I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

Tortoise: "I've gone for 5 days, then as soon as they end Sunday i can re-list for free!"

Cremolafoam · 05/09/2012 12:31

Yes it's called Postie and it's a free app.Smile
Also handy is the Paypal app.

BeaWheesht · 05/09/2012 13:38

Thanks - I have the app - looks good :)

Is it still free listing?

PurpleFrog · 05/09/2012 14:55

Yep - free listing continues until Sunday !

BabylonPI · 05/09/2012 21:53

Well I've done it!! My trailer is at £435 so far with 2 days 20 hours remaining!!!

I've had 6 bids, 812 views and there are 143 watchers Shock Grin

BeaWheesht · 05/09/2012 22:39

Well I've listed five items - wish me luck!!

Tortoise · 05/09/2012 23:40

Wow that's fab Babylon.

PurpleFrog · 06/09/2012 08:45

Fab? In my book it is definitely cheating! Wink

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 06/09/2012 08:54

Babylon

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 06/09/2012 08:58

good work!

BeaWheesht · 06/09/2012 09:26

Ive set a starting price of £5 can I also set a higher reserve?

lljkk · 06/09/2012 09:37

Don't you have to pay fees to set a reserve? I'd just start auction at my reserve price, keep things simple.

Oh bum, I've had to refund £7 for an item that arrived damaged; I could claim off of Royal Mail but I can't face it (this is second time it's happened to me, though, I should grit my teeth & figure out how to do that).

The item (hard rubber, about 12" long by 2.5" wide) arrived in 4 pieces but the packaging (just an A4 envelope & 2 layers of thick plastic inside) was undamaged, how does that happen? Confused I usually send everything in Jiffy bags, was just experimenting with how to keep the weight down, will go back to padded bags I guess!

BeaWheesht · 06/09/2012 11:08

What on earth was the item???

Tortoise · 06/09/2012 11:21

12" long, hard rubber Shock Hmm Grin

lljkk · 06/09/2012 13:30

lol, a heart rate monitor. Like this, only no watch. Sold for spares.

btw: has anyone gone thru the process of claiming from RM for damaged items ?

I am writing off this loss. I don't want to antagonise buyer still further by asking them to take their time to package it up & send it back. I would pay the buyer for their time & trouble to post it back, if it were a much higher value item. Maybe I need to understand the process for future ref. Would RM refund me postage cost for them to return it to me to make the claim, for instance? I am trying to figure out when it becomes cost-effective to put in claims for damage.

PurpleFrog · 06/09/2012 14:02

I have claimed a couple of times for items - one lost, one broken - and been reimbursed each time for the item and postage. You can download a form from the Royal Mail's website. I enclosed Proof of Posting and eBay invoice when I sent it back.

In one of my cases, I was actually the buyer. The seller sent me the Proof af Posting and told me to claim... Hmm I didn't realise at the time that it is the sellers reponsibility to refund then claim themselves.

notcitrus · 06/09/2012 23:20

Listed a few more small items - though looks like the world and its dog are listing atm so baby clothes fetching almost nothing.
Have listed lots of nappy wraps and nappies on clothnappytree though - never sold there before so will see how that goes. (here if interested...

BabylonPI · 06/09/2012 23:31

PurpleFrog why is it cheating??!! Confused

You got me all confused that I've done something wrong now Confused

Oh, and we're up to £520 now Grin. I don't know how to link to it, but if you search for Indespension Twin Axle 3 Tonne Trailer - it should appear! Grin

CointreauVersial · 06/09/2012 23:37

I did the Easter challenge, and sailed into Gold Medal position (thanks mainly to my old box of 1970s Pippa Dolls and clothes which my mum found in the loft and which raised over £200).

But I didn't list anything in the summer, because I ran out of steam. I MUST get back to it.

Free listing is until Sunday, is that right??

CointreauVersial · 06/09/2012 23:40

Hey, Cremola, fancy seeing you here?!

The Easter eBay thread was very motivating; let's hope that I get my arse in gear once more so I can spend the money on scarves.

lljkk · 07/09/2012 04:21

I have claimed for lost stuff before, but damaged is a new experience, it means getting damaged item back from annoyed buyer & sending it off after that to RM, lots more faff than merely lost.

At least the buyer of my broken item agreed to cancel the transaction so no risk of Neg Feedback (whew). I sent something else this week (a baseball cap) in just plastic bag & envelope & now I am panicking that will arrive in pieces too. Never again! Didn't even save on postage cost, either (slaps forehead).

I am listing about 30 items tonite & 30 more tomorrow. Shock

BeaWheesht · 07/09/2012 04:46

Well I have 2 bids and 13 watcher on some Shoes. Bids only at £5 and was offered £15 last night buy it now but refused - think may have made mistake but oh we'll you live and Learn. My other items have a few watchers each so we shall see. Nothing is major value though, one item is being roundly ignored too!!
I can only list ten things this month apparently is that cos I am new? If so will it increase ?

PurpleFrog · 07/09/2012 07:47

Sorry Babylon. You haven't done anything wrong. I was just jealous that you passed the £300 mark with one item. Envy I think there should also be a challenge to see who can sell the most items to trickle over the £300 mark - I would definitely be in the running for that! Grin

Cremolafoam · 07/09/2012 10:38
BabylonPI · 07/09/2012 11:40

Oh phew!! I thought I'd done something bad!! Lol!!

I'm usually the one with 100s listings and make about £50 profit HmmConfused
