I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

Linerunner, get them on! Just describe them as 'full of character'!

DMs, even well worn ones, do seem to sell well.
Bubbless How long ago did you transfer it? Think it takes upto 5 days to get to bank account but goes straight out of paypal.

Sold a few items tonight. Converse sold for £13 which im happy with.
Surprised that some Boden/Mini Boden didn't sell. Wondering if its partly to do with low feedback so far on new account. Need to list more to get feedback up.
Will be re-listing tomorrow night.

Well so far I've made £210 all together, which I'm Shock about, but so pleased as we are completely skint. I now don't have to worry about Christmas as have money for presents, quite a relief.

I think some stuff I listed at too low a price but it went, Christmas is sorted and the house is getting organised so it's ok.

Got more bits finishing today and relisted what didn't sell. Thanks for starting this thread!

Ooh!!! Free extra photos (so excited). Hope that's all week, is it only on bicycles or other categories, too? Anyway, am well pleased.

OTOH, I have a buyer claiming that an item arrived in pieces today. There are only 2 pieces, one of which I myself couldn't manage to detach from the other piece. It's a sports heart monitor, so unless the packaging was shredded, I don't see how item could arrive in pieces. Not worth postage to ask for it back (sigh). I have said I'd like to see a picture. I sold it for spares which meant spare strap to many of the buyers, I think.

Think I will give full refund & put him on my blocked list.

I managed to get 8 items up on Sunday - 3 new ones and 5 re-lists. I have watchers on 3 items of the items so far. I hope to get some more stuff sorted and listed over the next few days while the Free Listing continues.

I made £10 from Gumtree yesterday, so only £290 to go! Grin

Cor well done Cagney!

Thanks for the tip earlier about the rescheduling/editting fergoose - that's going to really suit me. You know how it is, trying to do stuff in the cracks of the day: the ebay bits have been going on in such dribs and drabs and not finishing at the best times.

Anyway, first 4 packages went off yesterday, I hope the buyers are happy.
I'm about £15 up - I could clear a couple of hundred by xmas at that rate.

Hi.

I'd like to join in. Wanted to do the last one but couldn't my backside in gear. Anyway, listed 13 items last weekend sold 10 made £54.00 so I'm pretty pleased about that.

It's absolutely all for Christmas or it'll be slim pickings on the present front.
I'm quite new to ebaying and I think I might be putting my postage too low and my starting price to low but I'll get used to it.

How often do free listing weekends come about?

Just did a PO run this afternoon . I am £ 41.75 up! And postage cost less than my estimate( cooking scales plus Postie app)

£ 300 attainable if I do a proper clean out.
Good idea to have a support thread.

I don't know about free listings after this week. They are usually every 2nd or 3rd weekend but this is my first 'ebay Christmas'!

Tortoise · 04/09/2012 22:47

Listed some more items tonight plus re-listed unsold items.
I've gone for 5 days, then as soon as they end Sunday i can re-list for free!

Lots more to list but am slacking on business account listing. I think i need to tell WTC that i am doing less hours. Really shouldn't have listened to the woman at the job centre who said put down 30 hours a week. I really can't do that much!

I've got £20 so far on an old plastic cowboy and horse that I found in the loft.It has 10 watchers and 3 days to go yet.I've lost one of my jobs so have a lot of lost wages to make up.

Off the mark - bids on 2 items for £15, and an item I put on Gumtree sold as someone on Twitter asked if anyone had one for sale and I replied 'yes actually' - £50, cash, no fees or hassle!

Have taken a wad of other photos for selling, and sorted out lots of baby clothes in good condition. How many items in a bundle is best? All Next/Gap type brands.
I also have some adorable snowsuits that I'm a bit sad dd will never wear, but she's in 9-12 month clothes and anything smaller has to go.

Is there still a 30 hour WTC threshold? i.e. if you work 30+ hours you get a little extra tax credit?

God these listings take forever.

Linerunner 16 hours is the minimum for wtc but get more for 30 hours. I like Ebaying but not up to listing 5 hours a day 6 days a week lol. 20 hours might be better.

Bea you need to download the eBay app onto your phone, hit the selling tab and it's pretty self explanatory from thereon in.

Bea- how are you getting on.?

I have set up a photo corner in the spare room for taking decent shots of items. Old white sheet and in good daylight. It's great you can have up to 12 photos now for free in clothing.Smile

Just to say if you can get the listings to end on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday evening it's better as people tend to do bidding at the end of listing.Smile

Bea - the Postie app is good for estimating postage costs. I always lost out by underestimating so have to be a bit careful.
