I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

OP posts:

I sold 3 things last night and have them parceled up ready to post at lunchtime! It is nice when buyers pay promptly...

SNOWBall4girlz - the black dress looks fine. You have explained that it is black so I'm sure it will be OK. Taking photos of dark colours and shiny fabrics is a nightmare. It is not the first time that I have posted a grey photo to show the details, and a black one to show the colour, on the same listing.

I hate taking eBay photos at this time of year, as my only chance for doing anything in natural light is the weekend... if we are at home!

PurpleFrog · 14/11/2012 10:05

SNOWBall4girlz - forgot to say - it looks like you are describing the dress as having a flat chest! Maybe you should put in some line breaks or punctuation! Grin

lljkk · 14/11/2012 14:05

All my buyers were fab, too, in paying quickly.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 14/11/2012 21:39

Mine all paid within 24 hours too!

It's good to have good buyers.

No feedback yet, hopefully things will start arriving tomorrow.

SNOWBall4girlz · 15/11/2012 11:50

Thanks purplefrog I will remember that and try to read what i type lol.
I try and put lots of measurements in and be accurate to avoid people asking loads of questions, but sometimes its as clear as mud :)

Sold 8 items and 6 have paid immediately and will get posted today.

Wish the other two would I like to get everything posted and then start again :)
I am going to relist but wonder if the free listing weekend is looming ?
Going to be putting on some 5- 6 yrs and some 2- 3 yrs girls I am having a massive clearout of the girls outgrown stuff.

SNOWBall4girlz · 15/11/2012 11:52

And the pics worked as the black dress sold, only for £3.00 but it all helps.

Just keep fingers crossed for good feedback :)

PurpleFrog · 15/11/2012 15:13

I sold 2 of the 4 things that finished last night so spent lunchtime going to the Post Office again. More prompt payers - I can't believe it! I had one item with 33 page views and 7 watchers which I was sure was going to be sold... but no... the Nintendo game which had 3 page views and no watchers went instead! Grin

I am hoping for another FLW this coming weekend - which reminds me - I have a pair of kid's salopettes that I should wash tonight, just in case.

LineRunner · 15/11/2012 18:25

Will it be free listings?

lljkk · 16/11/2012 10:39

I'm having a bad morning with Collect Plus :(.
Their website going very slowly. Just about loading & moving but very slowly, crashing out.

Rest of my web access fine.

I just got a confirmation email from them, and it's NOT MY PARCEL LABEL.

They've sent me the confirmation & delivery details for SOMEONE ELSE.

I PAID for this?

lljkk · 16/11/2012 10:47

Oops, they didn't send me wrong label (I misread something). But everything else about using their service this morning has been rubbish. All this stress to save 31p over RM cost. Argh.

And I still haven't quite got a copy of the good label out....

PurpleFrog · 16/11/2012 11:04

Good News! It IS Free Listing this weekend and it covers fixed price listings as well! More info here.

Dingle · 16/11/2012 11:37

Hi there everyone, how's it all going?

I need to get my act together and list some more this weekend. I have about an additional $30 in my Paypal account now BUT I have spent over £10 on P&P so it's not that great....but extra money and a bit of de-cluttering regardless! Grin

Dingle · 16/11/2012 11:38

ooops, that should be £!

Thank you for the info PurpleFrog.

amck5700 · 16/11/2012 11:54

Great, need to get some more stuff photographed and listed this weekend then - I've spent the £350 I've raised so need to get some more done. Not got any big ticket items left really unless it lets me list the "premium brand" items it would let me list before.

It would be good to try and get another £100 if poss. :)

LineRunner · 16/11/2012 12:12

I have sold maybe 160 items since June, but my house is still full of stuff. Just how cluttered is my home....?

amck5700 · 16/11/2012 12:22

lol linerunner that is some going - I have 2 suitcases of kids clothes but still have stuff in my own and their wardrobes to clear out - the piles of shoes and boots are a nightmare - there is no room for any new video games or dvds and the understairs cupboard is packed with winter coats that could go. However, things would be a lot worse if we hadn't already given tons of stuff away and also filled 2 skips in January!!

.....and then we have the toys..........aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhh!!!

LineRunner · 16/11/2012 12:31

Glad it's not just me, amck! I have so.much.stuff.

amck5700 · 16/11/2012 12:38

lol - I think it's because I have 2 boys 13 months apart that take the same size in everything so therefore have nothing that can be passed on and nothing to do with the fact I can't resist a bargain

amck5700 · 16/11/2012 12:41

I inadvertantly managed to order 3 pairs of the same jeans in the same size in a Next sale even though they only fitted one of my boys and then I never returned the others so ended up selling 2 brand new pairs a year down the line. Think the other pair have only been worn a couple of times too so I can dig those out and sell them too.

lljkk · 16/11/2012 12:49

My "To Sale on Ebay" pile keeps getting bigger, too, no matter how much I succeed in selling. Confused

LineRunner · 16/11/2012 13:12

I've just found a leather jacket of my DD's on a peg, which is age 12. She's nearly 17 now.... Grin

Maybe it's coming out of the floorboards, lljkk.

amck5700 · 16/11/2012 13:23

cant beat that I don't think linerunner but I was getting some gym kit from my son's drawer last night and noticed he had an age 10 t-shirt in there - that wouldnt be too bad considering he is only 11, but he hasn't worn ahe 10 since he was about 8 and I've cleared those drawers about every 6 months since then. I also found a pair of trousers aged 7-8 in a cupboard but there is an excuse for that given that it wasn't somewhere in general daily use!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 16/11/2012 13:27

I've not got any listings ready, and we're away all weekend. Will see if I can cobble a few together on Sunday evening.

Still got lots of bits to list and shift, hopefully we'll have a bit of space before Christmas arrives!

amck5700 · 16/11/2012 13:33

lol IwishIwasmoreorganised did you change names just for that post!!

...and don't we all btw :)

LineRunner · 16/11/2012 13:43

I am definitely a terrible hoarder.

I have rugs, for example. I don't mean just on the floor. I mean proper Habitat rugs folded and piled up in the corner of the kitchen. Why? I don't know. I just need to sell the damn things.
