I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

A bed in the spare room? What a novel concept!

Right, time to take some photos, as a faint beam of actual sunlight is shining weakly onto my photo-couch.

I don't know if I can face listing any more and having to deal with the queues in my local post office. I should though, shouldn't I?

Do it, Hiccup. It's just a way of life for me, now!!

But then I'm mostly in for decluttering. And we are slowly noticing benefits. High paypal balance is just a bonus that keeps me motivated.

Marking my place because I have 2 or 3 new items to list, & lots of relists.
Good luck to all with photographing :).

Hiccup, was it you who listed the Wii bundle?

Report
HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 07/12/2012 21:30

lljkk - I know I should but I look around the place and just don't know where to start! As there is bugger all on tv (as usual), I will go and have a look for some things that will be easy to pack and post.

Lineys - yes, it was. It's still listed Sad. Have reduced the price and offered a discount if it's collected and paid for in cash to try and encourage a buyer!

However, in the last couple of hours, I have sold a Wii game and a DS game on fixed price. I think there are just two Wii games left and the bundle. My DS has raised £230 since listing his stuff a couple of weeks ago! Smile

Hiccup, my DD has decided she would like to sell her Wii and Wii fit+ board and games, she hardly uses them any more. I think she would need to try to sell this weekend, maybe £120 BIN?

I'm hoping not to go that low but maybe it's more realistic if it's going to sell. I'm still a bit hopeful that someone local will buy it.

Which reminds me, I was going to try it on the local FB page...will go and do that now!

But you've got more extras and the original packaging, Hiccup.

Yeah, I suppose.

Good luck with the listing...I'd be interested to hear if it sells Smile

God knows how we'll pack it for a courier if it does sell!

Maybe we need to BIN it higher. This is the big sell weekend, after all.

So far, I have scheduled 18 items ready to list them tomorrow.
Mostly clothes left to do now and maybe a big my little pony.

Right, after banning myself from buying any more pushchairs, I now have two that need listing and soon to be a third Blush. Wondering whether to wait until after Christmas or not. I could do with the space really so should probably have a go now. Then I must seriously stop buying pushchairs!!! I blame having a Zafira on my recent buggy spree...it's near impossible to get anything in the bloomin boot when the back seats are up! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

LineysChristmasNamey · 08/12/2012 14:44

Get them listed, Hiccup, you buggy hoarder, you. Ebay is busy this weekend!

I have just sold something on BIN for my son (console bundle) that'll net just over £100. He'll be thrilled and amazed. It's a pretty good deal for the buyer - but DS just didn't use it any more. He'll be able to have something really nice for Christmas now that he wants.

They're both listed Grin. I've also put them on Gumtree and FB selling page just to cover all bases! Infact, I might even write out an advert to put on the notice board in the post office.

I can't believe so much of the day has gone and that's all I've done so far Sad. Going to shift myself and get something useful done!

BTW, what was your DS' console bundle?

We still have an old ps2 with a gazillion accessories that I need to get rid of but they seem to go for so little.

Report
LineysChristmasNamey · 08/12/2012 15:03

Hiccup, it was a Nintendo DSi XL, so still pretty current. The PS2s are only really good for people who still have masses of PS2 games or are geeks who like the retro stuff. But they do exist. You could list it as 'classic retro' and hope for the best. (WE got rid of ours for £25 quid - just the console - last year.) You'd have to be willing to post it, though, I guess.

Still need to photograph the Wii stuff but daren't dismantle it till DC come home from Christmas shopping. Daylight is fading fast! Did you sell your Wii yet (is it collection only, can't remember.)

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 08/12/2012 15:10

DS sold his DSi last week and got a good price too.

I think I'm at the stage that it'd actually be nice to get all the ps2 stuff out of the house regardless of how little we get for it. Although, I'd be sad to see my singstar collection go SadHmmGrin!!

No sale on the Wii yet and it's also listed on FB. Will reduce it again later I think. Yes, I've set postage at £17 so that it's insured up to the sale price.

My new listings
So far 36 items listed. I'm a bit worried i'm starting prices too high. Got a few more bits to do tomorrow.

I also have a PS2 to sell. We have at least 50 games plus eye toy camera and games, buzz controllers and games and guitar hero games and guitars. I want to test all the games before listing it which is why i still haven't got around to it.

Looking good tortoise.
I know but sometimes putting the starting price a bit high might pay off as that is what you know the items are definitely worth :)

I had forgotten just how long it takes but now have a few things on :)

my shoes
listed my shoes that I am storing and just gathering dust ......wish me luck lol.

LineysChristmasNamey · 09/12/2012 09:44

SNOW, you remind me that I have boots to list as well ...

I'll never get it all done today.

Can I ask, for those who have done this a lot longer than me, after Christmas is it worth still selling in the New Year when people might be looking for bargains? Or if not, when's the next busy time?

All your listings look good, btw.

I braved the loft . Obstensibly to find the Xmas stockings, but needed a good ferret Found 5 things from up there that must go.
Plus 8 new things I had done already
And another 12 or so relists.
4 sales so far this weekend, too, from the massive BIN listing splurge we all had weeks ago.
Am also feeling overwhelmed, though!

I may treat myself to some rolls of "Fragile" tape because I'm selling lots of fine china.

Sold DS2s Kinectimals Xbox game on BIN.

Bugger, I lost my message!

One of my buggies has sold on BIN. Is it normal to BIN then not pay or arrange collection straightaway? They live 150 miles away so I'm expecting them to want me to courier it...am thinking of offering to meet them halfway to avoid the hassle of couriers and what I spend on petrol will be saved on PP fees!

Re post Christmas sales. I carried on last year until about Easter and did quite well. I got good prices for the things that sold. I wasn't listing loads and loads but I did get rid of a fair amount of stuff. Also, iirc, there were quite a lot of FLW.
