Need all your help in dealing with an annoying seller who stole my picture......

I just sold a Mamas & Papas cot on eBay last week. However within a couple of days of listing mine someone else listed one and used MY PHOTO.

Result was that various people e-mailed me asking if mine was the real one, or hers, and I suspect some people who might have bid didn't because they were suspicious about two listings with the same picture.

I e-mailed the seller politely and asked her to remove it. She replied with a rude and offensive message basically saying F off and Get a Life.

I reported it to eBay, but of course they haven't done anything about it yet, and her listing finishes tomorrow.

Sooooooooooo I wondered if anyone on here with an eBay account would fancy 'asking the question' of this buyer "Is your picture REALLY of YOUR cot, it's just that I noticed the same one on an earlier listing..."

or soemthing else just to make her realise she can't get away with this.

I feel really sorry for whoever buys it, because she is really mis-representing it by using a stolen picture...

Here's the item: Nicola Cot

Pleeeeeeeeeeease....

oh come on scatterbrain, its not that much of a big deal. give legacy a break.

no-one has ruined the woman's listing...a listing that is breaching an ebay policy no less and should really be removed anyway.

nightowl · 22/05/2007 22:33

well IM not arguing.

this is MY line

sixlostmonkeys · 23/05/2007 12:34

it's been removed

Hi all,

I tend to watermark my pictures now that I use on Ebay cos it really winds me up when people just cant be arsed to take the time to do the photos themselves.Stops anyone nicking the pics as I use my Ebay id on them, dont think you can erase it that easy from a cut and pasted pic either.Seems to stop lazy rude cheeky buggers like that one anyway.

tissy · 23/05/2007 13:04

how do you do that?

Legacy · 23/05/2007 13:51

I wondered if something had happened - I got a message from her saying "watch this space" - think it's meant to be a threat

I have one item ending today so I suppose she's going to try to sabotage that? I might put a note on my listing warning people - what do you think?

Thanks to those who reported it.

add her to your blocked bidders list

sixlostmonkeys · 23/05/2007 13:53

oh and report that message to ebay

sparklygothkat · 23/05/2007 13:53

she is not allowed to threaten you via email, report her

Legacy · 23/05/2007 13:59

it would be hard to prove it's a threat she worded it in a casual way:
"lol game on what more can i say watch this space :-) "

sixlostmonkeys · 23/05/2007 14:01

I'd still report - state in your comment to ebay that this is as a result of you reporting her for picture theft

Legacy · 23/05/2007 14:02

Her item has been relisted.
She's obviously been allowed to relist it for the remainder of the auction period.

Legacy · 23/05/2007 14:05

yes, you're probably right - I will do, she could be e-mailing bidders (if I had any!)

What a pain!

Oh well, I don't have anything else to list after this, and I can use DH's ID until it all cools off...

nightowl · 23/05/2007 14:07

check ebay's policies about malicious interfering with auctions?

fruittea · 23/05/2007 14:13

Might be worth adding her to your blocked bidders list so she can't bump up the price and mess you about?

fruittea · 23/05/2007 14:17

blocking bidders

Legacy · 23/05/2007 14:30

Thanks Fruittea - yes, I've done that.

Good idea to block her Legacy, sounds like that is what she intends to do.

Tissy ,sorry only just back at the pc.
To watermark you usually find that you have to purchase software although you can download free trials to use for one or two pics so if you only need a few pics doing you may get away without buying anything if you use different free downloads, just run a search for offers.Other than that same affect can be done using just the normal photo suite editor that comes with most pc`s.This usually enables you to add text to the photo but it is not transparent so would need to go at top or bottom of the pic.
Select your photo to edit, select that you want to add text, then normally comes up with colour selection on most suites(so pick a colour)Then use cursor to draw an empty box on pic.In an auto pop up box pick your text size, write your text and select ok.BAM! Its on the photo.

Works on mine anyway .

If she e-mails bidders Ebay come down HARD (because if someone pulls out they lose fees of course)- we had someone sending lists of cheaper places to buy the stuff Dh sells (he restores certain specialist items and selsl them on), turns out this chap was listing some similar items himself , however Ebay banned him so that was that!

His threats were NASTY to us though, real viper stuff

slalomsuki · 23/05/2007 15:13

I've blocked her too since she gave me a semi threatening reply to my question but hey ho I have more important things to worry about

Piffle · 23/05/2007 15:20

make a card with your user name on it and stick it in all the phtoos you take

mumfor1standfinaltime · 23/05/2007 20:20

LOL! She has relisted it with her own pics!

Legacy · 23/05/2007 20:54

Her auction just ended without any bids. There were two before - they must have pulled out?

Oh well, I hope she relists it with her own photos and sells it next time.

kid · 23/05/2007 21:05

I think she isn't going to like you very much! She shouldn't have pinched your photos and then be so rude about it!

fruittea · 23/05/2007 21:08

Wonder what happened to the relisting - it had nearly 3 days to go. Wonder if ebay pulled it or if she withdrew it?
