I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

OP posts:
tryingtonotfeckup · 07/09/2012 13:21

I'm in but I a newbie only sold about 10 things to date, I've got a velour green and pink Juicy Couture bag to sell, never used. Is it better to wait until closer to Christmas for this to get a better price? Thanks

I'm going to count NCT NNS in my total though or I won't get anywhere near.

Arghh! I listed a wax jacket and put in the listing twice that it is collection only, due to weight.A numpty with 1 feedback has bid on it,won and paid.I emailed to ask her when she wanted to collect-turns out that she lives 100 miles away and wanted to know if I could post it.I've sent her an invoice for the postage via paypal, which she hasn't paid and she has just emailed to ask if I've posted it yet.I've replied that as soon as she pays the postage that she agreed to,I'll post it.I've just got a feeling that this is going to go bandy and would rather cancel the whole transaction now and start again. Can I do this if I just refund her what she has paid? Thanks.

CagneyNLacey · 07/09/2012 17:12

Not sure as never experienced this but i would want to cancel, refund, email her with explanation and then block her for being a tool.

BeaWheesht · 07/09/2012 17:39

I need help from you eBay experts

Someone has asked if they can bid from the USA is there a reason to say no????

Cremolafoam · 07/09/2012 18:53

Well not really but be vv careful about the postal price. Wrap item and take down to PO and get a quote . Can be v expensive .
You can add international shipping on your listing through the edit your listing button.

Or you can just say no not available if you don't want the hassle.

BeaWheesht · 07/09/2012 19:13

Thanks so would the postie ap not work?

Cremolafoam · 07/09/2012 19:41

Oh yes bea sorry it's been a long weekGrin

Got neutral feedback today after putting a lengthy honest description of a thing with 12 photos .
Some people are v hard to please. She paid £ 1.54 for it. FGS and says it doesn't fit her.Sad

BeaWheesht · 07/09/2012 19:45

Some people just like to moan!!!

--looks pointedly at children-

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 08/09/2012 09:35

I'm a bit fed up of refreshing my listings and realising there are still no bids Sad.

I have 34 watchers on the PM dolls house. I massively reduced the start price in the hope that it would encourage someone to bid. Now I'm a little concerned that it's not going to reach a good price.

There are also 12 watchers on a buggy. Just one bid on that would make me very happy Grin.

There are a couple of watchers on another item but that is it.

I really hope things pick up a bit.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 08/09/2012 11:43

Woohoo, got a bid!! And picked up a couple more watchers...feeling happier now Grin

Tortoise · 08/09/2012 15:03

Things aren't looking good for my listings on either account! Barely any watchers and no bids.

tryingtonotfeckup · 08/09/2012 16:58

Beats me, two watchers and no bids.

Damn, some things haven't even been viewed.

BeaWheesht · 08/09/2012 17:56

Well my bids are currently totalling £40 which is ok- they fjnish tonight.

When are you allowed to list more than 10 items a month?

LaVitaBellissima · 08/09/2012 18:01

I've just seen this, I'm a bit late to the party but am going to get going tonight whilst watching x factor
I'd love to earn a few hundred pound!
Good luck everyone Smile

ukulelelady · 08/09/2012 18:02

It's free until a minute to midnight tomorrow. The trick is not to buy more stuff on eBay, which is hard cos you have to do your market research, right. Next thing your thinking oh that's nice.... I do like a challenge, I'm trying to make £25 a month on eBay, that way it's manageable and there's usually free listings once a month.

lljkk · 08/09/2012 19:28

How do you know if items have been viewed, do I need to include a counter, will it count my own viewings, too?

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 08/09/2012 19:41

Lljkk - my counter shows automatically on the app I use but you can include a counter on the main eBay site when you list the item.

I now have 45 watchers and three bids on the PM mansion so am a little bit hopeful that it will sell well

tryingtonotfeckup · 08/09/2012 21:09

Still no change in bids / watchers. Do you think everyone is just listing items onto ebay for the free listing and not buying anything?

BeaWheesht · 08/09/2012 21:20

Ah quick someone help me again please???

My auctions are all ending - how do I check they've paid / do I need to send an invoice?

Tortoise · 08/09/2012 21:46

I have 1 bid! All ending tomorrow. This week has been deadly quiet. I can only assume it's because everyone is too busy listing!

Bea You will get an email from paypal telling you that you have received a payment also will be marked as paid in your sold items on ebay. You don't have to send invoices but i do if they haven't paid by the next morning.

BeaWheesht · 08/09/2012 22:15

Thanks tortoise

I've made £66 Grin

Now, I haven't used PayPal in ageS- is there an idiots guide anywhere?? I'm lost

BeaWheesht · 08/09/2012 22:19

Also sorry to ask more advice but I don't know what account my PayPal is connects to?? Ie which bank account - so.... Where will I find put or does the money stay in PayPal? I'm concerned it may be connected to a defunct bank acc.

fergoose · 08/09/2012 22:37

log into your paypal account then you can view your bank account details from there and if necessary add a different account

Tortoise · 08/09/2012 22:43

The money stays in paypal until you transfer it (or spend it on ebay lol!)
Your acccoun

Tortoise · 08/09/2012 22:44

No idea how i managed to post that before i finished!
I was going to say account info will be found in paypal account and can be changed to whatever bank account you want.
