappy.

DS1's phone had 12 watchers. Shame they didn't bid!

FlappytheBat · 04/05/2009 22:04

I know i shouldn't get my hopes up with the number of watchers, as I know from past experience that they sadly don't always materialise as bidders!

Pity you didn't get more for the phone, especially as you had just spent money for accessories, as you say though, it's always money towards a new phone.

Tortoise · 04/05/2009 22:09

Maybe should have put the price of them in the listing. Haven't had time to look for the spare bettery though!

DD2's beautful Monsoon dress looks like it won't sell for much either. It is such a lovely dress too. She looked cute in it too. Called it her red riding hood dress.

Tortoise · 04/05/2009 22:26

Well, DD2's dress sold for £2.20. Really hoped for a bit more but better than nothing!
Quite a few items didn't sell. Will probably re-list them tomorrow.

FlappytheBat · 04/05/2009 22:34

It does make you wonder about carrying on with eBay when that happens, last year I sold a 3 pack of hardly worn Next babygros and some brand new vests from next too, whole lot went for 99p!

wish I had kept them now.

Tortoise · 04/05/2009 22:41

Yeah but i guess my only other option would have been to give it to a friend or charity shop it.(Actually i think i bought it from a charity shop lol!)Buyer was in Ireland so had to find out postage cost before sending invoice.

Another buyer was in Finland! They didn't contact for postage cost before bidding. So tempting to add a bit extra lol! But i just added enough to cover postage and packaging.

Tortoise · 05/05/2009 10:27

I made a whole £7.09 last night(Not including DS1's mobile).

Have a pile of kids toys/books to sort out after clearing their rooms up sunday.

FlappytheBat · 05/05/2009 16:57

Looks like I've made enough for my outfit, 4 hours to go on the 1st 5 items but all my items have winning bids on them now.

Although once feeBay have taken their percentage, will be about £20 short.

Think will give up on eBay soon, as have seen from June, we have to offer free P&P on a lot of items, only if you have an eBay shop will you be eligible for a 20% discount on final value fees from time to time.

They don't really want individuals selling there I think. They obviously don't make enough money from us!

notcitrus · 05/05/2009 17:28

Made £45 thanks to a digital aerial and another broken Walkman! My conclusion is not to bother selling clothes most of the time, and stick to techie bits. There's clearly a market for 80s music stuff...

So I'm halfway to target, ish. And MrNC is now willing to have some of his old books carted down the charity shop, after I proved they weren't worth anything!
