Need all your help in dealing with an annoying seller who stole my picture......

I just sold a Mamas & Papas cot on eBay last week. However within a couple of days of listing mine someone else listed one and used MY PHOTO.

Result was that various people e-mailed me asking if mine was the real one, or hers, and I suspect some people who might have bid didn't because they were suspicious about two listings with the same picture.

I e-mailed the seller politely and asked her to remove it. She replied with a rude and offensive message basically saying F off and Get a Life.

I reported it to eBay, but of course they haven't done anything about it yet, and her listing finishes tomorrow.

Sooooooooooo I wondered if anyone on here with an eBay account would fancy 'asking the question' of this buyer "Is your picture REALLY of YOUR cot, it's just that I noticed the same one on an earlier listing..."

or soemthing else just to make her realise she can't get away with this.

I feel really sorry for whoever buys it, because she is really mis-representing it by using a stolen picture...

Here's the item: Nicola Cot

Pleeeeeeeeeeease....

Yes agree - actually, can I steal your style of listing for my next auction??

Wink

Ha Ha - s/he has now added more pictures to the listing (think they're suspicious now!)

but Bl*dy Hll - the cot's not even the same colour!

I see there are more photos added now!

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:07

Probably taken them from a variety of other peoples listings.....

pmsl have you seen the extra info she/he has added???

In response to some questions by keen ebayers who live too far away to view ; here are a few more close up photos of my cot and the mattress. Hope this helps ;-)

Hulababy · 22/05/2007 21:12

The new pictures really do look like they are a different colour!

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:12

At least she has a bit of a sense of humour...

Have just got DH to e-mail from his eBay account to ask "why is the cot a different colour in the close -ups - is it beech or birch ? "

Now if there is anyone here from Scotland, don't you DARE go and buy it as a result of this thread....

Am still annoyed eBay didn't remove it though...

sparklygothkat · 22/05/2007 21:18

if they have a camera why not just take a pic of the cot themselves??? Unless their house is really really messy

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:20

Ah, but if you look, you'll see that they have just photo'd close-ups of the end panels, so they have not had to build the whole thing (which IS a bit of a faff).

Anyway, that's assuming they ARE their photos

oh go on, someone ask if she has a side view of it, we'll get the wall colour then

apeainapod · 22/05/2007 21:22

oh yeah - what a cheeky cow.

bonkerz · 22/05/2007 21:22

i emailed again asking to confirm colour and also to ask why in first pic cot is empty and second pic cot is made up!!

nightowl · 22/05/2007 21:24

do you think she might wonder why she's had 320 views on her counter? bet she's all excited now.

we should all watch it too

no sorry thats evil.

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:24

Tee hee - you lot are great! This is making me laugh about this now

I wonder what she'd do if someone DOES want to view it though - will she bother constructing it then?

OP posts:
kid · 22/05/2007 21:31

Another photo added, you can't quite see the floor in the pic but you can see the cot isn't built.
(I've added to my watched list!)

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:32

Oh yes! PLEEEASE add it to your watch list too, just to boost confidence (only to be hopeless dashed later.....)

apeainapod · 22/05/2007 21:33

This IS funny - just to say that I have NEVER even ventured on to ebay - so a bit perplexed as to how it all works BUT very funny that you lot are emailing her and photos keep appearing....carry on!!

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:33

"why is the wall a different colour in that second shot?"

OP posts:
nightowl · 22/05/2007 21:36

disclaimer

i never suggested that.

it slipped out.

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:39

No law against watching...

We'll all want to know what happens apart from anything else...

OP posts:
nightowl · 22/05/2007 21:39

of course, of course.

bonkerz · 22/05/2007 21:42

reply to email was that it was light causing colour change. Then they emailed again with ....why do you care....i didnt reply and just got this reply!!!!

How petty . Item is pickup only. if the buyer doesnt think it is the same they dont have to buy it - not hard. now run along with your little friends as an ebay item is something i dont get concerned about. of course its a different room , it's dismantled now

IdrisTheDragon · 22/05/2007 21:43

Have added it to my watch list .

Legacy · 22/05/2007 21:45

Not surprised by that response Bonkerz - very much in the same style as the response I got.

I really hope eBay do suspend them even if this auction does end up running it's course...
