I recently sold an item on ebay and the buyer sent the money, and I posted the item.

Now, I did post 3 days late but I was on tour and didnt get the email with his address til I got back. I apologised to him, and explained that I was away. He seemed okay with it.

I have had about 15 emails from the buyer, claiming that he never recieved the item.
I have douvle checked the address with him. It was the right one. He has now opened a dispute on paypal and ebay about me and i dont know what to do. he is asking for POD number (?) and delivery number (again, ??)It was just a normal 'post in a jiffy bag' thing, so i didnt get anything like that?

I dont know what to do, and am worried as i have spent the money (it was nearly £200)

Ha ha!!

You got me. In fact I am a master criminal. Everything I have ever said on MN is an elaborate lie. Because I have nothing better to do..

If anyone else has ever had any Ebay problems, they were probably all me too. In fact, the FBI are after me for my criminal activities. Don't tell them you saw me

Ha! I knew it! That Peter Pan DVD I never received at Christmas. Your doing as well no doubt?

imaginaryfriend · 29/03/2007 22:53

And did you also steal the front and back wheels off my bike last week? How the heck did you get through those locks ...

BassMama · 29/03/2007 22:54

Yes. Conning children out of Disney DVD's is actually my speciality

LOL!

Cops are on their way. I'm outta here!

charlottegeorgiaolivermums · 29/03/2007 23:10

Totally feel for you I always go and ask for pod but last Saturday after I left po realized the cashier hadn't given me the proof and now I'm worried as the buyers haven't said they have received the item yet?
I once sent an uncrossed postal order to a seller who said she hadn't received it and I ended up paying for the item twice - well over the odds for a colouring book! I too was sure she'd got it but had no come back as it wasn't crossed and Royal Mail said anyone can cash uncrossed postal orders. Through this was strange but it happened to me yesterday took 2 postal orders to po offered ID and asked if I had to sign them cashier said no need for either. Good thing that I'm honest and wouldn't dream of trying to con anyone who buys from me.

well Bassmama, you still dont convince me with the continual changing of your tune

"I dont understand your coment about profits from gigs" - okay, I'll say it again, if you are getting paid at gigs and put money into the company account, why do you have to pay money to buy an amp ? surely there is money in the company account to pay for at least part of this ?

"Just because you have never heard of a DJ using a guitar amp doesn't mean it doesn't happen!" - okay, it might happen if you stuck a dj on in the back room of my local, but it would NEVER happen in a club and it would NEVER happen through a marshall stack ! - you are living in a world of fiction - one 'little story' turns into a hundred to try and justify it

"are you claiming to have heard of every band in the world?!!" - No, but I believe you are in Edinburgh ? Its what helps pay my bills knowing whats going on in the music scene here, and if you were as busy playing gigs as you make out to be then I would be aware of your band, unless of course its not gigs and festivals you're playing now, but weddings and when I go along to a wedding I'm not there in an official capacity ! (and when did you last see a wedding band in the charts !)

"I have never said we were a 'happening rock band'!!! I really don't know where you are getting this from!" - how about from right here for a start "We play massive venues" - done some big weddings have you ?
"For the record, we are signed" - hmm, really ? and then "We have released 2 demos and are currently working on an album. This is not going to be released in general shops, like HMV!! We'll mainly sell it when we are doing gigs and have a few local independant record shops that will also be stocking it." - so you're not signed then but you're releasing your own album ?

"To suggest that you would have heard of us because of the 'old lineup' is RIDICULOUS!! They are in their 30's and 40's FFS!!! Hardly OLD!! and not that it is relevant, but they dont look it!! and you are being ageist actually." - you've obviously misread what I've actually said, here it is again - If they did have anything released I would definately be aware of them although with an old lineup like that I would've discounted them straight away - not because I'm ageist, but sadly the public generally is and the music biz definately is

If you're having fun doing the wedding circuit and whistlebinkies then good luck to you girl, but please dont churn out exagerations like a schoolgirl and expect to be taken seriously

and as to the other comments !
"I think the whole point of mummypoo's rant is that now we all know that she works in the music business....."
"mummypoo what do you do"
"she's a frustrated/failed artist, naturally!! (mummypops that is)"

believe me, when you've been through the mill with the music biz it doesnt seem at all glamorous and you'd be surprised at how little money there is on the go ! I do get paid for scouting but only if I feed the record company a worthwhile band so I am dependent on the talent pool thats out there. And yes, as my band were dropped I am a failed artist (but the good thing about being dropped is you get to keep the advance !) and I currently work in an office by day and keep an eye on the music at night in a few capacities, but at this stage it wont be for much longer !

Ha ! dont worry, I'm quite happy with what I've got now, rock'n'roll is a young single persons game !

When I first read Bassmamas posts I was intrigued, wondered how I hadnt come across her (Edinburgh is a very small place when it comes to music and I'm always happy to give a leg up to women in bands) but now I realise she's just in a wedding covers band and the rest is, err, shall we say "an imaginitive perspective" ? it explains it all

Cheers,

Mumsypoops

BigEggLittleEgg · 30/03/2007 17:14

God yesterday when I ready mumsypoops comment(s) I thought she was a bit OTT and felt a bit sorry for BM, but have just caught up with the thread and am astounded!!!

So it is all clear now BM, you are the one who never sent my poor DH his goods.

Gosh you are one busy woman, although I guess seeing as your band doesn't exist you dont have much to do in your day (no doubt your DS really is made up too) .

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2007 17:17

be funny if you did know each other

I knew some people in the edinburgh music scene once when it was quite lively..fast records was the label i think

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2007 17:20

in fact

Zippi - I think you are a fantasist. You just want to be associated with the music industry so are now making up claims of granduar.

FWIW Bassmama, you did the morally right thing refunding him.

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2007 18:37

shucks i have been rumbled
