I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

Thanks somuch tortoise you're a wee star!

Bubbless · 09/09/2012 14:30

im with everyone else, ive got a couple of watchers on stuff but no bids.. everyone is too busy listing!

SomebodySaveMe · 09/09/2012 14:40

Can I join in please? I have this lot www.ebay.co.uk/sch/piratesparkles/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 ending today and in a few days. More to list tonight as well.

Sorry I can't do links on my phone

notcitrus · 09/09/2012 16:54

Ebay really is dead atm, isn't it! Might be worth waiting and paying listing fees.

Hit another hurdle as ds played with my replacement camera and snapped the memory card, which is now stuck in the camera...

SomebodySaveMe · 09/09/2012 17:17

I have a build a bear going for £10. I'm in shock as it was a 50p bootsale buy that DD hasn't really played with!

Does anyone buy to sell? It's something I'm considering but I'm not sure about rules, tax etc.

Tortoise · 09/09/2012 17:22

Somebody I've bought 2 build a bear teddys cheap that have ended up selling well when DD didn't want them.

If you buy to sell you need to register as a business seller and also need to register as self employed with hmrc for tax purposes. I recently did this to get off of job seekers allowance.Smile

LineRunner · 09/09/2012 19:17

Not a bad day - lots of things didnt sell though so I'm relisting (for free!) to finish this time next week.

But things are definitely picking up.

lljkk · 09/09/2012 19:46

Do you suppose a nice quality wooden puzzle but with no box, or box in poor condition, would be worth listing?

51 listings & 23 watchers on 2 bikes with starting prices of £120 or £350 :).
Sadly we plan to replace them with a pair of wheels (used wheels, and no tyres or even quick releases, you understand, just wheels) costing £180ish, but even so, good start.

I have about 10 other things I could list tonite if I wasn't feeling so frazzled, but tbh, I am having trouble keeping track of my Pile of things to sell. Was sweating hard earlier when I couldn't find 2 very small things that sold last night (phew, now found). One of those still not paid for yet, mind

ps: Before you hate me, I usually only profit like £7/month.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 09/09/2012 22:23

I would say good condition toys are always worth a shot. I buy without boxes (cheaper!)

Tortoise · 09/09/2012 22:35

Sold 2 items tonight! Out of 30 odd.
One for £2.99 and a clothes bundle for £7.75.
Just re-listed all and listed DS's xbox, ipod and badly knackered iphone. Will be interesting to see if the iphone sells at all!

BabylonPI · 09/09/2012 22:38

I sold an old knackered iphone3g last year for £82 so they do go Grin

My trailer sold for £670.00 and is being collected on Tuesday. Ive got another 60+ listings to put on this week, including a couple of yummy mummy changing bags which seem to be selling very well and a 6 berth canvas frame tent - which may or may not shift, but we'll see!!

Tortoise · 09/09/2012 22:46

Babylon It is the iPhone 3g. Even a tenner will be better than nothing.

LineRunner · 09/09/2012 22:49

You know when you completely cock up P&P? I think I have just made a profit of 24p on a coat!

Tortoise · 09/09/2012 22:50

Oh no Linerunner. I hate it when that happens.

LineRunner · 09/09/2012 23:02

I think Babylon's trailer is fab, though!

Ah well lesson learned. I only started ebaying in June. Hopefully the buyer will appreciate her bargain and not want me to pay for her to return it!

PurpleFrog · 10/09/2012 10:25

I had quite a good week overall. I had 8 items finishing on eBay yesterday, and sold 3. Better still, one of these items was on its 4th relist! I also had a sale on Gumtree and one in the local paper's £50 and under column - both things that I have advertised on and off for a while. I am beginning to feel that I am at last clearing the "backlog".

I managed to get 5 more things listed for free yesterday evening, and also relisted the things that hadn't sold. I have another 2 items finishing on eBay tonight, and one of these has bids. I definitely feel that things are picking-up again. Smile

EmptyCrispPackets · 10/09/2012 12:50

I've made £70 this week - not bad and some stuff I have to relist so hoping to get to £100 by end of week Smile

Babylon, I'd be interested in the bags, can you link please?

lljkk · 11/09/2012 12:00

I reckon quality toys are best listed between 15 Oct & 1 Dec (Xmas rush, & all). Cheaper toys I'll list every FLW going between now & forever.

I finally had a BNIB veg steamer sell after about 7 realists... could have blown me over with a feather when it went.

Currently, 46 watchers on the 2 bikes.

DH is amazed, I have talked the bikes down as much as I dare in the listings, great big pictures up of them, enormous enlargements of their rusty areas. One needs minor work, probably, too. I suppose buying quality to start has paid off in resale value.

35 watchers on the other 49 items.

Mirage · 11/09/2012 13:58

I'm up to £181 odd now,but am holding off listing anything else until the next FLW.My instinct re my idiot buyer were correct,10 days late and she still hasn't paid for postage, and hasn't responded to my messages,so I've applied to cancel the transaction.I'm really annoyed at the amount of my time that she has wasted and I've been nothing but helpful and polite.arghh!

Might put the jacket on Gumtree of FB instead.

McPhee · 11/09/2012 21:17

I've finally made a start Grin

Only three items listed so far tonight, but tomorrow is 'E' day. Now I've got the ball rolling it'll be easier to get back in to the swing of it hopefully.

Anything which isn't tied down tomorrow is getting listed Wink

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 11/09/2012 21:27

Yay! Just sold the PM mansion for £92 Grin.

My current total is now £103.

I've only got three more items listed at the moment and not particuarly hopeful of any of them selling so I'd better get digging for more saleable goodies Grin

Now, is there a way to disable the buying side of my account? I seem to be getting far too carried away with buggies Blush.

Tortoise · 11/09/2012 22:18

That's good hiccup.

DS2 is happy. His xbox has a bid! Only 1 other item has a bid but plenty of time.

BeaWheesht · 12/09/2012 00:21

Sold another £14.50 worth tonight so sitting at about £80 so far I think

McPhee · 12/09/2012 04:41

Is being given a limit of only being able to sell 10 items a month normal? I've just seen this on my selling page. I'm sure I've never had that before>??

BeaWheesht · 12/09/2012 07:29

I have that too I presumes it was because I've lot sold before??
