I'm sat ready and waiting for my first negative feedback from a buyer soon............sold something to him a week last Thursday. I have a 5 day dispatch on ALL my listings.
Last Monday (2 business days after payment had cleared)
"Hi, I purchases the above item and paid for it on the 13th Nov. Could you possibly leave feedback and let me know how long you think it will take for this item to arrive.
Many Thanks"
I replied to tell him that I would leave feedback once he'd received the item (just something I like to do - wait until the transaction is totally complete) and politely pointed out the 5 day dispatch
Tuesday - got this email (which arrived at exactly the same time as I sent a bulk email to all my winning bidders apologising that I wouldn't make the 5 day dispatch due to ill children - 2 of them skirted with being admitted to hopsital on the same day with their chests!!)
"You are to leave feedback once payment has been received, which it has been, days ago. ebay policy!!! I would appreicate it if you could post this item as soon as possible, I have purchased items after yours and I have received them already. For such a small item it could be posted straight away I dont see why would have such a delay when item was paid for over 5 days ago."
I replied with (composed by an MN'er on a thread I started about it
"Thank you for pointing out the section of the feedback policy which indicates feedback can be left for a period of 90 days from when the auction ends. I would like to bring your attention to the section in the advert for goods brought which mentions dispatch within 5 business days. We are still within this period and whilst I generally aim to dispatch faster due to unfortunate family events it hasn't happened on this occasion - as explained in my email of.... I hope you are delighted with your purchase and it will now be dispatched... so should be with you by ...." (I filled in the blanks with Thusrday/Friday etc.
Friday I got this email from him
"Hi, I would appreciate it if you could possibly let me know if you have posted the items I paid for 8 days ago?"
I replied that night to tell him that I'd posted it (along with 15 other parcels)
Tonight I got this
"I paid for this TINY item over 10 days ago and still have not received a reply if you have posted it yet. I would appreciate it if you could let me know how you are getting on with posting this item. I understand you said you had sick childern but I paid for this item on good faith."
I replied (not so politely )
"I sent you an email on FRIDAY night saying that it had been posted that morning (along with 15 other items I may add ? you are NOT the only one that has been kept waiting, however you have been the only one to constantly badger me about it ? despite me having explained the situation to ALL of you)"
So I expect once he finally gets it he'll neg or neutral me - I don't care - my recent feedback shows that I'm ok. Obviously doesn't understand the concept of a "BUSINESS" day - as Thusrday would have been the 5th business day after payment had cleared - so I was only one day "late" sending it.
