HELP - I am being accused of a scam??!

BassMama · 24/03/2007 21:29

I recently sold an item on ebay and the buyer sent the money, and I posted the item.

Now, I did post 3 days late but I was on tour and didnt get the email with his address til I got back. I apologised to him, and explained that I was away. He seemed okay with it.

I have had about 15 emails from the buyer, claiming that he never recieved the item.
I have douvle checked the address with him. It was the right one. He has now opened a dispute on paypal and ebay about me and i dont know what to do. he is asking for POD number (?) and delivery number (again, ??)It was just a normal 'post in a jiffy bag' thing, so i didnt get anything like that?

I dont know what to do, and am worried as i have spent the money (it was nearly £200)

I feel sorry for Mumsypoops. really sorry.

imaginaryfriend · 30/03/2007 20:30

Just ran a search and mumsypoops, the super-single rock-chick who knows everything about the Edinburgh music scene and has put poor BassMama behind bars has in fact only ever posted on 3 threads. One of them being this one

... Need I say more?

BM, I'll get onto a solicitor and start your appeal tomorrow. Or after the weekend. Got too many real gigs to go to this weekend.

southeastastra · 30/03/2007 20:45

mumsypoops [sock]

this thread went off on a bit of a tangent

imaginaryfriend · 30/03/2007 20:48

[sock]? SEA were you trying to hit mumsypoops then?! (hello by the way )

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2007 20:51

collision

is there something you know about mumsypoops then?

imaginaryfriend · 30/03/2007 20:58

I wondered that, zippi, but I guess collision meant that she felt sorry that mumsypoops (can't believe I have to keep writing that daft-sounding name) was being so aggressive needlessly?

southeastastra · 30/03/2007 21:00

hello if! where have you been?

whoops at

collision · 30/03/2007 22:30

I was just being a bit ironic/sarcastic really that a supposed Mumsnetter could come on here and be such a

B**CH!!!!!!!

What an absolute cow she was to Bass....for no reason whatsoever! Bass was obv distressed and she attacked her for no reason whatsoever! Astonishing.

I do feel sorry for her for her failed music career and that the only kicks she could get were to slag off someone who needed help.

Cowbag.

zippitippitoes · 30/03/2007 22:31

I thought you meant it..even went back to see what i had missed!

BassMama · 30/03/2007 23:59

OH MY GOOD LORD!!!!

Just came on (was doing a gig tonight, believe it or not - literally!!!!) to read THIS!!!

Thank you to everyone for your support (Mumsypoos excluded!)

Though.. for the benefit of 'mumsypoos'..

The money we earn from gigs, that goes into the company account, pays for lots of things. EG, transport costs (diesel, quite expensive in our van). NOT that it is really ANYONES business how we run our business!!

"Just because you have never heard of a DJ using a guitar amp doesn't mean it doesn't happen!" - okay, it might happen if you stuck a dj on in the back room of my local, but it would NEVER happen in a club and it would NEVER happen through a marshall stack ! - you are living in a world of fiction - one 'little story' turns into a hundred to try and justify it'

This is TOTAL crap!! First, do you honestly think a marshall stack would be used in the 'back room of a local'??!! PLEASE go into a club and have a look and see what the sound system is like!!!

We do play weddings! But that is not all we do! And yes, we are based in Edinburgh (as all but one of us LIVES here!), but actually play quite rarely in Edinburgh. We travel ALL over the country(and sometimes abroad). We are not a 'local' band..

When I said we play massive venues, I meant it quite literally, we play in very big spaces. Sometimes clubs, sometimes halls/marquees, sometimes outdoor (and yes, we do play a lot of festivals, there are alot more festivals than T in The Park and Glastonbury you know! In fact, I would have expected someone with your background to have known, there are literally HUNDREDS of small festivals every year!!)

Oh, and for the record, have never played in Whistele Binkies (But know some good bands who have! no disrespect!)

I feel really sorry for you. If it makes you feel better to treat people (very randomly!) like this, on the web, then carry on.

You obviously have issues and thats a terrible shame for you. But please refrain from lowering yourself to the level of public insult!

You have done nothing but embarrass yourself here. AND irrelevantly hijack a thread

Oh - and in response to this comment -

'Ha ! dont worry, I'm quite happy with what I've got now, rock'n'roll is a young single persons game !'

I assume this is the root of your jealous attack - as I am a young single person, so can still play the rock'n'roll game!

I guess its hard being old...

Its a shame people have to be like that isn't it. Oh well.

sorry - just read over this all again, and am actually now feeling really but also very

Why did you feel the need to put me down so much mumsypoop? Why do you want to make me out to be stupid and have no idea what I am doing, in my career? That I have spent years building and intend to work on for the rest of my life? I work bloody hard for my son, and sacrifice time with him to earn money the way I know best. And then I come on here for advice and get treated like that? Sorry, but this has made me really upset after re-reading.

Thank god everyone else on this thread has been so nice, we are meant to be supporting oneanother after all.

Thanks Jules..

Sorry I jusr read ove the whole thread again and realised it was actually really nasty!

Gig tonight was alright, not that great so I am not in the best of spirits! Me and the lads sat and had a few pints together after, but then we all went home as we have 2 gigs tomorrow and plan to party after (yey!) so we thought we'd take it easy tonight (how sensible!!).. But the afternoon gig means early set up so ill barely get to spend any time with DS tomorrow .. plus 2 of the guys had a stupid falling out on the way back from Glasgow and everything is fine now, but it put me in a bad mood, you know? and then I come home to read that?!

Bad day.. I'm fine really! Thank you though. Got your email add by the way, will defo get round to dropping you an email soon! There is musical banter to be had i think!

BM, I don't think that mumsypoo is a 'bonafide' poster. There are only 3 threads under her name. I may alert the MN team to her responses here and they can decide if I'm right or not.

Because of that, I think you shouldn't take a word of what she says to mean anything at all other than someone who's decided to single you out for a bit of 'fun.'

Mumsypoops, its April 1st tomorrow

Saturn74 · 31/03/2007 15:43

Bassmama, don't waste your time explaining or justifying anything about your life to other posters.
You aren't the one acting dubiously on this thread.

Boco · 31/03/2007 15:49

She's a mean lady, bm you don't need to explain anything to anyone. Rise above the mean lady.

vimfuego · 31/03/2007 16:06

mumsypoops, jog on, you're nasty

collision · 31/03/2007 21:17

The weird thing with Mumsypoop is that the thread was nothing about music...it was about a prob with ebay.

I dont think she came on Mumsnet to cause trouble particularly but she must have stumbled on this and the decided to give vent to something that is obv very wrong in her own life. She has a failed music career and gave a lot of earache to Bass for no reason.

She was awful but might have been having a bad day and wanted us all to know she is in the music business!

Like.....bovvered??

zippitippitoes · 31/03/2007 21:21

but mumsypoop isn't in the music business..she works in an office and if she spots a band who are taken on by a label she gets a payment..

sorry this analytical correcting is catching pmsl

bassmama you sound like you may not have loads of cash but you have a lifestyle job doing something you really love

nulnulcat · 31/03/2007 21:39

not read all of this as really tired but dont try and escape paypal! we tried to not over anything dodgy mind but when they couldnt get there money they handed it over to debt collecters who phoned a million times a day until they get there money! they do know who you are!!!!!!!!!

FrannyandZooey · 31/03/2007 21:56

Bassmama I just wanted to say well done for doing the right thing by your buyer. I read through the whole thread (mostly to see wtf it was so long) and I was horrified when I thought you were going to try and deny the guy his refund. Good on you for coughing up and the best of luck with your music career (what a strange thread this has been )
