guyFAwkesreQuiem · 25/11/2008 21:58

yay - well it's £6 more than you had earlier

I've had a question about my Dickens book - asking me publication date............had to reply honestly saying I don't know there's not date in it, but I've done some research online and I think it's 1950's lol.

And some more positive feedback too - up to 106 now..........shame my delivery time score hasn't gone up again yet (although it does say that it updates once a day so hopefully tomorrow it will have improved again????????)

tortoise · 25/11/2008 22:10

Fingers crossed for that FAQ!

I only have 3 bids over 3 items and not many watchers.

bubblerock · 25/11/2008 22:22

I forced myself to do some listing tonight and managed to get a pile of Evans combats on there. I still can't face getting all the boys clothes out to list, I think I'll just do a bundle and try and flog the lot.

I need a kick up the bum to get the rent paid! Actually, this thread does help because you lot are all so enthusiastic!

Those Xmas lights have gone up to £36 and now have 13 watchers, they don't end until Sunday and I only started them at £4.99!!

tortoise · 25/11/2008 22:34

wow well done Bubble. Amazing price for old lights.

I should have re-listed some bits but don't really want them to end this late so i think i will do them tomorrow and try a daytime ending. Also have ladies monsoon dress to list.

bubblerock · 25/11/2008 22:41

Do you feel a bit pressurised to get things on before Christmas? It seems to be going by so fast and I keep thinking of stuff that I could sell as potential presents so need to get them on asap!

Well done on your sales btw everyone!

tortoise · 25/11/2008 23:14

yes very pressurised lol! Time is flying by. Plus i need things to end in time for me to post before gall bladder removal op on the 9th dec!
I think i have pretty much listed all the toys. just have books and clothes left which probably won't sell anyway so not worth listing at the moment.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 25/11/2008 23:28

oh yes definitely pressurised - I've set myself a Christmas deadline to get rid of all the stuff I've sorted out over the last few months. If I don't sell it it will be either given to my BF for her charity fundraising she does, freecycled...........or binned........

If I don't want to take it with me when I move after Christmas sometime I don't want it in the house basically..............and obviously I'd like to make some money from it too

I've got 4 watchers on the music now - no bids yet though, but still got 4 1/2 days to run

SNOWBall4girlz · 26/11/2008 00:38

just done ur feedback faq gave you 5/5 for everything hope it helps :0

gutted my bra did not sell even though it had three watchers bought a job lot of weird sizes off my friends boyfriend and this is the first time it has not sold (he got sick of toking them round the working mens clubs and local pubs asking if anyone wanted to buy a bra nude nudge wink wink.....)

i love my local charity shop the little old ladies are fab but the area manager is a bit more clued up ....timing is everything

i am listing a ralph lauren snow suit they go for about £20 but am starting it at a fiver do you think this will put potential buyers off?
costs £90 new

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 26/11/2008 00:44

Thanks Snowball - just seen that you'd left feedback - has nudged my delivery back up to 4.1 - still in lower search standings, but better than 4.0

Decided not to worry about that "detailed" sellers rating bit (even if I do get a neg/neutral off that bloke) as looking back at the comments from this month they're all really good ones and tbh I think someone that is going to look that closesly at the detailed ratings is going to read the feedback too.

And if it was me, unless I was desparate for an item now (ie I really wanted it asap) I would actually be more concerned about the item description, communication etc than whether people thought the seller posted stuff quick enough

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 26/11/2008 00:45

I know nothing about Ralph Lauren Snowsuits, but I don't see why a £5 starting price would put buyers off?

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 26/11/2008 09:47

oh well - stuff that - I've just got more feedback, another positive, but dispatch time score down to 3.9 now "oops" .

Oh well - I don't care...............

tortoise · 26/11/2008 10:40

Oh dear FAQ! Hopefully sending the next lot really quick will bump that back up. Can you keep some money back ready to post? Or use money in paypal to print postage labels?

At last! DS2's radio controlled car thing has a bid. Can't remember if this is the 2nd or 3rd time it has been listed!

Can i have your opinions on this monsoon dress i have ready to list? Will put a pic on profile. Not sure whether to put in on auction or BIN and what price to do it for. it is in good condition but has had to have the strap sewn back on.

tortoise · 26/11/2008 10:51

Pic added.

Has anyone read the note at the top of the thread?
Note The eBay topic is intended for Mumsnet members to discuss eBay, not for advertising eBay items. OOps

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 26/11/2008 10:55

oh well never mind about the note - these threads have happened on and off for ages and no-one has complained.

It's not like we're starting threads directly saying "COME AND LOOK AT MY STUFF AND BUY IT" is it?

The money for posting is fine - it's just getting into town to do it

tortoise · 26/11/2008 11:00

Ah i see. I have the opposite problem lol! Tuesday i planned to post some but had -£5 in the bank! No moneu going in until Thursday. No Gas for 2 days now!
Have loads to send now as well. Xmas presents will just have to wait. Would use paypal but i keep spending it on Ebay on cheaper pressies lol!

Lilyloo · 26/11/2008 11:06

guyfawkes i would just send the next lot of the day after payment to bump it back up if you can. I never look at that anyway when i am buying.

Will look at the dress now!

Don't thnik anyone could object we only ones on the thread now and we are helping each other out with listings aren't we.

Don't know how you all have the time and money to post to have so many things listed at once!

Lilyloo · 26/11/2008 11:08

ooh it looks lovely and tiny!! What are the completed listings at ?
I have monsoon cardigan kids with a small ladder on no watchers my other one had loads so not sure r/e damage.

bubblerock · 26/11/2008 11:18

That's really pretty - I honestly don't think the picture does it justice though. Have you got a nice wooden hanger and it's a bit wonky even if cropped. I'm just being picky though (god, some of my pictures are crap! ). Do you use Picassa? You can straighten pictures using it which is useful.

tortoise · 26/11/2008 11:27

Nope no wooden hanger. Better without one? Yes will use picassa to crop etc .
Completed listings varies.

bubblerock · 26/11/2008 11:31

Black hanger? I can never photograph trousers - they always look crap, anyone got any tips?

tortoise · 26/11/2008 12:08

Nope lol. That is my only hanger .
No idea re trousers. They are hard to photograph!

Lilyloo · 26/11/2008 13:07

I wouldn't do a BIN then ? You never know may do well for someone xmas party ? I would hang it up on any hanger rather than on floor.

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 26/11/2008 13:10

grr - what is the point of watching a BIN item? Either you want it or you don't - and if you do just buy the bloody thing

tortoise · 26/11/2008 13:15

Ok will do auction then and take pic hanging on door.
FAQ I agree! I hate having watcher then item doesn't sell! Proably people with the same item seeing if it is worth selling lol!

tortoise · 26/11/2008 21:02

dress listed. Does it look ok?
