Summer Ebay Challenge!!! Shall we try for another £300?

I need motivating to de-clutter and make my bank account look a bit healthier!!! I've got loads of bags and boxes packed with car-boot stuff that didn't sell the other week so might start with that and list those things at 99p just to make a bit of space.

Anyone with me? Shall we set the deadline for end of Summer term (about the 18th July here)?

£50 for wall paper?
Everyone seems to be doing really well with high price items.

My items have about 3 days. 2 have a bid. Nothing worth much more than 99p tbh!

Where can i find something worth enough money to make my total better lol!

SNOWBall4girlz · 25/05/2009 11:30

not fixed yet
got to give this one back
I need a norton 360 disc to remove norton that has caused the problem
so no more ebaying for a few days
so I am going to sort my stuff into bundles
and tidy up lol

mel1981 · 25/05/2009 12:39

Hi, I know im a bit late but thought i'd join in if its ok? wont make the £300 mark but anything is better than nothing.
Had a few items listed for a bit now mostly brand new as im expecting DS3 in 1 1/2 weeks and during my 4 pegnancies brought a few girls items (in hope) but sadly are never gonna get worn as not having anymore kids
Really needing to declutter my house as I have no room for the 2 boys I have let alone no 3 LOL.
my listings

TheGashlycrumbTinies · 25/05/2009 18:45

Ooh, can I join?

Have just listed about 20 things, no high price items, but most are Mini Boden so I should come close to the mark, shouldn't I?

The only trouble is I will now need to check ebay on an hourly basis. [sad git with nothing better to do with her time and energy emotion]

notcitrus · 25/05/2009 20:06

Just sold 3 items - bike saddle for £14 which is I suspect a bargain, but we had no idea what model number it was. And the packaging and manual for a PDA I sold months ago - 99p each but gets them out of the house.

And got rid of car seat to a Freecycler and palmed off some maternity trousers on him as well.

Still no payment for laptop - will get MrNC to phone tomorrow.
nice items mel - sadly none right for A as I'm having t o be strict and not buy anything for bigger than a 2-year-old yet...

snowball = you shouldn't need the disk to uninstall Norton?

mel1981 · 25/05/2009 20:27

Thanks for taking a look though notcitrus.

And well done on your sales.
I just got rid of a load of toys through freecycle- kicking myself abit cause prob could of made a bit on ebay from them a few bits were less than a year old.
A few of my items are ending later tonight so we shall see how I do. Sold a steriliser at the begining of the week for £10 P&P was almost £8 to malta but im not complaining i sold it thats all that matters.

icedgemsrock · 25/05/2009 20:45

ooh steriliser - i have one glad you reminded me, what sort was it?

Tortoise · 25/05/2009 21:09

nO MORE BIDS ON MY BITS YET Ooops cap lock!
Here's my bits
Should have new scales soon so that i can get back to listing!

mel1981 · 25/05/2009 22:07

ICE- It was a tommee tippee cold water & microwave steriliser brand new, brought it ages ago & put it away to find after getting it back out- it wouldnt fit in our compact microwave LOL so got a electric one. Sold it for a tenner think in asda you can buy it for the same now anyways. So cant complain.

icedgemsrock · 26/05/2009 09:10

mine's a steam steriliser, would be pleased to get £10 will put it on later today.
tortoise - how much are your scales ? I always just guess for postage.

mel1981 · 26/05/2009 16:49

I managed to sell some GAP dungarees for £3.20 and that was it. Will relist and have some more to list later tonight.
Brought a cute jacket BN for £2 inc postage for when DS3 comes so I guess thats not so good if im spending too LOL.
ICED- I put it on at £8 with the intentions if it doesnt sell 1st time at a higher price then I reduce it next time I relist it- in the hope that I get more what I want for it rather than pennies. In this case it worked but it doesnt always.

thesouthsbelle · 26/05/2009 16:59

can I join as well, have sold a load and made £140, plus a few bits before that for £40,. am also doing a car boot with DP week after next,

How are you all finding that your clothes are selling?

13 items listed now, it's great that it's free to list as i just keep relisting them till they do sell.
I'm getting alot going for just 99p but at least i'm rid of them. They are really good quality though so would have hoped to get more but I think there are just so so many childrens clothes on that it's hard to stand out.
I don't get many watchers but if i sell make up i get loads of watchers.

Tortoise · 26/05/2009 21:25

ICED I got some digital scales off Ebay. Any kitchen scales will do really. Mine are more for cake baking. I just can't list not knowing how much the exact postage cost is.

Had most of my items end tonight. Couple of them sold but only for 99p! Disappointing but better than nothing!

mel1981 · 26/05/2009 21:28

Some clothes go for more than I expected but some items that I think will sell dont even go even though they are BNWT- You just cant tell how it will go. I found in the ppast bundles tend to go well- not neceserily for a lot of money but if you just want rid its worth a go. I try and sell by themselves then what doesnt sell try and bundle up.

icedgemsrock · 26/05/2009 21:29

oh didn't know you could use normal scales thought they had to be special postal ones or something. Will give that a go, where does it tell how much each weight costs - do you add a bit on for packaging or just charge the exact amount?

mel1981 · 26/05/2009 21:38

I just use my digital kitchen scales too. I try and weigh it with packaging, look on the royal mail website to find out the costs and if ive brought the packaging I add about 20p otherwise I try and recycle old packaging and dont charge extra.

icedgemsrock · 26/05/2009 21:46

great thanks.

Tortoise · 26/05/2009 21:48

I use Royal Mail website too. Has a postage calculator on there. Just type in the weight and select large letter or parcel etc and it tells you all the price options.
I add a little for packaging but not much. And i buy plastic parcel bags off Ebay and recycle any bags i get.

notcitrus · 26/05/2009 23:12

My scales are 99p ones from Woolies! Most items I look at what others have as p+p and do the same for UK. If calculating airmail I pack first + round up a bit in case of inaccuracy - was caught out a few times by how much bubblewrap + juffybags weigh! So far have used all recycled jiffybags and boxes, or plastic bags/binliners for packing.

Have 21 watchers on a camera, but lots of people only bid around the start price for tech stuff hoping for a bargain. Still, should be £20 and get me to my £300. More, if I ever get paid for that laptop...

Tortoise · 29/05/2009 20:41

How is everyone doing?

Scales haven't arrived yet so not listed anything yet.

Hopefully will do soon.

I think i am ready to start listing again tonight.
Doesn't look like things are selling that well though. Will have to see how it goes.

mel1981 · 02/06/2009 21:46

My items arent selling too well. Am gonna try and list some more tonight, got loads to list but DS3 decided to arrive a week early so trying to fit anything in atm with a newborn is a bit tricky. Few items ending tonight but only 1 bid of 99p.
